Ethereal World: Vicious Cannon Fodder's Immortality Road-Chapter 874: Farewell, My Dear!
Chapter 874: Farewell, My Dear!
Strangely, she loved being human, but at the same time, she didn’t feel sad about saying goodbye to her identity as part of the human race.
"Yue’er, my time is up. Take care of yourself, my dear. We’ll meet again soon. I love you," the man said, his tone full of reluctance and unwillingness.
He leaned over. Despite being unable to feel each other’s warmth, he still placed his hand on top of her head, making a gentle caressing motion.
"Father, I’ll take care of myself, I promise. Please wait for me. I will find you. I love you too." Shenlian Yingyue’s eyes reddened, but she held back her tears of reluctance and sadness. She gave him a blooming smile, a bright one that seemed to light up the whole world.
She obediently stood still, letting her father take a final look at her. She tried to see his face, but it remained blurry.
Millions of words were not enough to describe the emotions of their parting. Countless things the man wanted to say lingered on his lips, but in the end, he simply placed his transparent hands on her cheeks and gently rubbed them.
"I have to go, my dear," he whispered.
His figure soon disappeared into the vast expanse of space, leaving behind only the faint scent of the holy lotus, lingering in the air and wrapping around her like a warm embrace.
Shenlian Yingyue stretched out her hand to touch him, but it passed through the empty space. She watched his figure fade, bit by bit, with an unspeakable sadness.
Taking a deep breath, she smiled until he was completely gone.
The vast space now felt empty and lonely. She quickly shook her head, forcing herself not to dwell on how happy she had been with him.
Sitting down, she continued practicing divine power and studying the spells from the scrolls.
Here, time did not apply as it did in the real world. Countless years passed, yet she remained with her eyes closed, immersed in learning.
"Ash Fire!" She placed her index finger against her lips and whispered. From the Underworld Realm, a fire was summoned, floating in front of her and emitting a black glow.
The flames were dark red and purple, yet they radiated a black luminescence.
Fixing her gaze on the fire, she felt its indescribable power. If she hadn’t been the one who summoned it, she wouldn’t have been able to sit so close to it unharmed.
"I forgot to ask my father if I can use this power to kill the protagonists in this world or not," she pondered. "Never mind, it’s not like I want to kill or hurt anyone with this power. But if my enemies offend me, I’ll beat them until their parents don’t recognize them." She shook her head and patted her forehead.
"Father left me a lot of resources. I’ll share them with my partners. We’ll grow stronger and defeat our enemies together." Looking at the vast field of strange herbs, she marveled. She had never expected these rare plants to still exist.
From her knowledge, these herbs only grew in the Immortal Realm, and even there, they were extremely rare. Yet, her father had given her an entire field of them to practice alchemy.
His words echoed in her mind: "In the field of alchemy, many fail to achieve satisfactory results. So, I’m giving you this field of herbs, no matter how many times Yue’er fail to refine your pills, you’ll always have more resources."
At the time, her lips had twitched at how extravagant her father was. Just how rich was he? He had said that these were only a small part of his wealth.
She walked for several hours and still hadn’t reached the end of the endless field. With a wave of her sleeve, she directly moved the entire field into the Ethereal Small World.
Then, she collected all the scrolls and spirit stones, stretching to loosen her stiff muscles. As she took one last look at everything, a deep sense of reluctance filled her heart. This place held so many happy memories with her father.
But no matter how much she wanted to stay, people had to move forward toward their goals.
Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly paused, thinking of something. Without hesitation, she moved the entire lotus platform into the Ethereal Small World.
If anyone had been there to witness it, they would have been utterly speechless.
She wasn’t just leaving, she was taking everything with her. Not even the rocks and pillars were spared. If she had been able to pull the entire space into her small world, she wouldn’t have hesitated to do so.
And then, unexpectedly, that’s exactly what happened.
The entire world was absorbed into the Ethereal Small World.
She stood frozen in shock. The space around her suddenly turned pitch black, nothing remained. Not the sky, not the galaxies. If not for the fire she had summoned, illuminating the darkness, she wouldn’t have been able to see anything.
What was going on?
The fire from the Underworld Realm floated in silence, seemingly dumbfounded by her bizarre habit of collecting everything.
If it could speak, it would have asked, What is wrong with this girl?
"Ahem!" She cleared her throat. Even though she felt a little embarrassed, her face remained calm.
"What are you looking at?" she asked the fire.
The fire: "....."
-------------------
As soon as she returned to the outside world, she was welcomed warmly and enthusiastically by her partners. She told them everything she had experienced.
"Your father is very kind, Master. We can’t wait to meet him," they said happily.
"We’ll see him soon." she smiled, "My brother isn’t out yet?" she asked, looking around and not seeing him.
"Not yet, Yue," Jun Mu Yang shook his head.
"Let’s wait for him. While we wait, I want to share some things with you all."
She took out the resources she had obtained from the small world and introduced them one by one. She wasn’t worried about thieves. No one could enter this place to steal from her.
"Wow! Each of these scrolls suits us perfectly based on our different elemental spiritual roots!" Her companions’ eyes lit up as they examined the treasures.
After getting to know her father better, she had learned that no one could enter this realm except for her and her brother. Anyone who tried would become lost and eventually return to the dungeon.
That was why the giant door remained untouched in the Demon Realm.
When she had asked her father why he was in the Demon Realm, he had simply said he was there to meet the Demon Elders. That answer had stunned her.
What was her father’s relationship with the Demon Elders?
"By the way, how long have I been gone?" she asked. She had been in that space for almost twenty years.
"It has been twenty days already," Zhiyi said, placing her small hands in his.
"Twenty days, I see."
Not long after, Shenlian Yinzhu came out.
"Yue’er."
"Brother."
Both of them looked at each other. Without words, they understood each other’s hearts.
"You’ve learned divine power from Father too, haven’t you?" she asked with a smile.
"I am the same as you, Yue’er. We both received the same things." He stroked her hair with a doting smile. He didn’t mention the conversation he had with their father, and she didn’t ask, knowing that it wasn’t time for her to know yet.
