Chapter 72 - 72: Kael Xavier!

Kael's grip tightened

around the hilt of Xalvareth, its edge humming with suppressed

power. Across from him, Zenyin stood with a twisted grin etched across his

face, energy crackling in pulses from his body.

Kael's voice cut through

the tension. "Don't make this boring, Zenyin."

Zenyin chuckled darkly,

his tone shifting. "Then let me show you what true chaos looks like."

He closed his eyes,

breathing in deeply. For a brief moment, everything fell silent.

Then came the roar.

"Rise—Abyssal Hydro

Flux! Craven Solar Flux!"

A violent surge of energy

burst from Zenyin's core—two distinct streams of corrupted power intertwining

like twin serpents. Abyssal Hydro Flux wrapped around him like an ocean storm,

liquid black and cold as death, while the Craven Solar Flux blazed behind it in

bursts of sickly gold, casting jagged rays through the air.

Kael's visor lit up in

warning, scanning the incoming signatures. "He's developed dual flux forms... One

for offense, the other for defense," he murmured.

Kael raised his voice. "I

hope you can still stand after what's coming next."

Zenyin's eyes burned with

cruel resolve. "Let's find out."

In a flash, the two lunged

at each other. Zenyin disappeared mid-motion, flickering behind Kael with a

speed that defied standard tracking. Kael barely turned in time—Xalvareth swinging

up just fast enough to parry the incoming strike. The clash echoed like

thunder, and Kael was thrown back through the air, landing hard on his feet and

skidding across the stone floor.

He exhaled, tightening his

grip. "Your strength has grown quite a bit."

Zenyin didn't reply—he was

already charging again.

Kael narrowed his eyes.

"Time for precision."

He activated his Saber

Form—Xalvareth reshaped itself with a sharp hum, condensing its

edge and extending a secondary blade at the hilt. Kael's visor locked onto

Zenyin's rapid movements, predicting the angles of his attacks with pinpoint

accuracy.

Blades collided again and

again—Kael moving like a blur, deflecting slashes and jabs as his

hybrid-enhanced reflexes fought to keep pace. Zenyin's hydroblades were

relentless, fueled by his corrupted dual flux, twisting unnaturally as if

guided by a will of their own.

Kael caught an

opening—Zenyin's guard lifted for half a second.

"Let's end this—Dyvon

Fang Dagger!"

With a burst of Prisma

Cyan Flux, Kael's blade took on a blinding azure glow, charged with raw

resonant power. The attack landed squarely on Zenyin's defense, demolishing his

stance. Zenyin was thrown across the battlefield, crashing into the jagged edge

of a broken platform. Smoke and energy fizzled around his impact point.

Zenyin coughed as he

struggled to his feet. "You little..."

He surged forward with

fury, delivering a brutal kick to Kael's ribs. The blow knocked Kael back, but

he rolled and steadied himself, already channeling his flux again.

"Dyvon Fang Dag—"

"Not again!" Zenyin

roared.

He slammed his twin

hydroblades into the ground. "Hydro Guard!"

A dark, spherical bubble

of highly pressurized corrupted water erupted around him. The shield pulsed

with a magnetic aura—its density so thick it warped the air. Kael's attack

collided with it—and failed. The energy dispersed on contact, washed away like

a ripple against a stone.

Kael slid back, eyes

narrowing behind his visor. "He's learning fast... Adapting."

Zenyin emerged from the

sphere, grinning with sinister satisfaction. "That little trick of yours won't

work twice."

Kael slowly stood tall,

his aura beginning to shift.

"Then it's time," he said

under his breath, "to take this to the next level."

He held out his free hand,

palm facing downward, and whispered:

"Hybrid Resonance

Ascension —Awaken."

The core embedded in his

chestplate pulsed, glowing with radiant golden-white light. Flux poured from it

in waves, spiraling upward like a pillar of light around him. The battlefield

trembled as the resonance spread Kael syncing with the energies in the Bastille

itself. The broken platforms, the lingering flux in the air, even the

underground roots of the forest beyond—all of it began to respond.

Zenyin stepped back, a

flicker of unease flashing in his eyes.

"What... what are you

doing?"

Kael opened his eyes, now

glowing with streaks of crimson-gold. His body shimmered with a hybrid flux

armor formed by layers of fused energy—his physical form now linked with the

environment, constantly adapting and enhancing.

"I told you," Kael said,

his voice deeper, resonating with unseen power. "My core is powered by Hyper

Resonance Flux. I don't fight with just my strength—I fight with everything

around me."

He pointed Xalvareth forward,

and the weapon responded in kind, extending slightly, its edges gleaming with

purified flux energy. The battlefield itself seemed to bend to Kael's will.

Zenyin snarled and raised

his weapons. "Then let's see if your everything is enough!"

He launched a barrage of

Solar-Flare Edge Strikes, each one carrying both heat and hydro pressure. Kael

moved effortlessly now; his steps synced to the rhythm of the battle. His form

danced through the onslaught, weaving between attacks, redirecting their force

back with calculated precision.

Kael swept in low and

struck at Zenyin's side—forcing him to raise his shield again.

This time, Kael was ready.

He slammed his palm

against the shield and whispered: "Resonant Overbreak."

The shield pulsed—then

cracked.

Zenyin's eyes widened as

Kael's flux surged into the Hydro Guard bubble, destabilizing its inner

structure. With a flash of blue-gold energy, the barrier shattered like glass

under pressure.

Kael didn't wait.

He raised Xalvareth,

which now burned with Celestial Flame and Hypernova Shine Flux infused through

resonance. The scythe glowed with divine heat.

He leapt into the air and

called out:

"Nova Spiral Severance!"

The blade descended in a

mighty arc, trailing a spiral of flaming flux behind it. Zenyin crossed his

blades to block—but the force crushed through his defense and detonated on

impact.

Boom.

The explosion sent a

column of golden light shooting into the sky above the Bastille ruins. Zenyin

crashed to the ground, battered and burned, his corrupted energy now flickering

with instability.

Kael landed softly, Xalvareth retracting

back to its dagger-scythe form, humming faintly.

He looked at Zenyin, now

struggling to rise.

"This is your end,

Warden."

And with that, the

battlefield fell silent—only the faint hiss of dissipating flux left in the

air.

But Kael knew the war

wasn't over.

This was just the

beginning of what lay hidden within the Bastille's walls.

Zenyin narrowed his eyes

at Kael. "That move... I've seen it before. Who exactly are you?"

Kael stepped forward, his

voice calm and resolute. "To know me, you need to know my full name—Kael

Xavier."

Zenyin froze, a gasp

escaping his lips. "X... Xavier? You're related to him, aren't you?"

Kael nodded. "Yes. He was

my father."

Zenyin's expression

shifted from shock to a knowing silence. "So... you're his son."

He closed his eyes, memories flooding back.
