EX-Grade Ability Card: Tower Ascension with My Absolute Restoration-Chapter 107: A Stone Mountain
Chapter 107: A Stone Mountain
Meanwhile, all of this discussion is completely inconsequential to the topic of those conversations, said topic currently heading towards the depth of a mountain range dreaded not only by the ascenders of the second floor, but even by the most powerful of monsters as a place that can only spell one end to anyone that will even come in contact with it, death.
This place, a stony mountain range that seems to extend so high in the skies that it is even covering the sunlight with its towering mountain peaks, houses not a single monster in sight, as if it is a dead ecological zone that no one wants to live on.
This dead zone is a result not only of the fact that there’s not a single food that any monster might eat grow there, but also due to the fact that every single monster who has even a tiny bit of brain in their head knows better than to approach the dreadful, deterring aura seemingly pushing away everyone from approaching the place.
As for those creatures, whether monsters or humans, who wouldn’t think enough about whether they should barge in this terrifying place or not, their death is already set in stone the moment they thought that they can maybe, just maybe, survive without preparing anything, their demise, both untimely and unjust as much as it is abnormal, a death that will make one wonder just how could one make it happen.
With their bodies collapsing completely on the ground the moment that they enter a certain vicinity within this rocky mountains, those that dares to interrupt and provoke whatever it is that is lurking within this mountains were completely obliterated after their bodies completely fall into the ground.
And yet, that is not the most terrifying part, as all those dead bodies that was supposed to turn into nothing but compost for plants to grow on were turned into stone the moment they draw in their last breath, something completely out of the norm for deaths.
This also begs the question, if all the existences that died attempting to conquer or even just exist in this stone mountain turns into stone the moment that their lives were taken away, then is it possible that this entire rock mountain is built upon the victims of whatever existence is residing within it?
This question is also the one that pops into Azrael’s mind the moment that he observes this phenomenon happening as a rabbit-like monster crosses a certain border and considered to be within the range of the rocky mountains, this rabbit immediately dropping dead before it turns into nothing but stones and minerals as well, before its entire body merges with the stone beneath itself.
Despite the clear show of this monster’s might though, the young man merely descends from the skies, dispersing the massive great sword he is using as transport, before he starts approaching the massive rock mountain without a single trace of hesitation in his expression, extending one of his hands out to act as a detector whether he is already in the attack range of this monster or not.
After walking for a few more minutes, waiting for something to happen, he finally felt like his heart suddenly starts slowing down with the pumping of his blood, the stagnant blood gradually thinking up as well making it extremely difficult for him not only to breathe but also to think, his impaired capabilities making him really uncomfortable as if he was just hit by a massive fever like the times when he was a kid.
One might imagine Azrael’s current situation to be something far worse than death, feeling disoriented and mind clouded at the same time, as if he was drunk and this state of drunkenness is then multiplied a thousand of times, all while his perception of space and time itself dances, sometimes compressing as if everything around him is small and fast, while at times completely expanding on itself as if he is standing on the strand of a giant’s hair.
In fact, he wouldn’t be all that far from death had it not been for his immense will, but most importantly for his ability which is the Absolute Regeneration, preventing himself from completely falling into the cold stone floor of the mountain as his ability allows him to recover at drastic speed as if the pain he is experiencing is nothing but a minor inconvenience to him.
Sitting down as he starts circulating all the meditation techniques he has, planning to use his current power to expulse whatever it is that is causing him to remain in such a state despite repeatedly regenerating himself, the young man then closes his eyes, the moment he does so causing a massive wave of life force to surge towards his body as if they are all attracted to him completely. freewёbnoνel-com
While all of this is happening, he still feels the massive wave of pain interrupting his meditation every so often, however, knowing that nothing will change if he doesn’t put an effort himself, Azrael holds on with gritted teeth as he endures the hellish feeling of his entire body being completely ruined from inside out, the nauseating experience of his vision swirling completely making him think that he wouldn’t want to experience something like that ever again.
"Fucking bastard, not even meeting me yet already preparing such a warm welcome..." after minutes, almost hour of struggling to expel the root of his suffering out of his body, Azrael then curses as he looks at the towering stone mountain wondering where is it that the treasure guardian of the second floor is hiding, his senses turning sharper as his eyes turns a shade of complete gold as if rather than just seeing through what is underneath the skin and muscle of the monster, the young man is looking through their very essence, allowing him to tell which exactly are the spots that made his target completely vulnerable to attacks
