Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System-Chapter 538 - 199: Daily Life and Martial Arts Examination_2
"This is nowhere near the end!" Zhang Beixing remarked, walking toward Chen Rourou.
Hearing his words, Chen Rourou’s face turned deathly pale, her eyes wide with terror. With a sudden burst of strength from who knows where, she clawed at the ground, scrambling backward as she pleaded, "No... don’t, Master! Please, don’t do this!" Her voice was choked with sobs; she was utterly terrified of the "special measure" Zhang Beixing had mentioned.
But Zhang Beixing seemed oblivious, remaining unmoved as he strode purposefully toward her. His imposing figure cast a long, menacing shadow in the moonlight, gradually engulfing Chen Rourou. As she watched in helpless horror, Zhang Beixing reached out and pressed his hand firmly onto her shoulder.
It’s over! Chen Rourou’s heart lurched; this was bad.
Just as she was about to struggle, Zhang Beixing’s voice came. "Take a deep breath and relax. Pain is perfectly normal."
Immediately, a piercing pain shot through Chen Rourou. But she could do nothing; she was completely at his mercy. She closed her eyes in despair, a tear tracing a path down her cheek. These were tears of regret! If only I had known, why did I even bother!
Meanwhile.
HMPH. With that, Zhang Beixing finally finished his work. He let out a long breath and removed his hand from Chen Rourou. Just as he was about to say something, he was met by the sight of Chen Rourou’s current state.
Seeing her devastated expression, as if she had been utterly ravaged, Zhang Beixing’s lips twitched. "What are you doing? What’s with that look?" he demanded. "Stop looking like you’re at death’s door. Are you trying to make me look bad? All I did was use the Postnatal Five Qi to condition your muscles and meridians, alleviating your fatigue so you could train a little longer. Is such a dramatic reaction really necessary?"
This is a classic case of ’the dog biting Lü Dongbin’—not recognizing a kind heart, Zhang Beixing thought. I went to all the trouble of using my Postnatal Five Qi to restore your body, and this is the thanks I get? Good thing no one else is here. If anyone saw you like this, they’d misunderstand and think I’d actually done something terrible to you!
Chen Rourou ignored him. She simply sat on the ground, hugging her knees, feeling her muscles, which were no longer aching with fatigue thanks to Zhang Beixing’s treatment. Her strength was slowly returning. Her eyes were vacant, her expression one of utter despair.
This is the fourth time already. This afternoon, every time she cried out in exhaustion, Zhang Beixing would use his Postnatal Five Qi to rejuvenate her body, forcing her to continue training. His guiding principle seemed to be: if it doesn’t kill you, train harder—practically to death. Chen Rourou had lost count of how many times her spirit had shattered during this ordeal. All I know is that I’m probably... about to start training again.
Sure enough, as this thought surfaced, Zhang Beixing’s voice came from beside her. "Alright, that’s enough moping. Rest for ten minutes, then we continue. This is the last session. After you’re done, I’ll treat you again, and that’ll be it for today’s training. We’ll continue tomorrow!"
"Tomorrow?! Again?!" Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, Chen Rourou, who was already on the verge of breaking down, completely shut down. Right now, my life feels like an endless, dark tunnel, with no light in sight. To be saddled with such an inhuman master... I, Chen Rourou, am truly... impressed!
As Chen Rourou muttered her grievances under her breath, time passed quickly.
「The next day, early morning.」
Zhang Beixing woke up and, as usual, first went to the training grounds to run a few laps and warm up. On the way, he encountered a few people also out for their morning exercise. Surprisingly, they were all his fans. Zhang Beixing greeted them, took a photo with them, and then headed to the cafeteria for breakfast.
While eating, he took out his phone to check the class schedule sent by his academic advisor. He noticed the class schedule wasn’t as packed as before. That makes sense. After all, we’re about to graduate and leave campus soon. In these final few months, apart from those preparing for postgraduate entrance exams, everyone else is either getting ready for internships or working on their graduation theses. So, to prevent students from overworking themselves, the university has also made some adjustments.
Zhang Beixing mentally noted the schedule. After finishing his meal, he packed three portions of food and returned to his dormitory. As usual, he delivered a resounding slap to each of his three roommates to forcefully wake them up. He handed them the food he’d brought back. Once they finished eating, they all headed to the classroom together.
Returning to the familiar classroom and sitting in his usual seat after half a semester away, Zhang Beixing felt a wave of nostalgia. This feeling didn’t last long, however, because the class bell rang!
The teacher entered the classroom and began lecturing on what sounded like complete gibberish. Zhang Beixing, despite having just woken up and feeling 200% alert, found himself unconsciously drifting off into a deep, baby-like sleep.
It wasn’t until forty minutes later.
HMPH.
Zhang Beixing suddenly jolted awake from his slumber, looking bewildered at the empty lecturer’s desk and his classmates packing up to leave, utterly confused about what had just happened.
Just then, Lin Siqi, who was sitting next to him, finished packing her things. She stood up, looked at the bewildered Zhang Beixing, and asked, "Lao Zhang, are you heading off to your Martial Arts Training now?"
