The morning rolled over naturally and I got up at my usual time to prepare for my meeting with The Apostle. Before leaving the house, I carefully opened the door to my moms room.
As it was on a saturday morning, she remained blissfully stuck in a slumber so deep that shed not be any wiser if someone her kidnapped her right now.
Kpim.
Suddenly, I felt worried.
"There might be a jackass or two who’ll try to get closer to her while I am away."
Of course, there should be no one stupid enough to harm the mother of the only SSS-Class hunter, but well, it was hard to tell what was in the mind of humans nowadays.
At least, I needed some sort of a contingency plan in the case of such a grim event.
"Hold on a minute, I can hide my tactical drone here to follow her wherever she went so I could keep tabs on her and her safety..."
just like when I sent the tactical drones to hunt for any leads that would take me to the door step of Bakuzan.
The tactical drones are small, about the size of a ping pong ball and they are practically built for stealth. They produce no sound whatsoever when they move and they do not emit any heat of any kind.
I still haven’t understood how The Apostle was able to dictate them.
"Come..."
I had already had a bunch of them lying at every nuke and cranny of the building. Watching, monitoring. But, I had no one dedicated to watch over my mom.
I called out to a few of them in the living room, and they approached me silently and enter the room where my mom slept peacefully.
I let out a small smirk before closing the door gently and existing the apartment and making my way to the roof.
It took me about a few minutes to get to the warehouse, I was surprised to see that The Apostle had already made it there before me.
I could feel his undeniable strong aura, but he wasn’t in sight yet.
I walked briskly through the dusty, worn down surface of the warehouse.
"That guy really gives me the anxiety trip..." a thought escaped my lips as I walked.
Then-
"Ha hahaha...", a subtle chuckle rang into the air, it originated from above me and that caused me to spin around on my heels without hesitation.
"As you said...", there he was, sitting on a worn out wooden bar suspended high above the ground.
He looked different today, he wasn’t wearing his signature sharp suit and dark shades. Rather, he had a loose t shirt on and a shaggy pair of jeans, like as if he was taking a free day as a normal citizen. Although it would be extremely hard to blend in as a normal citizen with all that scar on his face.
"Its an honor to finally meet you here... in your...DEN!" he said cunningly. "However, I want to propose something to kick off our day today... seeing that we are in your spar zone..."
"I suggest we both take eachother on, engage in a simple show of strength..."
"What are you talking about?" I said instinctively.
"Come on! Dont tell me you haven’t felt my power oozing out of me... I know someone like you will be able to perceive my strength."
I shrugged my shoulder and cracked my knuckles swiftly, "I dont know, I have felt it... figured you’re just some meta hired to be the ISA president right hand body guard... so, yeah I didn’t think much about it."
The Apostle raised a stunned eyebrow and then rose to his feet, atop the wooden platform, "Huh, such harsh words... okay how about this, although you are obviously several times stronger than me, I would propose you refrain from activating your armor and just going head to head with me..."
I remained silent for a while before speaking, "Hmmm, thats fair... I guess. I can tell you are strong and you will me quite the trouble without my armor, but im willing to take you on..." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"I see... now you’ll know why I was picked to be the last line of defence of the ISA president."
Just then-
Tti-tiring.

"Shit, he is really being serious!"
It was then I realized this wasn’t just a spar, this was a test, and I had a feeling The Apostle wasn’t the type to play nice.
"Alright," I said, cracking my neck and rolling my shoulders. "No armor, just fists. Let’s see what the Viola Travis’s last line of defense has got."
The Apostle’s scarred face split into a grin, his eyes glinting with something unreadable. It was glee, part amusement, part menace. "Oh, you’ll see, Reno. Let’s make this warehouse shake."
"Our abilities are literally two sides of a coin— can never meet... You’re a daredevil who’s core skill is continuous evolution, while I rely on techniques... Let’s see who’s will prevail!"
Without warning, he leaped from the beam, his body a blur as he descended.
Tti-ring.
[Agility: 174]
My Agility kicked in, and I sidestepped, the air whooshing where I’d been standing.
Bam!
He landed in a crouch, the concrete floor cracking under his weight, sending up a cloud of dust.
"Damn, he’s fast for an S-Class."
But I wasn’t here to gawk.
I lunged forward, my legs propelling me like a missile and my fist aimed for his chest, a clean strike meant to test his durability.
But The Apostle didn’t dodge. Instead, his body shimmered, and a translucent, golden barrier materialized around him, rippling like liquid sunlight. My fist slammed into it, the impact sending a shockwave through the warehouse. The barrier held firm, absorbing the blow with a low hum, and I felt the recoil vibrate up my arm.
"Tch," I muttered, leaping back. "Fancy shield. What’s that, divine magic?"
The Apostle straightened, brushing dust off his jeans. "I figured you’d call it that, we both know there’s no such thing as magic. Call it... the Will of the Cube." His voice carried a strange reverence, and his hands moved in a precise, almost ritualistic gesture.
The air around him warped, and I felt a sudden pressure, like gravity itself was bending to his will.
The Apostle snapped his fingers, and the warehouse seemed to fold. The walls, the ceiling, the very space around me twisted, like I was trapped in a kaleidoscope.
My vision warped, and suddenly, there were three Apostles standing in front of me, each identical, each radiating that same golden aura.
"Illusions?" I thought to myself.
No, my Perception caught the faint distortions in the air. These were spatial duplicates, each one real enough to hurt.
