Exclusive Love: Pampered by the Scheming Tycoon-Chapter 190: Give Her a Task
Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Give Her a Task
At this moment, it was morning. Yan Ting had finished breakfast and left for the company. Lin Banxia’s injury was almost healed, and she wanted to go with him, but Yan Ting insisted that she rest for one more day and go to the office tomorrow.
The phone on the table suddenly rang.
Lin Banxia glanced at the caller ID and quickly answered, "Husband, is there something wrong?"
"What are you doing right now?" The man’s deep and magnetic voice asked lightly.
"I’m looking at the history of your company’s development," Lin Banxia replied with a bright smile.
"Stop looking for now. I need you to go to the airport immediately to pick someone up for me."
Lin Banxia looked surprised. "Who am I picking up?"
Doesn’t he always have a bunch of people around him all day? Why isn’t he sending a driver this time?
This person must be very special.
"My aunt," Yan Ting said nonchalantly.
"Oh, is it her?" Lin Banxia suddenly let out a soft gasp.
Yan Ting’s aunt had been her aunt once too. She was a very unique woman who, in her past life, had taught her many life lessons. Whether out of pity or sympathy, she was the only person in the Huo Family who didn’t put on airs around her.
Unexpectedly, Yan Ting was sending her to pick up his aunt at the airport? She was more than willing to go.
"Why are you so surprised? Do you know my aunt?" Yan Ting, being the shrewd man he was, sensed something odd from her tone.
"Oh, no, how would I possibly know your aunt? I’m just curious why you didn’t send a driver to pick her up," Lin Banxia couldn’t help but internally slap herself. Why couldn’t she just keep her composure? If Yan Ting were to probe deeper, would she really have to tell him about her rebirth?
"The reason I want you to pick her up is for you to get closer and become familiar with her. You’ve already offended every other member of the Huo Family. I’d rather you not make an enemy out of her as well." Yan Ting teased casually, but his tone carried no anger.
Lin Banxia sighed helplessly. "I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. If I had known I was going to marry you, I would’ve put more effort into picking a proper gift for your grandmother’s birthday. Then she wouldn’t have been so upset."
"If you hadn’t upset my grandmother on that day, how would I have realized you’d already let go of Huo Qinglin?" Yan Ting, far from blaming her, seemed almost smug.
Lin Banxia smiled at his words. "You’re right. Everything happens for a reason. I still don’t know what your aunt looks like, though. Send me a photo so I can head to the airport now."
"Alright. Be safe on the road. Call me once you’ve picked her up."
Lin Banxia listened to his deep, caring tone, and her smile grew even wider.
In the past, she had thought being with a mature, composed man like Yan Ting would be unbearably dull and boring.
But now that she had grown more familiar with him, she realized that beneath his seemingly cold and indifferent exterior lay a heart that was delicate and warm.
Had she actually struck gold with him?
Feeling delighted, Lin Banxia grabbed the car keys and headed straight to the airport.
Yan Ting’s aunt, Huo Ning, was an oil painter. Her works had appeared in exhibitions of all sizes and had garnered her a certain degree of fame within the industry.
She was also strikingly beautiful and carried herself with an air of elegance. Perhaps due to her career, she exuded a uniquely independent and unconventional aura.
As the second daughter of the Huo Family, her status was naturally impressive, yet despite being nearly forty years old, she remained single.
