Extra's Harem: Invincibility Starts with Marriage and lots of Children-Chapter 114 - The Duties of a Senior Wife
The king of the Azure Flame Kingdom had a total of three wives, marrying the first two for political gain and support as he ascended to the throne, while the third was more like a childhood friend whom he married out of love.
The second queen had two children, while the third had one—my wife, Aleriana.
Unlike the first one, who had three children in total, creating a total of six individuals eligible for the throne of the kingdom.
It was natural that each of them would try to amass as much support as possible to ascend to the throne.
Given the support from the aristocracy and nobles, the chances of the children of the first queen being in the line of succession were the highest, clearly showing who might become the next ruler to the rest of the kingdom.
This perception changed, however, when the name of Prince Orion, son of the second queen, was mentioned.
The second queen had two sons—Orion Vandreat and Alden Vandreat.
Though Alden was clearly arrogant and effeminate, as I recall, his voice and demeanor were that of a prince, but his slender hand and the way he gripped my shoulder, even with a tactful-like physique, made me clearly recall what happened in the library that day.
Of course, I had to somehow visit the library again to get my hands on the Progeny Stone, considering Alden had taken the whole section of the books among which the Progeny Stone was.
But that was not the problem here; it was Prince Orion, to be exact, who was second in line for the potential king.
Even though I did not want to accept it, given my determination to make Aleriana the queen, it was an undeniable fact that among all the princes, the first queen's three sons had the highest probability, while Orion, outnumbering the two among those three, was second in line.
The major problem starts from the fact that the immortal with whom the final battle of this volume starts had materialized himself in none other than Orion's body, a clear indication of how much potential he had to become a vessel for an immortal descended from the upper realm.
'No, was the Exorcism Sect supporting the second queen all along?' There was confusion, as I did not understand the political game as much as Aleriana did.
But considering the mention at some point where the Exorcism Sect seemed to switch between the first queen and the second, it was clear that just like how the Ghost Sect had different factions for alliance, even the Exorcism Sect had it.
But the major support for them, as per Aleriana's word, was Prince Orion—the son of the second queen.
"Kyle?" A voice pulled me out of my thoughts as I turned to look towards Aleriana, who seemed genuinely worried, prompting me to just sigh as I realized that I shouldn't be making myself appear so entangled in this political game and ruin my married life.
Putting on a smile, I teased with an elbow nudging her, adding with a smirk, "Just call me husband or hubby, my love."
:: Stop being too cringe! ::
I ignored the crow's voice and focused on the alluring sight in front of me.
"...Hm," Aleriana simply hummed, but her voice felt as comforting as a warm shower on a winter morning.
Her face was as refreshing as that early morning sleep after a long night, and her scent floated on the breeze like the first rain, making me want to lose myself in it.
"Tch, hope you do not forget our morning's deal." Letting my hand slowly move towards her with my forefinger touching hers, I wrapped around her hand, giving a smile while thinking of getting back the aura I lost to her on my first wedding night—being a man who couldn't even satisfy his wife.
Nor did she say anything, but my male pride was clearly hurt.
"What promise?" Aleriana outright rejected my expectations, which I knew she did intentionally but uncaringly.
As there was no escape even if she tried to act ignorant, I prompted a chuckle before turning towards Olea.
It was a fleeting moment when sudden realization hit me.
I had just ignored her presence all along, prompting me to say something, but I stopped.
For a fleeting moment, I could see her eyes glancing towards my hand, which was wrapped around Aleriana's fingers, then at me.
Though I knew she was dense, I was not, which made me offer my hand to her.
Knowing well about her not having any romantic interest in me, I just added, "Would you mind holding onto me for a bit? I might just fall for you otherwise."
"...fine." As always, she did not get my words in any way, but bluntly she held my hand.
Though it was more than enough, it felt good to have both my fingers entangled with delicate ones, reminding me that maybe, in a busy life running from job to home while freeing myself, reading the stories, I may have missed what it meant to have a real life where love was part of it.
Maybe in my past world, due to having toxic relationships or unsuccessful ones, I lost the hope to ever find true love.
But now it appeared as if I may have truly been blessed by at least some people who could be part of my life, even if it all was just an illusion.
An illusion is far more real than reality for anyone trying to escape it.
'Haha, soft, too soft...'
:: Pervert ::
'Jealousy looks good on you, but don't worry… there's room for one more over my head.'
:: Shut up, You insolent human. ::
'!'
'Wait,' suddenly my feet halted as I settled towards the forest. In front of me were hovering four windows, eyes blinking as I saw each one of them.

'I nearly forgot about them,' looking towards the four windows hovering over the four dead bodies of the elders of the Exorcism Sect, I just realized how it was simply a marriage gift to my new wife.
As my eyes lingered towards the forest through which I could see a red aura slowly approaching us, clearly that of Mialthara, making me smirk inwardly as I knew exactly how to lure that blood demoness into my trap.
"Hey, Olea, you wanted to know the secret of Aleriana's strength boost, right?" Letting my hands leave theirs, I turned my gaze towards Olea, who seemed to be surprised.
Considering it appeared she was thinking of something else, she looked towards me in confusion while glancing towards Aleriana as if hesitant to reply, but she gave a nod.
It was clear that her desperation for strength to take revenge for her parents would naturally make her want to know the way to become strong as fast as Aleriana.
And considering she had already offended Prince Orion, I could not just leave her be in Early 6th layer like that.
"Aleriana, can you help her with the flow of Qi?" I turned my gaze towards Aleriana, who also seemed to understand my words as her eyes glanced towards me with visible wideness, and the tremble of her lips gave away her surprise.
"Wait? Do you mean—?" But before she could complete her words, I clearly glanced towards Mialthara, who seemed to just arrive, before turning my gaze towards Olea and stated, "Yes, it's a marriage gift from me to her. I hope you help her out as senior wife, Aleriana..."
