Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 276: The Gaze of the Predator of Predators
The fight had already lasted five straight hours nonstop and Kaiser just wanted to close his eyes for one minute but he knew that if he stopped it would be death. For him, this battle was far more exhausting than the one against Aidan.
He did not stop though.
He leaped forward, his legs propelling his battered body toward her with determination still fully intact.
Katrina dove down to intercept him, using her wings to plunge toward him. Their weapons clashed again, this time in full motion, their bodies crossing in the air in a violent impact.
She struck quickly, chaining five wind-amplified blows in barely two seconds. Thrust toward the face, horizontal slash toward the neck, backhand toward the ribs, low thrust toward the groin, downward moulinet toward the shoulder. Kaiser blocked every strike and counter-attacked at the same time, his blades describing continuous arcs that gave her no respite.
Kaiser had taken the upper hand.
Ever since the Second Movement: Quarter Moon was fully deployed, every exchange favored him. Katrina attacked fast but every block from Kaiser became a counter.
The fight was reaching its climax. Kaiser chained movements with mechanical precision, his twin blades tracing tighter and tighter arcs around Katrina. He had now understood the rhythm of her attacks, the way she used the wind to amplify her strikes, and he adapted every second.
The blade sliced Katrina’s cheek, drawing a red line from her cheekbone to her jaw.
He gave her no respite.
He spun on himself, using the momentum to generate power, and his black blade described a perfect circular arc toward her neck. A fluid, precise, relentless movement. The blade whistled through the air at blinding speed, meant to sever her head cleanly from her shoulders and end this fight once and for all.
Katrina saw death coming. Her eyes widened enormously, her pupils dilating under the effect of fear. She would not have time to block and even less time to dodge. The blade was already too close.
’I didn’t want it to come to this, but... All of this is for you... Isaak.’
But at that exact instant, something changed radically in the atmosphere around her.
A demonic energy, black as the abyss and loaded with malevolence, suddenly erupted from her body in an explosion of raw power. The resulting shockwave struck Kaiser full force.
Kaiser spun through the air before crashing heavily against a collapsed wall twenty meters away, the stones crumbling under the impact.
He rose with difficulty, breathless, his hands seeking support on the rubble to stand. He looked at Katrina, and what he saw made him hesitate for a moment.
"What the hell is this?? Demonic mana???"
She was transformed. In addition to her elemental ice and wind magic that she already mastered perfectly, and in addition to her Sylphide spirit that was still resonating with her, she could now use demonic mana to multiply her power exponentially. Black wisps coiled around her arms and her frost wings, creating a striking contrast between glacial white and absolute black. Her eyes, already shining with a bluish glow, were now streaked with dark red lightning.
She raised her bow, and an arrow formed instantly on the string. But it was no longer a simple arrow of ice and wind. It was a dense, compact projectile, charged with demonic energy that pulsed like a beating heart, black waves rippling across its surface. She aimed at his heart with lethal precision.
"Shit.... I..."
Kaiser tried to stabilize himself, to regain his balance on legs that were still trembling from the explosion. He raised his blades to protect himself, but deep down he knew he was too slow, too far, too weakened by the accumulated injuries.
The arrow launched.
It crossed the space in a flash, leaving a black trail in its wake, a piercing whistle shredding eardrums.
"It’s over, Heir of the Paragons!" shouted Katrina, her voice ringing with newfound authority, amplified by the demonic power flowing through her veins.
Kaiser did not even have time to blink. The arrow was already halfway, then three-quarters, then a few meters from his chest. He saw death coming, once more, one time too many.
But suddenly, a blur crossed his field of vision.
"Huh!?"
A figure so fast it was almost invisible propelled him far away...
She stood right in front of Kaiser, slightly leaning forward, a faint smile on her lips.
"Even if you’re a fucking bastard, a liar, a manipulator..." Her voice was weak. "I finally did my bodyguard job. Protect my target."
Kaiser was stunned, completely dumbfounded by what had just happened. He hadn’t even seen Kara arrive, hadn’t sensed her presence. How could she have been so fast, so precise to intercept that arrow he couldn’t block?
He opened his mouth to speak...
"Thanks... I don’t know what I would do without my little Tsundere Kitsune—"
A gush of hot blood splashed across his face. The liquid ran down his cheek, into his eyes, over his lips.
"Kara??"
And that’s when he saw the gaping hole in her abdomen. It wasn’t a simple wound. It was a wide, deep cavity, the flesh charred at the edges by demonic energy, the inside exposed to open air. Blood poured abundantly, already forming a pool at their feet.
Kara turned her head toward him, her eyes already glassy, a final smile floating on her trembling lips.
"Sorry... boss..."
Then she fell sideways, heavily, her body hitting the ground with a dull thud that echoed in the sudden silence.
Kaiser remained frozen, on his knees, hands still outstretched toward her. He stared at her motionless body, at the blood still flowing from her wound, forming a dark puddle that spread inexorably.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"
A scream tore through the air.
A scream of rage, pain, absolute despair.
It was the first time he had cried in a long time...
He screamed, screamed until his voice broke, tears mixed with blood running down his cheeks, carving red trails through the grime and dust.
Another person he loved, disappearing before his eyes.
Another life he couldn’t protect.
His rage surged, crashing through him like a tidal wave. His already unstable aura literally exploded around him. The ground cracked in a circle. Debris flew in every direction.
He rose slowly, legs trembling under the effort, hands gripping the blades so tightly that the chain metal dug into his flesh. His gaze lifted toward Katrina, and what she saw in his eyes made her instinctively take a step back.
It was no longer a human gaze.
It was the gaze of the Predator of Predators...
