Chapter 271: How did she become so powerful??

Kaiser’s eyes shone with a vivid red as his aura pulsed...

[Warning! The Eye of Predation has been forcefully activated!!!]

Immediately, veins swelled around his eyelids. They throbbed in time with his heartbeat while the aura rushed toward his pupils, and a trickle of blood slid down his cheek without him bothering to wipe it away.

It was due to the excessive influx of Aura putting a severe strain on his eyes, and Kaiser knew it perfectly well.

His Farming aura was at its lowest. In this pitiful state he was in, at best, he was equivalent to an A-rank warrior.

But that limit no longer mattered.

Normally, Kaiser remained calm. Analyzing the next moves, he was not impulsive at all or someone who fought on instinct like Julian. Yet this time, something had broken. Scheme after scheme. Manipulation after manipulation. They had pushed him to the edge. He had overworked himself relentlessly, all for one single thing: to become strong enough to live a peaceful life with the women he loved.

"I wanted neither a throne nor to dominate anything. Just to survive... And in the end... simply peace."

And they had taken everything from him. Despite all his hard labor to achieve it, he certainly wasn’t an innocent soul. Everything happening to him, he deserved it. He had killed, betrayed for his goals, then discarded those who were no longer useful to him... But the rage... The rage he had buried deep inside slowly rose to the surface.

The rage to survive.

Several meters away, Katrina stood perched on the collapsed roof of a half-destroyed building. Yet she maintained perfect balance. A faint smile stretched her lips.

Her long white hair fell all the way down to the small of her back, the tips dyed black as if the shadow itself clung to them. Her half-elf face was delicate and her stature cute. With harmonious and soft facial features... her expression held nothing soft.

Her eyes gleamed with a cruelty that could send chills down the spine. She was clearly taking pleasure in seeing Kaiser in this state.

This was when one could truly realize that she really was a schizophrenic antagonist...

She tilted her head slightly, observing him the way one observes a wounded animal.

"And that’s two. Your little servant and now your father. You’re next, Kai... ser~"

She deliberately cut his name, savoring each syllable.

At that moment, Kaiser slowly turned his head toward her.

The air around him contracted.

A devastating aura erupted brutally. The debris on the ground vibrated. Shattered pieces of wood lifted a few centimeters before falling heavily back down.

Katrina’s smile faltered for a fraction of a second. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Oops!"

She immediately performed a backflip, her body tracing a supple arc through the air. The roof she had been standing on collapsed at the exact spot where Kaiser appeared.

Because he had not run, he had used repulsive aura to propel himself forward and was already in front of her in a fraction of a second.

His right hand shot out in a clean motion. Energy condensed in his palm and a black blade materialized instantly, emerging from his storage ring. Its smooth surface seemed to absorb the light.

Then he swung his arm down.

*FIIIIIIING!!*

The high-pitched sound of the slash cut through the air.

Katrina folded her body with an unreal flexibility, her torso bending backward until it nearly reached horizontal. The black blade passed mere millimeters from her face. A lock of white hair was cleanly severed. If she had been slow by even a thousandth of a second, her head would have been rolling on the ground.

Without losing a moment, she spun on herself using the momentum of her dodge. Her leg rose and traced a swift arc.

Her kick struck precisely toward his temple, but Kaiser raised his forearm just in time to block.

*BOOM*

The impact echoed with a sonic boom.

The heir of the Paragon county immediately felt the difference in power. The ground beneath his feet cracked before he was violently thrown backward. His body smashed through several already weakened walls. Stones shattered around him. He was sent flying dozens of meters before crashing heavily against a still-standing building.

A cloud of dust rose.

For a few seconds, everything seemed still.

Then, amid the rubble, Kaiser slowly stood back up. Blood dripped from his mouth. His red gaze remained fixed on Katrina.

"How can a half-elf be so physically strong??"

He murmured to himself, surprised. He suspected something was off.

His left hand rose.

A white blade appeared in his other hand, contrasting violently with the darkness of the first. This one radiated a cold light similar to that of the full moon.

In the distance, Katrina landed lightly on a remaining piece of wall. She observed the scene, her eyes narrowing because of the dust until the two blades became clearly visible.

Her smile widened slightly.

The wind blew between them, lifting the dust.

Kaiser took a step forward. The ground cracked under the combined pressure of his two auras.

The chains of the twin blades "Eclipses" suddenly wrapped tightly around his forearm. The links dug into the flesh without him flinching. The pain was quite intense but he was used to it; he didn’t really understand why that was the case. It was as if the sword wanted to merge with him.

Blood flowed down his wrist, but immediately a pure aura traveled up through the torn sleeve, following the chains like a pressurized current, until it reached the tips of both blades.

[Katrina Lancaster (Half-elf)

Strength: Ice and wind magic.

Weakness: strength

Level: Rank 6 mage / A- warrior (Dangerous)]

Kaiser clicked his tongue, annoyed.

’How can her weakness be strength when her raw power is so overwhelming.’

He remained motionless for a second, red eyes fixed on her. His instinct told him something was wrong. The data didn’t match what he had just experienced. His block had been perfect and he was confident in his physical ability, yet he had been thrown away like trash.

However, his rage clouded his analysis. He felt the doubt, then deliberately ignored it.

The temperature dropped sharply.

A freezing gust swept through the destroyed street. The ground became covered in a thin white film. Then, without warning, several arrows shot toward him.

They were not ordinary projectiles.

Each ice arrow was dense, streaked with bluish energy veins. When they struck the ground, they exploded with a sharp sound, releasing a freezing wave that instantly crystallized the area.

Kaiser threw himself to the side. An arrow exploded behind him. The pavement cracked before being completely encased in ice. A second one came from the right. He parried with his white blade. The impact made his arm vibrate. An icy explosion threw him back several meters.

He grimaced.

"Damn, how did she become so powerful."
