Fallen To The Ruthless Obssessive CEO-Chapter 542 - 453
Editing tomorrow
Jiang Ruan hadn’t finished speaking when Xiao Chen disappeared around the corner.
Something’s not right, everything’s too unusual.
Jiang Ruan frowned deeply; it’s just been one night, what exactly happened in the company?
She’s a major shareholder of the company, Sister Qin hasn’t contacted her either.
Thinking about this, she walked to the office in high heels; the quiet corridor made the sound of her heels particularly piercing.
At the office door, the door was tightly closed. Jiang Ruan took a breath and knocked: "Knock knock knock."
Sister Qin’s voice came through: "Come in."
Jiang Ruan pushed the door, and as soon as it opened, there was a sudden bang above her head, and colored ribbons fell directly down.
Unprepared, Jiang Ruan’s heart skipped a beat.
She saw a crowd in the office, familiar and unfamiliar company employees and management were all there.
This scene left Jiang Ruan stunned: "You all..."
She later realized this was a surprise they had prepared for her.
Sister Qin stood at the front, holding a bouquet of flowers as she approached, smiling: "They wanted to surprise you and congratulate you and Mr. Bao, pulling me in to participate. I naturally enjoyed it."
"Congratulations, Jiang Ruan."
A cheer rang out behind Sister Qin, filling Jiang Ruan’s ears.
"Congratulations Sister Jiang Ruan!"
"Wishing you and Mr. Bao eternal happiness."
"Yes, yes, may you grow old together."
"This is a cake we made ourselves, Sister Jiang Ruan, make sure to try it later."
On the cart was a very large cake, over ten inches.
On it were her and Bao Ye’s names.
Seeing this, Jiang Ruan couldn’t control her emotions anymore, tears welled up in her eyes.
She said: "Alright."
Accepting the bouquet from Sister Qin, Jiang Ruan was deeply moved and bowed to everyone.
Her eyes were red, looking sincere: "Thank you for your blessings."
"We definitely will."
At this moment, a familiar voice sounded from behind: "And me, Sister Ruan, I also prepared a gift for you."
Jiang Ruan turned her head to see Xiao Chen coming in, holding an album.
Up close, Xiao Chen handed it to Jiang Ruan: "These are photos I collected online over the past couple of days of you and Mr. Bao from your debut until now, including some of your joint photos; each photo includes a timeline."
Xiao Chen smiled: "Sister Ruan, consider it a keepsake."
"Of course, this is just the beginning for you and Mr. Bao, your photos will multiply from now on."
Jiang Ruan was quite taken aback, looking at the thick album.
She reached out and took it.
Opening the first page, she saw herself three years ago, looking young and fresh, at an event where she stood on stage with Bao Ye.
Back then she was particularly slim, wearing something cute, standing beside Bao Ye.
It felt like an adult and a child.
Photo after photo, all taken by paparazzi of her and Bao Ye.
Tears welled up more in Jiang Ruan’s eyes; she wiped them away, looking at Xiao Chen, at a loss for words.
Her voice was choked: "Thank you, Xiao Chen."
Xiao Chen was startled, eyes widening like walnuts: "Sister Ruan, please don’t cry, crying isn’t pretty."
Jiang Ruan choked out a laugh.
Nearby assistants said: "That was quite direct of you to say; Sister Ruan is always the prettiest no matter the time."
"Exactly, exactly."
Others chimed in.
Listening, Jiang Ruan couldn’t cry anymore; she composed herself and said to Xiao Chen: "Still, thank you."
"Speaking of your acting just now, it was quite convincing," Jiang Ruan said teasingly. "That expression, that performance - it’s a shame not to pursue acting; you really fooled me just now. I thought something serious happened at the company, like it was shutting down."
Xiao Chen laughed cheerfully: "That was Sister Qin’s idea; I just played along."
"Forget the acting; I’m socially awkward."
Sister Qin nearby said: "We wanted to surprise you, had to think of a way to draw you over."
"Let’s cut the cake first, taste the cake they made, then take a group photo to keep as a memory."
Jiang Ruan: "Okay."
The cake was just enough to give everyone present a piece each. Carrying the cake, Jiang Ruan was ushered to the center spot.
The phone was supported by a stand, Xiao Chen set a countdown, then quickly ran back.
A few seconds later, everyone, with cake in hand and bright smiles, was captured in a photograph.
In the middle, Jiang Ruan looked even more radiant, with a sweeter smile.
Jiang Ruan’s analysis was spot-on; finishing her remark, she couldn’t help but sigh: "To think about it, your dad’s quite detached from fame and fortune, considering how many men would, at most, cause havoc, risk losing their reputation, accept being labeled as scoundrels, and absolutely not take responsibility."
