Extreme Almightiest Young Master-Chapter 2130 - 2112: A Diary
"Is that true?"
After listening to Elder Wang, Fang Yan finally understood what was happening. He looked toward the distant ruins, and with just his eyes, he could clearly see it was definitely not a projection! Closing his eyes, he covered the area with his Divine Sense and could distinctly feel the ruins indeed resting on the lake’s surface. But as he tried to attack in this state, something unbelievable happened—his Divine Sense touched nothing as if the ruins were merely an illusion!
Having reached this conclusion, Fang Yan realized the situation was extraordinary. Typically, ruins are guarded by Demon Beasts or protected by Formation traps, but the current scenario was unprecedented—even he couldn’t make sense of it initially.
Scanning the area with his Divine Sense, he noticed members from various Sects sighing in frustration around the lake, including the Holy Soul Sect, which was also stuck outside. This made Fang Yan frown, his intuition hinting that there was more to these ruins than met the eye.
"I’ll take a look." With a heart full of doubt, Fang Yan uttered, then stepped into the void and came directly above the ruins. He closed his eyes, trying to uncover the truth of the situation.
Surprisingly, for the first time, his otherwise infallible Divine Sense came up empty. Even when Fang Yan later tried to physically touch it, he found nothing. For a moment, Fang Yan was at a loss for what to do.
Under the gaze of the crowd, Fang Yan returned to the shore and closed his eyes as if in deep meditation...
Who knows how long passed before Fang Yan suddenly opened his eyes, glowing with excitement. After glancing at the crowd and Elder Wang beside him, Fang Yan pulled Elder Wang aside and whispered, "I’ve thought of a way to enter, but with so many people here, what happens to those outside if I go in?"
Fang Yan truly had an entry method, yet the problem was that if he went in, others would follow, potentially jeopardizing the exploration of the ruins. He lacked relevant information, so he didn’t want to be caught off guard.
"You really can enter?" Elder Wang asked immediately, in disbelief. They had been waiting for days with no clue, yet Fang Yan claimed he could enter—was it true or false? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Of course, if my guess is correct, the ruins are protected by a special Formation. I can try to break it, but I don’t want others to rush in and reap the benefits without effort," Fang Yan whispered.
"I see..." Elder Wang, now convinced, thought of ways to keep the crowd at bay should Fang Yan succeed, though he found it challenging since the ruins were right there. If Fang Yan broke the Formation, no one would sit by idly.
After much contemplation without a viable solution, Elder Wang suddenly had an idea and told Fang Yan, "What if we deceive them into leaving?"
"That’s possible, but we need a strategy that won’t arouse suspicion," Fang Yan nodded, acknowledging this as a potentially optimal plan.
They began discussing specifics but found no perfect strategy. Ultimately, Fang Yan and Elder Wang agreed that, with nothing pressing, everyone could cultivate here, waiting to see who would prevail. If anyone broke the Formation, the others would benefit as well.
With this framework set, members of the Divine Sword Sect chose spots to cultivate, ceasing thoughts of entering the ruins, as such opportunities were rare and they didn’t want to pave the way for other Sects...
...
On this day, Lin Feng finally decided to leave, placing all the women into the Cave Heaven Treasure. He then stepped into a Teleportation Formation he had hastily modified, connecting him to a world with only spatial coordinates. Having mastered the arrangement of Teleportation Formations, he could now move between Cultivation Worlds at will once provided with spatial coordinates.
A flash of white light!
Upon arriving in another Cultivation World, Lin Feng opened his eyes to an unimaginable sight—he found himself inside a cave of a stone mountain, surrounded by thousands of miles of barren sand with no sign of life!
This was unlike the Mystic God Star he had encountered before. The entire environment reeked of death, a corrosive aura permeating everything, making Lin Feng uncomfortable.
Frowning slightly, Lin Feng soared into the air. Given its connection to the Profound Dragon Cultivation World, this realm should have once been more powerful. Yet it had fallen into such a state, indicating a hidden cause behind its decay, prompting him to uncover the issue!
Traveling eight thousand miles at a step, Lin Feng zipped across the endless desert with his Divine Sense probing relentlessly. After traversing millions of miles, he saw nothing but the oppressive sand and lingering deathly aura, ever-present and unyielding.
What on earth was happening?
Lin Feng hovered mid-air, looking down at the boundless desert as confusion tightened his brow. How could a thriving Cultivation World degrade so completely without a cause? Unable to deduce the reason after much thought, he had no choice but to continue exploring, hoping for clues.
The following day, Lin Feng made a discovery in the desert—a half-buried Temple poking through the sands, sparking a glimmer of hope. He swiftly approached the Temple, entering as he observed the structure.
The Temple was immense and pyramidal, which explained why it hadn’t been entirely buried by the desert, its peak the only part visible.
Upon entering, Lin Feng saw an altar with once-worshipped idols and several human mummies beneath it. It wasn’t hard to imagine those who had perished mid-prayer.
Suddenly, he noticed one of the central mummies clutching a book, sparking further intrigue. Carefully, he retrieved the book and gingerly opened it.
"Sun Profound 1389, May 7, the sun shone bright, farmers were harvesting their crops, smiles on every face..."
"Sun Profound 1389, May 9, the Pope visited..."
"Sun Profound 1389, May 15, the sun seemed unusually hot, weather changes unfolded..."
...
As Lin Feng read on, he realized it was a diary, likely belonging to a Temple caretaker, akin to a priest. It recorded various trivialities about the Temple with no special clues, leading him to skim ahead.
Until he found this entry!
"Sun Profound 1398, June 3, the heavens suddenly changed, a sun fell from the sky, an apocalyptic plague blanketed the continent, even the land infected, turning into sand, the entire Sun Profound continent was destroyed..."
At this, Lin Feng’s eyes gleamed, piecing together the origin of the sandy desolation—an ecological catastrophe had ravaged the planet, annihilating everything and morphing the land to sand. He never anticipated such a cause for the world’s collapse!
Calming himself, Lin Feng continued reading.
"Sun Profound 1398, June 4, the plague claimed lives, increasing fatalities. God, why must we endure this suffering..."
"Sun Profound 1398, June 6, half are dead, with few survivors. The farmland has completely become desert. Facing this plight, everyone is in despair, awaiting their demise..."
"Sun Profound 1398, June 10, We few left at the Ir Temple are all infected by the dreadful plague as we pray for divine intervention..."
The entries ended here. Profoundly moved, Lin Feng realized that within just six days, the earth turned to sand, and everyone had perished—a cataclysmic disaster!
Placing the diary back in the mummy’s hands, Lin Feng walked out of the Temple, laden with a heavy heart.
His instincts told him the disaster was suspicious, its ability to destroy a Cultivation World beyond terrifying. Such disasters shouldn’t exist naturally, yet here was the Sun Profound Continent—annihilated, its civilization extinct, all reduced to sand!
But as he pondered, Lin Feng recalled another factor—even if the world was plagued, some people should have survived, and there had to be an ocean here!
With that thought, hope ignited in Lin Feng’s heart once more. He soared into the sky, darting toward an arbitrary direction, deploying Thousand Miles in One Step ceaselessly.
