Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 160: The Gala Evening
Kaiser hadn’t seen Kara since after the training session, and just as he was about to go take his bath, he heard the intercom ring.
"Lord Paragon, a person named Kara wishes to see you," a mechanical voice interjected. "Do you wish to let her in?"
Kaiser raised an eyebrow upon hearing the name. Immediately his memories brought him back to their last encounter.
’I wonder what she’s going to say to me,’ Kaiser thought distractedly. ’Knowing her, she’ll just go straight to the point.’
"Yes, you can bring her up." Kaiser finally replied as he stepped into the shower.
Anyway, by the time Kara arrived, he should be almost finished or completely done with his bath.
Today he had to attend Ariana’s evening party, after yet another discussion with her. Kaiser had eventually learned that this party was supposed to be a welcome evening for the students who had just entered the academy at least officially.
But knowing her, it wasn’t hard to guess that she surely had other plans in mind. After all, she was that kind of girl, perfectly understanding the law of equivalent exchange in the world and taking full advantage of that very law.
After about fifteen minutes, Kaiser had almost finished getting ready when Kara finally appeared downstairs in the living room. It was the first time she had visited the manor.
"So, have you fallen in love with my manor?" Kaiser said while buttoning the cuff of his shirt at the top of the stairs.
Hearing the word "love," a shiver ran down Kara’s spine. Thinking she had heard something else before quickly pulling herself together.
"... What..." she began. "It’s true that it’s huge," she finally admitted.
"I’ll give you that," Kaiser smiled as he calmly descended the stairs. "So what brings about this sudden visit after you ignored me?" Kaiser asked bluntly once he reached her level.
She seemed a little surprised at first, but she also knew who Kaiser was. He was observant; he could choose not to speak, but he still knew the truth.
So she simply chose honesty. Anyway, she wasn’t really good at playing with words like Ariana.
"I... I wanted to apologize for last time," she began, an expression of regret on her face, she was actually quite cute. "I don’t really know what came over me. You wanted to help me and I... I..."
"It’s fine, I understand perfectly," Kaiser said while patting her head. "Besides, I wasn’t even angry at all..."
"Really? You’re really not angry?" she asked, her eyes widening, clearly delighted by it.
It had been eating at her for an entire day, but seeing that Kaiser had truly forgiven her, she suddenly felt... relieved.
"By the way, are you going somewhere?" she asked, noticing how dressed up Kaiser was.
"Well... to the welcome party," Kaiser said as if it were the most obvious thing. "Weren’t you invited too?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Upon hearing that, realization suddenly hit her. Haunted by her regrets, she had completely forgotten about that damn party.
"Shit, I totally forgot... I have to go," she blurted out before hurriedly rushing out to head back to her quarters and get ready.
Kaiser didn’t even have time to get a word in. So he simply watched her back disappear.
"And here I was planning to ask for your opinion," he muttered to himself with a sigh.
Once finished, Kaiser then headed to Ariana’s own manor, where she had chosen to hold the party.
The trip was short. Ariana’s manor wasn’t very far from his. As he approached, Kaiser could already see the building standing out in the night. The structure was vast, elegant without being excessive. Noble architecture made of light stone, wide columns, and large bay windows lit from within.
Magical lanterns floated gently along the main driveway, casting a warm light that contrasted with the surrounding darkness. Servants, perfectly aligned, greeted the guests with controlled gestures, their sober yet refined attire betraying the wealth of the house.
Kaiser stepped out of the vehicle without hurrying.
He wore a perfectly pressed black suit, fitted just enough to highlight his build without seeming ostentatious. He nevertheless had two rings on his right hand that added a small touch of elegance.
He briefly adjusted his cuffs before stepping forward.
Inside, the atmosphere was already well established.
The vast hall had been completely cleared for the occasion. Long tables covered with light tablecloths lined the walls, laden with refined dishes and carefully selected drinks. Musicians played a soft melody in the background, present enough to create an ambiance but never overpowering.
Conversations were flowing freely.
Groups formed and dispersed with the exchanges. Promising students, heirs of great families, political figures, and representatives of various factions mingled under the same roof. Officially, it was just a welcome party. Unofficially, it was an ideal playground to observe, assess, and weave connections.
Kaiser scanned the room.
He quickly spotted Adrian Dantalion.
The current head of the Dantalion faction stood not far from the center, surrounded by several people clearly eager to attract his attention. He wore a suit in sober colors but finely crafted, with subtle patterns discreetly recalling the winged lion emblem of his house. Every gesture exuded the confidence of someone accustomed to being listened to.
A bit farther away stood Godwin Pendragon.
A long dark coat, carefully fitted gloves; he too was speaking with a few students here and there.
Turning around, Kaiser also caught sight of Helia Von Stavenger. It was impossible to miss her.
She was entirely dressed in black. An elegant gown with simple but striking lines, contrasting sharply with the light colors worn by most of the guests.
’Always true to herself...’ Kaiser thought briefly.
Kaiser advanced calmly, nodding here and there when eyes met his. He wasn’t the star of the evening, but his name wasn’t unknown. Some whispered discreetly as he passed, others simply gave a polite nod.
He picked up a glass in passing without really paying attention. But as he turned, his gaze landed on his worst enemy, Kris, who was strolling around in an outfit as flashy as his personality, accompanied by his girlfriend, Scarlet Valerius. She was in a magnificent dress of vibrant green that perfectly hugged the contours of her body.
’And what if we went to add a little spice,’ Kaiser thought, a smile spreading across his face as he headed toward Kris.
"Oh, isn’t that the future duke and his fiancée," he said upon reaching them while sipping his wine.
When Kris turned and saw that it was that bastard who almost never left him alone, a frown appeared on his face. It was almost as if he was holding himself back from slapping him right then and there. But things were clearly not the same for his girlfriend.
Scarlet smiled while blushing because they weren’t officially engaged yet.
"Lord Paragon, I presume. Delighted to meet you in person."
"The one and only," Kaiser replied with his smile, almost completely ignoring Kris who was on the verge of exploding. "Likewise, it’s always a pleasure to see such a beautiful woman up close." He added while tenderly taking Scarlet’s hand to kiss it, but suddenly her hand was violently thrown aside by Kris.
"Keep your paws off, what do you want, Kaiser," he added in a deep voice.
"Calm down, Kris. We’re here to have fun, I don’t want to argue with you," Kaiser simply said with a sigh.
"You say that after humiliating me..." Kris retorted, visibly annoyed.
"You humiliated yourself, heir of Donoghan..." Kaiser let slip.
"How dare you utter that name from your filthy mouth," Kris was at the end of his rope, his patience wearing thin. And Scarlet was desperately trying to calm him, even apologizing to Kaiser, but that only made Kris much angrier.
While Kaiser continued to provoke him a little, he caught sight of Isabella out of the corner of his eye.
"Please excuse me. I just saw a flower wandering by out of the corner of my eye."
"Yeah, go on, get lost," Kris spat, but following his gaze, he turned his head toward the beautiful flower in question and realized it was his sister.
"That... that bastard!"
But Kaiser was already gone, and Scarlet was holding him back. Seeing that it was starting to attract attention, he turned around and dragged Scarlet away while muttering curses under his breath.
