Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss-Chapter 163: Dangerous Questions
Ren's hand snapped out, grabbing Lilith's shoulder. She froze. She was already halfway out of her seat, a snarl on her face and her hands reaching for Valen.
Valen didn't even flinch at the motion, staring straight at Ren.
Lilith glanced at Ren in confusion, before glaring at Valen and slowly sitting back down.
"Why do you ask, Valen?" Ren asked as he lifted his hand off Lilith's shoulder, a pleasant smile on his face. Through everything that had just happened, he hadn't even broken eye contact with Valen.
If someone had been listening and not actually looking at them, they'll leave with the impression that it was just a lovely dinner, but the tension in the air was thick enough to be cut with a knife.
"It is very… strange for an Albion noble at the edge of the kingdom to know information that even I, a resident of Elnoria for many years, learnt by looking death in the eye." Valen said calmly.
"Are you calling me stupid?" Ren asked, chuckling.
"On the contrary." Valen's face twitched minutely. "I am in fact saying that you're very much… knowledgeable."
The two stared at each other.
"I'm from one of the noble families closest to the Elnorian border. My family is hundreds of years old. Who said we can't have that kind of information in our archives?" Ren said, still smiling but it didn't reach his eyes.
Thorn and Elias were ready for anything that could happen, hands already on the hilt of their swords, watching and waiting.
"You're asking dangerous questions, Valen." Ren said, feeling the weight of Freedom where it was sheathed on his back.
If it came down to it, he was perfectly willing to go against Valen. Besides, he was sure Lilith would be able to kill the man. And what's the use of an immortality based Divine Gift if you no longer have a soul?
"Let it go."
Valen stared at Ren for several seconds before speaking. "I guess I am asking questions in matters that are none of my business. My apologies, Lord Ren." He bowed slightly.
"I've told you, Valen, it's just Ren." Ren chuckled, the tension slowly dissipating into thin air. He knew Valen was reasonable. The man knew when not to press into things. Unlike the Penny Prince.
There was a few seconds of awkward silence, before Thorn hesitantly raised a hand. "Is it okay to ask questions now?"
"Boo!" Lilith jerked forward like she was about to lunge at Thorn and his scream filled the air, waking a few sleeping creatures of the night.

"Hahahahahaha!" Lilith was still laughing as they all said their goodbye, heading for their tents.
"Yeah, laugh it all up! I almost died! I almost died, you know! When you're alright in the head again, I shall have my revenge!" Thorn called out before slipping into his tent.
It only made Lilith laugh harder.
Ren chuckled, glancing at her. "Are you going to keep laughing throughout the night?"
Something about Ren's words set her off again and before long, her laughter morphed into a deranged chuckle.
"Lilith?" Ren put a hand on her shoulder, staring at her in concern. "Are you okay?"
"Boo!" Lilith jerked forward, trying to scare Ren but he just stared blankly at her. "Awwwn." She pouted. "Couldn't you have acted scared?"
"Let's go to bed, Lilith." Ren smiled at her.

Her eyes lit up at his words. "Yayyyy!"
Ren made his way to his tent, slipped inside, and a second later, the tent was well and truly cramped.
"Lilith?"
"Hmm?"
"Why are you in my tent snuggling with me?" Ren asked and Lilith lifted her head up from where she'd laid down, arms wrapped around Ren.
"Have you forgotten?" She grinned at him. "You said I could watch you sleep."
There was a beat of silence. "Oh." Ren chuckled sheepishly. "I did say that."
He shifted, opening his arms and Lilith hugged him with a squeal, laying on top of him. Together, they laid down for a few seconds, before Lilith spoke.
"Ren?"
"Yeah?"
"If we turn eighteen in Elnoria, we would get married there, won't we?"
There was only one correct answer. "Yes. Of course."
Silence.
"Can't we marry now?" Lilith pouted, pulling herself up to stare down at Ren. "Why do we have to wait till we're eighteen?"
"Remember my deal with your father." Ren frowned at her. "Will you make me into a dealbreaker?"
She sighed. "No." Then she laid back atop him.
Silence.
"If I was a worm, would you still love me?"
Ren almost sighed in exhaustion. Oh lord. What have I done?

Valen jerked awake and froze immediately.
Crouching at the entrance of the small, open tent, was a familiar lady, spinning a throwing knife in her hands. "Lady Lilith. To what do I owe the pleasure?" He asked calmly.
"Come." She said, and the tent flap dropped, cutting off his view of her.
Valen blinked, before sitting up. A few seconds later, he was outside the collections of tents with Lilith. He glanced at Ren's tent, but Lilith spoke, forcing him to look at her.
"Don't bother looking for Ren." She said coldly. "He's sleeping soundly. Disturb his peace and you'll die."
Valen stared at Lilith as she turned and began walking away, expecting him to follow. After another glance at Ren's tent, where the young man stirred in his sleep, he followed her.
After almost ten minutes of walking, Lilith stopped, turning to face him. "I heard you can't die."
Valen narrowed his eyes at her words. Another thing she'd learnt from Lord Ren?
Lord Ren was in a word… suspicious. He had secrets and Valen was still caught on the fence between uprooting them and letting them go. But for now, he had a new opponent in front of him.
"Yes." He answered. "You heard correctly."
The word was barely out of his mouth when Lilith blurred in front of him. He leaned back to evade her slashing claws but he wasn't fast enough.
A tearing sound filled the air and Valen, the master thief of Elnoria, died.
