Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband-Chapter 300: What Do You Mean?
Chapter 300: What Do You Mean?
"Do you have any other questions?" Dale asked finally, his voice quieter now, watching as she twisted the bracelet on her wrist like it was the only thing grounding her.
Ella looked up at him, her voice hesitant. "What about... the men that you mentioned? My vice? How will that work?
Dale exhaled, and leaned back in his chair. He wasn’t sure why this part made him feel so uncomfortable. Maybe it was the way she looked—like someone who still believed in decency or those romantic happy ever afters, even after everything. Or maybe it was the knowledge that, in a way, he was about to teach her how to weaponize her own perceived innocence.
He rubbed his jaw, then met her gaze squarely. "Alright. Let me be direct."
She nodded once, bracing herself.
"Since you can’t touch the usual vices—no drugs, no alcohol—you need something else to make them believe you’re broken. So the next best thing? You make them think it’s sex. That you’re depraved. Curious. Addicted. Whatever they want to project onto you. You’ll act like someone with twisted appetites. Maybe you’re into control. Maybe you want to be humiliated. Maybe you like pretending to be something you’re not. It doesn’t matter what you like. What matters is what they believe you’ll pay for. And that it can be used against you and ultimately Aiden Hawk."
Her breath hitched. "So, I have to... pretend I’m into those things?"
"Yes. You don’t actually have to do anything unless it’s necessary. But you need to convince them that you’re looking. That you want something only they can give. They might even get someone that you might be able to fall for, that way, you can always be under their control."
She looked away and unknowingly, he softened his voice," You won’t be alone. I’ll be monitoring. You’ll be trained on how to fake everything—arousal, submission, dominance. You’ll learn to control yourself without taking off your clothes. You’ll learn to make them think you’re easy to manipulate, when really, you’re running the game."
Ella looked away then and clenched her hands again as if trying to hide her thoughts.
"What is it? You have to tell me everything, Ella." Dale asked sharply when he noticed her hesitation.
She looked up at him and then quickly averted her gaze," I think I am not the right person for this."
"Are you getting cold feet now? I thought you were willing to do anything!" Dale sneered, feeling the little respect he’d started to have for her dissipate. He needed to start training her but if she kept dillying and dallying, then this would be even more difficult. She needed to stick to a decision. Now she was already having cold feet and they had not even begun training.
Dale scoffed, the edge in his voice sherpening as she stayed quiet. "If you’re already second-guessing this, then maybe I was wrong about you. Maybe you are just a spoiled little girl playing at being brave because it sounds noble in your head. This isn’t some weekend mission, Ella. You don’t get to flinch now and ask for a cleaner version."
That did it.
Ella’s head snapped up, eyes blazing and her voice shaking with fury. "I’m a virgin, Dale Brown!"
The silence that followed was sudden and absolute. It hit the room like a punch.
Dale blinked, stunned. For the first time since their conversation started, he looked completely caught off guard. "You’re—what?"
She looked away quickly, her breath shaky now for a different reason. Her voice was softer but no less bitter. "I’ve never... I’ve never slept with anyone. So when you talk about vices and pretending to have twisted appetites or whatever— I don’t even know what normal looks like. Let alone how to fake being addicted to something I’ve never even experienced."
Dale opened his mouth and then closed it again, rubbing a hand down his face. "Shit." He sighed, more rattled than he wanted to admit. "I didn’t know. You didn’t say anything."
"I didn’t think I’d have to,"she snapped. "I thought we were talking about going undercover or something. Not my damn sexual history."
Dale didn’t respond right away. He just looked at her — really looked — like he was seeing her for the first time. Then, without a word, he pushed away from his desk and moved.
Slow.
Purposeful.
He walked around it, his footsteps casual, unhurried, like a predator circling fragile prey and not wanting to startle it.
Ella stiffened as he came to stand beside her, not touching, not speaking, but the shift in the air around them was immediate and almost electric. She tilted her head to look up at him and something inside her made her want to almost look away...
Then he leaned in.
One hand braced on the back of her chair, the other flat on the desk beside her. His face was close enough now that she could see the different shades in his irises—storm cloud grey with a darker ring. Close enough to feel the warmth of him as he surrounded her.
She felt her nails dig into the skin of her palms as she fought the urge to look away from his gaze. It was almost as if he was going to devour her right here.
She felt her lips tingle as his gaze fell lower on them and gulped.
Dale watched her control herself and continue to stare at him defiantly and smiled.
He’d expected a virgin to shy away. To close up. To tremble or lower her gaze. But she didn’t. She looked straight into him, like she was daring him to do whatever it was he thought would make her run.
And that defiance as she looked at his was enough to reasssure him. She would do. Her being a virgin was not going to be a problem...
He closed the distance between them and his lips brushed against the shell of her ear-not quite touching,as he murmured in a low voice," It’s okay if you’re a virgin. As long as you’re willing... I’ll handle everything."
