Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 84: Guild Proposal
I handed my license over and stood at the same spot, turning and tilting my body as I took in the view of the gibberish crowd. They were going wild like wild monkeys, just to get a glimpse of the first and only SSS-Class hero.
Me.
In other words, I was perceived as one with immerse power capable of destroying the whole world... I truly wondered if I could pull that if I wanted to, but that would not be necessary because its not something I would see myself doing for any reason whatsoever.
I am a hero, not a villain.
I was deep in thought, staring back at crowd when something happened.
Something totally unexpected, the crowd suddenly began to turn their heads towards the exit.
Someone or something that was way more or even as important as my reassessment results had just walked into the waiting room.
I sought of appreciated whatever it was, because I was starting to get tired of so many eyes looking at all at once.
"Here you go..."
The manager tapped me on the shoulder and handed a newly printed and laminated license to me.
I took it from him and glanced at it, right beside an old passport of mine was my credentials printed neatly in bold italics font.
NAME> RENO RENLY
DATE OF BIRTH> 20TH AUGUST, 2003.
AGE> 19
ALIAS> BIONIC
OFFICIAL ISA RANKING> SSS-CLASS, RANK 1.
THIS LISCENSE IS VIABLE UP UNTIL A YEAR AFTER ISSUEANCE WITH WHICH A RENEWAL WILL BE REQUIRED.
THIS IS TO CERTISFY THAT THE BEARER OF THIS CONTRACT IS UNDER THE PROTECTION AND SUPERVISION OF THE ISA AND HER AFFILIATES.
I raised a confused eyebrow as I looked at the card in my palms, there were so many new different features than before.
Instead of a paper card covered in a plastic protection, the license had a metal feeling to it, and its surface had gold intricate line imprinted throughout its area. It looked prestigious.
"It has a nice feel to it huh?" the manager ask with a proud smirk playing across his face. "I am truly honored to be the first person to design and print the first license card for the first and only SSS-Class hero..." he finished with a slight bow.
"Yeah yeah, I noticed that... its just the name..." I said while taking a glance at the manger and scratching the side of my face with the card.
The manager expression changed because he seemed to find my actions offensive.
"Your welcome..." The Apostle spoke up.
I figured he was the one that suggested the Alias name to be set as Bionic, I haven’t been able to have a say as to whether I would like to be called that. But nevertheless, it is not a bad name.
On the other hand...
The entity that had made an entrance was non other than my subordinate... The Golden Guardian, Jordan Smith, S-Class Rank 1.
His presence alone distracted the crowd from glazing at my glory as the noticed the leader of The Guardian Corps making his way towards the measurement sphere room.
I breathe out a sigh of relief at his grand entrance, because I was pondering what to do next after being stared at by so many pairs of eye balls. But what wonderful timing though, right after I finished my reassessment test.
He didn’t show up in his iconic hero suit, he showed up in a classy, business suit with well polished shoes and matching tie to go with the outfit. He was dressed to impress- Definitely.
Although I had questions as to why he would live his home sector of Sector C and come all the way here to Sector D just to witness my reassessment test, I didn’t really want to give much thought to it or maybe I didn’t care enough.
I secured my license inside my pocket and made my way out of the measurement room and into the waiting room, zipping through the attention divided crowd like a spider.
Jordan Smith came into view and he locked eyes with me as I approached him, waiting for me to arrive at his feet... I could tell. But I dimply walked past him like he wasn’t even there in the first place.
His eyes widened in surprise as my shoulder bumped his arm and my figure zipped past him like he was just another fan waiting to be graced by my presence.
I knew he was going to react after that, I just didn’t know how. Being the egotistical maniac he is.
"Ahem! Excuse me, could I have a word with you for a moment mister Reno Renly!???"
I stopped and turned around to look.
Jordan Smiths eyes gleamed heavily on me like a death star and his eyes cleared showed the broken pieces of his shattered ego.
"Good day... Mr. Reno!"
He started with a highly obvious dis-ingenious greeting that I found pathetic.
"I am here to cause no harm... we are all friends here..." he let out a huge smile that was so forced he even tilted his body towards the reporters who were flicking away with their cameras.
"I heard about your remarkable feat... the whole world has heard about your remarkable results..."
"I wanted to have the honor of being the first to congratulate you on being the first SSS-Class hero to ever exist since the Contact War..."
He outstretched his right hand to shake mine, I responded and outstretched mine till we exchange a short handshake.
"Thank You..." I said wryly.
"I’ve come to you on behalf of the Silver Tiger Guild. And we have brought together a proposal that would definitely benefit both of our interest, all in exchange for your signature and loyalty to the Guild..."
Wait! Was Jordan Smith aka the Golden Guardian, The Final Horizon, The greatest hero to ever live acting as a guild head hunter just to get my signature and pledge my alignment to their guild?
They must be desperate to pull such a move like that and to a degree I found it rather amusing.
"Think about it...By signing you, The Silver Tiger Guild be known as the greatest Guild in history by boasting of the service of three of some of the greatest heroes to ever live."
"Hugh..."
"Think about it... you, me and Tempest Wolf, leading the charge into the new future of heroism..."
I scoffed and took a slight step backwards, "Tempest Wolf is and A-Class, and neither you nor him are anywhere close to my level..." I said nonchalantly.
Jordan Smith stood there dumbfounded, staring into my eyes like he had seen a ghost devour a human being. I had completely shattered his ego at this point and it would take everything in him not to laser my eyebrows off with the built up anger.
But then.
Flash!
A camera man snapped his camera, pulling him from his decision making process.
He let another forceful smile, "Ahh... I see, that’s still debatable..."
"No its not..." I blurted out, cutting him off.
"Alright... maybe we could sit and talk about this issue in a more thoughtful manner..." he said.
"No... sorry I don’t have time for your puny guild wars..." I said and quickly turned away and left the exit of Tower D.
It happened so fast that Jordan Smith didn’t even have the chance to think about stopping me from leaving. Meanwhile, the association employees and the other guilds head hunter belatedly realized what had transpired and began freaking out.
"What the hell just happened?"
"Wait!!!! did Jordan Smith, the Golden Guardian get ignored by the new SSS-Class hero?"
Chatter, Chatter...
The waiting room grew noisy by the second and Jordan Smith tried his best to maintain his calm.
I climbed down the stairs of the Tower and upon looking up, their were still a lot of paparatsy flashing their cameras at me, inching closer with their microphone hoping to get a word or two from.
They were so many that I couldn’t find a way to easily walk through without being pulled apart by the crowd.
Then.
Ti-tiring.
[Master...]
[Congratulations on your reassessment test, you’re currently the strongest hero to ever live and with room to improve, as you can keep evolving with no end limit...]
A smile played across my lips as I comprehended the notification from the Forever Cores system.
Truly I had made it a long way from being an E-Class hero named Skateboard Man, zipping through the sector trying to do my best to become the best hero I could be...
Now, I am the best hero there is, and no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who abide and worship the evils might beware my power the Forever Cores might.
I wondered what was the result of Jake Todd’s reassessment result, he as well everyone in the world who had access to a TV should be aware of my status. I wanted to know what his new ranking is, considering all his new improvements.
It was nice to see that I wasn’t just the only one leveling up this whole time, my best friend was too.
