Fake Husband of the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 101: Mom, I thank you on behalf of Gu Feng.
When Lin Yue’s secretary escorted Li Ming downstairs, the young lady at the reception finally saw Li Ming’s portrait on the cover of a magazine.
The entire cover and theme were about this newcomer to the financial world.
When the young lady realized that the gentleman who had just left the company was Li Ming, she covered her mouth, hardly able to believe it, nearly screaming.
But Lin Yue’s chief secretary made a "silence" gesture to her.
She entered the elevator and heard employees quietly discussing the topic, "What does President Lin’s husband do?" Lin Yue’s chief secretary chuckled softly, guessing she was probably the only one in the entire company who knew what the boss’s husband did.
Previously, everyone in the company knew that this group had survived a crisis because President Lin’s husband had stepped in to save the day.
But what he specifically did, no one knew.
Today, the chief secretary finally understood what President Lin’s mysterious husband did.
"Yu, I need you to run an errand and deliver these five cards to Ju and their family," Lin Yue said as she saw the chief secretary come back.
Yu nodded, "Yes, President Lin."
Before she left, Lin Yue said to her, "Yu, you’ve been with me since I joined the company. I think there are some things I don’t need to teach you how to handle."
Yu chuckled and nodded, "Don’t worry President Lin, I won’t gossip about it."
"Then you can leave after you’ve delivered them," Lin Yue said, as she herself was almost ready to leave.
Looking at the time, she also needed to buy some groceries ahead of time to cook dinner for Gu Feng.
When she arrived home carrying loads of groceries and opened the door, she saw her mother Liu Yan sitting on the sofa watching TV.
Then her cousin Lin Yu was actually cleaning.
"What brought you guys here?" Lin Yue was surprised.
Lin Yu hurriedly scampered over to help her carry the grocery basket.
He also complained, "Sis, you’re not out of money; hiring a maid wouldn’t kill you."
Liu Yan chimed in, "Exactly, get a maid and make things easier for yourself."
Lin Yue, feeling a bit guilty, responded casually, "It’s just Gu Feng and me at home; we can manage by ourselves."
In fact, they hadn’t hired anyone because they were afraid that with an extra person in the house, it might become obvious that they slept separately and their relationship didn’t resemble that of a married couple. If word got out, it could be bad for both families.
Lin Yu curiously asked, "Sis, why is that room locked?"
Lin Yue panicked inside but kept a calm face, "It’s a storeroom. It doesn’t look good if guests come in and see it open, so I keep it locked."
Actually, it was her and Gu Feng’s bedroom which luckily she had locked, or what would her mother think if she found out?
Lin Yue just wanted to send them off quickly, "You didn’t even say you were coming. I didn’t buy enough groceries for four people to eat."
Liu Yan sat on the sofa, looking at her daughter, and asked, "Did you ask me about the transfer records today because you want to take back that money from Feng?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Did you come here just to ask me that?" Lin Yue was speechless.
Liu Yan said, "I’m telling you not to even think about laying hands on that money. That’s meant for Feng. I know your company has been right on track recently and needs funds to grow, but your uncle can help you with the loan. Don’t go to Feng for that money."
Lin Yue already knew about Gu Feng’s company’s business model and its ability to snowball funds.
According to what Li Ming said, if her 50 million could turn into 300 million, then the initial startup fund from her mother could have snowballed into how much?
Thinking of this, Lin Yue looked weirdly at her mother, "Mom, you’re really not planning to take back that money?"
Liu Yan shook her head, "Feng’s family has helped ours so much. Consider that money spent by me, his mother-in-law."
Lin Yue gave her mom a thumbs up and laughed, "You are truly generous!"
She wanted to laugh inside—what if her mom knew that Tianfeng was actually Gu Feng’s company and her capital was continually rolling there? She wondered if her mom would be shocked.
A billion might not bother Liu Yan, but what about several billions? Had she ever seen that much money in her life?
"My generosity is all for you. Our family is wholeheartedly supportive of him, so in return, he won’t mistreat my daughter," Liu Yan carelessly said, "Consider that money as part of the dowry from Lin Family."
"Mom." Lin Yue teased, covering her mouth as she laughed, "Then I, on behalf of Gu Feng, thank you."
Liu Yan waved her hand and continued munching on sunflower seeds while watching a patriotic TV drama.
Lin Yue, looking at Lin Yu bustling about cleaning, asked, "What are you doing here?"
Lin Yu said proudly, "I came to help my brother-in-law run some errands, to see if there’s anything here I can help with in the future."
"No way. There’s no room for you here," Lin Yue huffed.
Lin Yu said, "Of course, I wouldn’t stay overnight here. If I were to interfere with you two having kids, I’d be beyond redemption!"
Lin Yue’s face turned red, and she scolded, "Quickly wash the groceries, Gu Feng will be back soon."
Liu Yan glanced into Lin Yue’s various bags, spotted a bottle of fine red wine, and could tell her daughter planned to treat her son-in-law well that evening.
She sneaked a smile and urged Lin Yu in the kitchen, "Little Yu, once you’re done washing, we should head back too."
