Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 48: Ch : Because of you
Chapter 48: Ch 48 : Because of you
Noel walked into the Tower of Heaven at an unhurried pace.
It wasn't that no one tried to stop him—rather, every single person who attempted to block his path was effortlessly struck down.
With Noel's strength, these guards, who weren't even on par with ordinary mages, posed no obstacle to him.
They couldn't even manage to delay him for a moment.
"As expected... this aura feels familiar." Noel furrowed his brows as he looked up toward the top floor of the Tower of Heaven.
The powerful and eerie dark energy emanating from there gave him an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had encountered it somewhere before.
Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall where. "Where exactly have I felt this before?"
Though his mind was preoccupied with these thoughts, his steps did not falter.
Soon, he entered the interior of the Tower of Heaven.
However, the first sight to greet him was not enemies, but a table full of food—and Natsu and his group devouring it enthusiastically.
"You guys... how did you get in here?" Noel asked curiously as he looked at them.
"Ah," Gray stopped eating and explained, "we came in through an underwater route. But it looks like we were still discovered in the end. What a hassle."

Natsu, still stuffing his face, waved a piece of food toward Noel and said, "Noel, want some? This is really good!"
"I'll pass. I don't need it." Noel waved his hand dismissively before shifting the conversation. "Let's focus on finding Erza first. Do you guys have any leads?"
"That door earlier... it was remotely controlled with magic, wasn't it? Looks like we've been completely discovered," Juvia the Rain Woman analyzed.
"Didn't you guys notice? Halfway to this island, someone was already using magic to observe us. It's probably the master of this tower watching us," Noel said.
From the moment they approached the island, he had sensed someone spying on them from afar.
However, knowing was one thing, and breaking the surveillance spell was another.
Besides, since they had already been discovered, disabling the spell wouldn't change anything, so Noel chose not to act on it.
"Then what's the purpose of all this?" Lucy pondered aloud.
"They're probably provoking us," Gray suggested.
"By the way, Princess," Virgo suddenly spoke up, pointing at Lucy's swimsuit. "Wearing such an outfit in a dining hall is quite indecent."
As soon as she finished speaking, Virgo's eyes glowed red, sending a shiver down Lucy's spine. "Please change immediately."
"Here?!" Lucy barely had time to react before Virgo took matters into her own hands, forcibly changing Lucy's outfit.
Seeing this, Noel's expression became slightly unnatural, and he had no choice but to look away.
Before long, Lucy was dressed in an outfit from the Celestial Spirit World.
"Good luck, Princess," Virgo said before disappearing back into the Celestial Spirit World.
"Intruders spotted!"
Just as the group was talking, a group of Tower of Heaven guards suddenly stormed in, preparing to subdue them.
However, before Noel and the others could even make a move, a red figure flashed by in an instant, swiftly taking down all the guards.
"Erza," he softly uttered the name of the person who had just arrived.
Seeing the group, Erza's face showed a hint of surprise. "Why are you all here?"
"Why..." Lucy was just about to answer when Erza sternly cut her off. "Go back. This is not a place you should be."
Noel slightly narrowed his eyes, locking his gaze onto Erza. "I will not break my promise, Erza."
As soon as he said that, Noel fell silent.
He knew the others might not understand what he meant, but Erza would definitely know.
Erza's body trembled slightly at his words.
After a moment of silence, memories of that evening at dusk resurfaced in her mind—Noel's slightly sorrowful smile back then.
Staring into those determined eyes, Erza suddenly became inexplicably angry.
"Enough, Noel. I don't know about your past, but that promise of yours... you're just treating me as someone's replacement, aren't you? I hate that."
Slap!
A sharp, resounding slap echoed in the air.
Everyone was left stunned, staring in shock at what had just happened.
Even Erza, who had just been slapped by Noel, was completely dumbfounded.
Noel lowered his head, making it impossible to see his expression.
His fists clenched tightly, and his voice became lower than ever before.
"Is that... what you really think, Erza? Have you always thought that?" His tone carried an eerie calm, but an unmistakable hint of pain.
"I did say... I once made the same promise to someone but failed to keep it. But I have never once said that I see you as her... Is that really how you see me? That I'm just treating you as a replacement? Answer me, Erza."
"Noel, I..." Erza stared at him, her expression conflicted, unable to find the words to respond.
"Listen to me carefully."
Noel suddenly grabbed Erza's shoulders, his deep blue eyes locking onto her crimson ones.
"I have never treated you as someone else. You are Erza. And I made that promise to you because you are Erza. Do you understand?"
"...I'm sorry, Noel. I... I've misunderstood you all this time," Erza lowered her head and spoke softly after a moment of silence.
Her voice was filled with remorse and guilt.
Hearing Erza's words, Noel finally released her shoulders, and a smile once again appeared on his face. "That's right. I—no, we—will not abandon you. If the darkness in your heart is tied to this place, then let us help you clear it away."
"Noel is right, Erza," Natsu added. "If we just back down after being looked down on like this, it would damage Fairy Tail's reputation! There's no way I'm letting that square-headed idiot get away with this! And besides, Happy was taken! There's no way I'm just gonna go back like this! Alright, I get it now—Happy is waiting for me!"
As soon as Natsu finished speaking, he seemed to pick up on Happy's scent and immediately dashed off.
"Noel... everyone..." Erza stood there, staring at them in a daze.
"This isn't like you at all, Big Sis Erza," Gray said. "You should be saying, 'Follow me!' just like always. We'll have your back."
"I'm sorry," Erza's eyes suddenly filled with tears as she looked at everyone.
"No matter whether we win or lose this battle... I will disappear from the outside world. That is a future I cannot fight against. So... so... while I still exist, let me tell you everything..."
