Chapter 55: The Dragons

The ten lords were also mainly focused on others.

It wasn’t just new lords. There were even many who had not evolved to the 2nd Origin yet.

The new lords, on the other hand, were mostly at the Silver rank, with a few with big backgrounds at the Gold ranks.

Still, there were thousands of lords participating in these clash battles.

’Silver class this time, hmm, it should be easy as well.’ Neil thought as he got ready with his bow.

Only a little over two hours had passed. He was in no hurry to leave yet. He wasn’t even the least bit tired.

"Hello, I am Kar. My friend, what’s your name?" the opponent this time introduced himself.

"Don’t waste my time, let’s just get this over with." Neil said, making the opponent frown.

"Alright, I will ask your name after I have defeated you." He chuckled and held the knives in his hands tightly.

[The battle begins!]

Right as the battle started, Kar’s arms were almost like a blur as he threw out the blades one after another.

Flying at incredible speed, the dozen or so blades cut through the air, but Neil was nowhere in sight.

At some point, he had appeared behind Kar.

"Unfortunately, you can’t." Neil said as he struck the back of his head with the bow.

[You have obtained 30 points!]

Kar’s eyes were wide open as he stared in bafflement before dying with resentment.

"One hour should be enough for this as well."

[Starting the next battle!]

Then another opponent flashed before Neil. It seemed that from the Silver class onward, people were more obsessed with their image and popularity.

Most of them would introduce themselves needlessly, wasting his time.

"Hello, I am Zen. I am glad to learn from you. I can tell you are very powerfu-" Zen, a short guy with four arms, began to speak.

"Shut up and fight." Neil interrupted. These guys were wasting his time.

"Alright, I guess we can have a proper talk after the battle." Zen said as he moved the twenty fingers of his strangely.

It was difficult to see, but almost invisible threads spread around Zen in an instant.

Vritra also pulled the string of his bow.

[The battle begins!]

BANG

A single earth arrow shot at extreme speed. It easily tore through the threads before making Zen’s head explode.

[You won!]

[You have obtained 30 points!]

[The next battle is starting...]

Even in the Silver class, Neil’s rank started to rise pretty quickly.

It was enough to catch the attention of a few of the lords observing the battles, but not enough to draw the attention of the top lords.

At the top of the arena, one figure suddenly stood up. Because of their disguise, it was impossible to know even their gender.

"I have made my choice!!" While speaking, their gaze was fixed on a guy who had the ability to transform into various beasts.

The others had no interest, so no one paid them any attention.

"Hmm, you are a new face here. Which race are you from?" one of the figures spoke in a drunken female voice.

"..." Cinthia, the lord in question, merely glanced at her and looked back at the battles.

She had two reasons to come here. First, to find someone very exceptional, and second, to try her luck and find that brat.

Both were important missions. If she could raise a powerful lord for her race, it would give her an excuse to stay here longer.

And secondly, she was desperate to kill that guy and erase the memory of getting kissed.

Thankfully for Neil, she had not seen his elemental bow before.

"Well, whatever. Just don’t get in my way later on. After all, I am from the Dragon race." The other person announced proudly.

The other eight weren’t surprised, but Cinthia was.

The king of dragons was different. It was more beneficial for him to reveal his identity than to keep it hidden.

’But I heard the ruler of dragons on the Zoratian planet is a man, so why did he change his voice?

He or she... also revealed his identity, so that defeats the point of changing it. Did the king send someone in his place?’ That was the only thing she could think of.

In any case, it didn’t really matter.

Looking at the silent figure, the female dragoness smiled.

She had taken her nephew’s place to come visit this place. She had only come to the Zoratian planet for a short vacation.

Although coming back here made her feel the oppression of the world, as long as she didn’t use her strength too much, things would be fine.

All these lords, the ones who ruled their races here, were like kids in front of her, young and weak.

"Hmm, that girl, she is quite good." Her eyes were fixed on a girl with ash blonde hair.

She was extremely fast and was moving up the ranks very quickly, already participating in the Gold class battles.

"..." Cinthia looked at the girl wearing black armor. She too was impressed by her.

’It would be great if I could get her to join me. That way, I can have more time to plan things out.’ She thought.

"But it looks like she lacks emotions, as if she is solely guided by bloodlust. Looks like she already has very high goals." The dragoness mumbled. She had really set her focus on her.

Jane’s body turned into a ray of light, a long blade glistening red in her hand.

THUD

In a flash, she cut off the opponent’s arm, appearing composed.

"Ughh, damnit, you are asking for it now!!" the opponent suddenly roared as his body started to transform into a large bull.

During the transformation, even the arm seemed to grow back as he charged madly towards her.

Jane didn’t even look surprised. She raised the sword in her hand, pointing the tip upward.

The surrounding light suddenly started to converge, forming an enormous sword above her head.

Then she brought her arm down as if cutting through the air.

WHOOSH

The massive sword descended, instantly slicing the bull into two.

She won another round, defeating the final contender in the Gold class from the same year.

It was only the second day of the trials.

Among all the new lords, she had already defeated almost everyone at the top but was still not satisfied.

Her gaze moved towards the rankings. Only one lord had managed to reach the Diamond class in such a short time.

But he was nowhere to be seen on the Global Lord Rankings, which meant he was being heavily supported by a powerful family.

There are so many factors to count to climb higher on the Global Lord rankings.

Still, Jane wasn’t sure if she could take him on.

She needed a powerful backer, someone who could help her grow extremely strong, so she could find Neil and wipe out the Lizzard race, their family, or anyone who posed danger to Neil.

Finally, her gaze moved towards the Global Lord Rankings.

[Global Lord Rankings]:

1. Dead Man Walking

2. Jane Yate

3. Vish

...

She wondered who exactly the person above her was. Could it be Neil?

Dead Man Walking, he hadn’t left the 1st spot ever since he appeared there, making her wonder just what he had achieved.

She was sure he wouldn’t die so easily. He was the most talented to have ever existed.
