Evolution begins with an ant colony-Chapter 384: Encounter
It was finally nightfall in Elvendell. The twilight sky, fikled with stars, cast a beautiful silver glow over the eleven city. Shadows stretched along cobblestone streets and the gentle hum of night creatures filled the air.
In the peaceful night, two figures moved through the winding paths of the elven city, their cloaks pulled tight around them. Under the enchantments disguising their true forms, Vorpax and Salden blended with the elven people.
Vorpax, his eyes burning with endless energy, fidgeted continuously. He kept tugging at his hood and shifting from foot to foot as they walked. "Where are we going?" he whispered for what felt like the hundredth time, his voice filled with impatience. "We should be preparing for the attack. It’s almost time!"
Salden’s eyes narrowed, his patience wearing thin. He sighed, glancing sideways at his sibling. "Can’t you keep quiet for just a moment, Vorpax?" he hissed. "You’re like a buzzing gnat. We have a plan, and it requires some finesse, which clearly you lack."
"But what’s the point of all this sneaking around if we’re just going to attack anyway?" Vorpax grumbled, kicking at a loose stone on the path. "We could be causing some real fun chaos right now."
Salden stopped suddenly, his glasses glowing, his face frowned in annoyance. "Fun chaos? We’re not here for your amusement," he snapped. "We have specific objectives to accomplish, and your constant prattling is jeopardizing them."
Vorpax pouted, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Fine," he muttered, but after a few moments, he couldn’t help himself. "So, what’s the plan then? Why all the sneaking if you don’t think it’s important?"
Salden rolled his eyes. "I told you, there’s an anomaly my †Authority† has detected," he said, his tone lowering as they made their way through a narrow alley.

"Something that could lead to the failure of our plan if we don’t address it."
Vorpax’s eyes widened slightly. "An anomaly?" he repeated, he was clearly interested. "What kind of anomaly? Something fun?"
Salden shook his head, irritation flashing in his eyes. "No, not ’fun,’" he said sharply. "It’s a disturbance in the flow of events. Something or someone is interfering, and it’s causing ripples that could disrupt our attack."
Vorpax frowned, his brow furrowing in confusion. "So, what do we do about it? Do we need to find it and squash it?"

"Precisely," Salden replied, his voice calmer now that Vorpax seemed to be focusing. "We need to locate the source of this anomaly and neutralize it before it can interfere with our plans."
They moved in silence for a few moments, their footsteps echoing softly in the stillness of the night. As they approached the heart of Elvendell, the city’s vibrant center, Salden’s eyes narrowed, his senses heightened. He could feel he was getting closer, his eyes working in overdrive as he analyzed nearly everything that came into view.
"Keep your eyes open," Salden murmured. "We’re close. Whatever is causing this disturbance is somewhere nearby."
Vorpax nodded eagerly, he was impatient earlier, but now he couldn’t help but feel excited. "Let’s find it," he said, his voice low and eager. "And then we can get back to the real fun."
Salden smirked slightly, though his eyes remained cold and calculating. "Yes," he agreed, "once we deal with this anomaly, the path to chaos will be clear. Let’s not waste any more time."
As Salden and Vorpax moved deeper into Elvendell, the city’s vibrant center was alive with activity, tonight was the coronation of the princess after all. Lanterns hung from beautiful arches, casting a warm light over the cobblestone streets.
Vorpax, unable to suppress his excitement, looked around with wide eyes, looking around the beautiful the city. His fingers drummed against his thighs, and his gaze darted from side to side, searching for any sign of this ’anomaly’ Salden had mentioned.
"Are we close?"
"Can you sense it?"
Salden, walking, barely glanced at Vorpax. His eyes glowed faintly, scanning the area
"Yes," he replied softly, his tone giving of his impatience. He adjusted his cloak, pulling it tighter around him as if to shield himself from the disturbance he sensed. "The anomaly is near. Keep quiet and follow my lead."
They turned a corner, entering a narrow, dimly lit alley that ran parallel to the main thoroughfare.
The alley was quieter, the sounds of the city fading as they continued on. Salden’s steps slowed, his senses suddenly picked up a massive spike of mana and cosmic energy around then.
Suddenly, he stopped, his eyes widening in shock. Just ahead, bathed in the dim glow of a solitary lantern, stood two figures. One, a young man with a calm look, and the other, a beautiful woman young but gave of a more intimidating aura. They seemed out of place.
Salden’s breath caught in his throat, and he stiffened, a chill running down his spine. "It’s them," he murmured under his breath, his voice filled with fear and shock.
His fingers tightened around the edges of his cloak, his heart pounding in his chest. "They’re.... Gods.... The anomalies." Salden easily can to this conclusion because he was vary fammilar with the aura of a god, considering that his mother and step mother were gods as well.
Vorpax, who had been trailing slightly behind, frowned at his brother’s sudden halt. He leaned forward, looking over Salden’s shoulder to get a better look. "What is it?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. "What do you see?"
Salden, still staring at the two figures, shook his head slightly. "We need to walk past them," he muttered, his voice low and urgent. "Keep your head down and don’t draw attention."
But Vorpax, always been impulsive, had other ideas. He felt a nagging suspicion that Salden was hiding something important.
Ignoring his brother’s warning, he stepped forward, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Why should we walk past?" he asked, as he teased. "What are you so scared of?"
Before Salden could react, Vorpax moved toward the pair, walking confidently. "Hey!" he called out, his voice echoing through the quiet alley. "Are you going to stand in our way?"
The young man, Ark, turned his head slightly, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Vorpax. Chrono Nexus, standing beside him, tensed up, her gaze suddenly hardning as she gazed between Vorpax and Salden.
"You idiot!" Salden cursed under his breath, his hand darting out to grab Vorpax’s arm. he hissed, trying to pull him back. "Stop! You don’t know what you’re doing!"
