Fake Husband of the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 22 - 0: Have you never cohabited with someone in a relationship?
Gu Feng left the nightclub around midnight and went to the hotel to retrieve his luggage first.
Then he had the driver take him to the apartment Lin Yue had found for them.
It was right in the Pudong district.
A mid-to-high-end community.
Four-bedroom layout.
As soon as he entered, he noticed a pair of women’s slippers where the shoes were kept.
And all the lights inside were, surprisingly, turned on.
Just as Gu Feng was about to ask if anyone was there, he saw Lin Yue poking her head out from the side bedroom.
"You’re back so soon? I thought you guys would hang out till late into the night." Lin Yue watched Gu Feng warily and tentatively asked, "Are you drunk?"
She was worried that a drunken Gu Feng might get the wrong idea about her.
Seeing her guarded gaze, Gu Feng couldn’t help but tease her, "Drunk, and still managed to get my luggage from the hotel in a daze."
Seeing the luggage he was pushing, Lin Yue breathed a sigh of relief.
Pointing to another room, she said, "You take the master bedroom."
Gu Feng pulled his luggage into the room she had indicated, hung his clothes neatly on hangers, and stuffed them into the wardrobe.
Then, out of curiosity, he went to the side bedroom to see what Lin Yue was busy with: "Did your aunt let you move in today?"
"No." Lin Yue took out her toothbrush, shower gel, and cosmetics from her large tote bag and started arranging them in the bathroom.
Gu Feng: "Then what are you doing?"
Lin Yue: "I need to set everything up in advance. If my mom comes tomorrow and doesn’t see my stuff here, will she believe that I’ve been living with you? I’ll leave once I’m done."
Her reasoning made sense.
However, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, Gu Feng asked with a half-smile, "Can I make a suggestion?"
Lin Yue, who had been crouching and busying herself, looked up at him with her beautiful eyes, a questioning look in her gaze.
"If you’re trying to create the impression of living together like you said, shouldn’t you put your things directly in my bedroom? Don’t couples in the throes of love share a bathroom and bedroom when living together? Or do you sleep separately when you live with your boyfriend?"
Lin Yue was stunned, then spent some time seriously digesting what Gu Feng had said.
Seeing her struggle and look puzzled, Gu Feng asked doubtingly, "You’ve never cohabited with anyone before?"
Lin Yue’s pretty face turned red as she looked down.
Indeed, she hadn’t!
From middle school to after graduating from college, she had never even been in a relationship, let alone lived with someone.
But she had at least seen TV shows and knew that what Gu Feng said made sense. It was just her personal blind spot that caused her to overlook the details.
So, she picked up her large bag and headed toward Gu Feng’s bedroom.
Gu Feng helped her move the toiletries she had just arranged in the bathroom to the bathroom of his own bedroom.
"Sometimes I really can’t figure out why you women have so many types of cosmetics, what are they all for?"
Lin Yue’s voice came from outside the bathroom, with a hint of mockery, "Don’t you understand cohabitation? Don’t you know the sets of a woman’s cosmetics?"
Gu Feng gave a wry smile.
When he came out of arranging things in the bathroom, he saw Lin Yue, frightened, quickly shutting the wardrobe door tightly.
As Gu Feng approached the wardrobe, she leaned against it, blushing and asked nervously, "What are you doing?"
Bewildered, Gu Feng responded, "Getting clothes, how can I meet your mother tomorrow reeking of alcohol without taking a shower? If you’re done with your part, you can go back. I’ll handle the rest of the details."
Lin Yue handed him one of his T-shirts through a crack in the wardrobe.
Gu Feng, speechless, said, "I also need a towel and shorts."
Lin Yue’s face flushed instantly, and she hesitated to help him; disgust and aversion were visible in her eyes.
Gu Feng had no choice but to move her aside and open the wardrobe to get them himself.
As soon as he opened the wardrobe, he saw black, airy lace chiffon nightgowns and several sets of underwear, some with openwork designs, some with minimal fabric...
Gu Feng was taken aback for a moment before he realized why Lin Yue was so nervous.
"What are you looking at!" Lin Yue slid over, using her body to cover the personal, private garments she had arranged, and said with a flushed face and a scolding tone, "Just get your stuff quickly. I warn you, don’t you dare touch my things after I leave."
The two of them stood face to face at close quarters.
Gu Feng could smell the gentle fragrance on her.
He quickly grabbed the towel and shorts he’d brought and turned towards the bathroom.
As Lin Yue heard the sound of water running from the tap, her face felt warm, and she left the bedroom without a moment’s delay.
When Gu Feng came out wrapped in a bath towel, he found that Lin Yue had already left.
———
The next day, Mrs. Lin came early in the morning with Lin Yue.
She had packed several suitcases of Lin Yue’s things from home, indicating she was sending her daughter over for good.
Upon entering, Mrs. Lin began inspecting the entire apartment.
Lin Yue noticed that Gu Feng had filled in the different details that had changed since last night.
The many daily necessities she bought last night were new because her mother would surely notice if they were taken from home.
Her mother knew her daughter’s favorite skincare products and clothing brands very well.
So Lin Yue compared those to the new items she bought and arranged them.
Gu Feng had poured out a bit of the skincare products as well as toothpaste and lipstick to create the illusion they had been used for some time.
This was something Lin Yue hadn’t thought of.
There was also a cute women’s scale added to the living room.
And on the living room’s water bar, there were couples’ cups.
When Mrs. Lin saw her daughter’s personal clothes in Gu Feng’s bedroom and then saw Gu Feng handing her a cup of tea in the living room, she casually gave Lin Yue one of the couples’ cups.
And in his hand was coincidentally the matching cup for men.
Only then did Mrs. Lin let go of her doubts and believe that this son-in-law was not just someone her daughter had casually found to act a part, but that the two really had lived together for a while.
After taking a sip of tea, she set down her cup and began to formally inquire about everything concerning Gu Feng.
