"How do I gain the Goblin Ancestor's recognition?" Averon asked, glaring at the Goblin Lord.

The huge goblin stood from his throne. "Follow me. We'll see whether my goblin ancestor deems you worthy." He scoffed.

Averon nodded as Lily glanced at him.

They walked out, following the Goblin Lord.

Averon stepped out of the tall, five-story, polished wooden building, which had "Administration Department" written on its plaque in goblin language, and glanced around.

He was in the center of the village, surrounded by many neat wooden buildings—even the smallest was three stories high.

As he walked forward, he noticed a few buildings.

One was labeled "Clothing" on its plaque, with the open doors. Different kinds of tunics were hung outside.

'Nice fabric,' he noted the texture from vision itself. 'From roaming almost naked to selling fine clothing… Goblins have grown a lot.'

Another store next to it had written "Daily Groceries," as the scent of fruits and vegetables flowed out from it.

Next door had "Delicious Meat"—pork, rabbits, and a few animals were hung from wooden beams as the butcher kept chopping a freshly killed pig.

Slice! Thud!

'They're selling everything necessary for life,' he noted. 'And this would help kids and others to develop without solely relying on hunting.'

The buildings were stacked together as neatly dressed goblins went in and out, carrying items.

As he followed the Goblin Lord, he heard a vendor shout, "I'll give you a discount of two crystals!"

'Good, they are using currency.' Averon's eyes shone.

Averon heard a heavy sound as he almost reached the other end of the village.

Ding! Ding!

The rhythmic clang of a blacksmith's hammer echoed through the street. Heat spilled from the building as he walked forward.

'They're even able to make their own weapons. Not bad,' Averon nodded. 'They'll be great help once I take them over.'

Compared to the time when he was a Giliberu, where everyone would share from the hunt and make things together.

Here, the goblins had reached the point of a proper village, with all necessary items like clothing, weapons, food, and currency. It impressed the young slime.

Lily and the young slime finally reached their destination.

'This should be the church,' he mused as he stood in front of a building made from yellow marble. It was just a one-story.

Unlike the rest of the village, it seemed low, but its presence was different. Shining marble, and covered by a small garden.

The moment Averon stepped into the courtyard, he noticed goblins tending different kinds of flowers. A sweet smell covered the area.

Averon and Lily entered the main building.

A clean, shining blue marble floor spread before them.

Rock trinkets and majestic paintings were placed on both sides.

A brown carpet lay on the floor in the middle, leading to the altar. Wooden tables were placed in rows on both sides of the carpet for seating.

The Goblin Lord waved his hand, and Lily and Averon walked towards the statue of a goblin that stood tall on the altar.

"Not bad decoration," Lily said, glancing at the chandeliers glowing bright blue with mana.

Noticing Averon checking the paintings of old goblins, Gilirima said solemnly, "These are the ancestors of our goblin race, who made goblin lives better by sacrificing."

She turned her eyes to the statue at the end and introduced with a wide smile, "He's the greatest ancestor, Giliberu, who changed the way the world sees goblins."

Giliberu!

The name sent a jolt through Averon as he grinned. 'They do remember—and the ancestor they mentioned is me.'

For a moment, he recalled his life as Giliberu.

He turned to the statue. It was carved from white marble stone, and painted green to highlight goblin skin.

The statue's height was that of a six-year-old human kid, clad in a white tunic shirt and blue trousers, holding a heavy metal staff in his right hand.

The features belonged to an old Giliberu, with white-gray hair at the temples, wrinkled, dried skin, and a skinny body where bones were clearly visible.

Gilirima added bitterly, "We don't know much about him, but our goblin forefathers estimated he would have looked like this when he did penance. Hence, every Goblin Ancestor Giliberu statue is like this."

Averon nodded. 'This isn't bad at all. The statue was far superior to the actual Giliberu in handsomeness.'

The grotesque face was not as disgusting as the real Giliberu.

Gilirima introduced the ancestors in the paintings as Averon and Lily listened with interest.

After some time, they reached near the altar.

The Goblin Lord was praying, clapping his hands while kneeling down.

Gilirima said with a wide smile, "This ancestor was also the very first ancestor to be clad in clothes."

Averon's eyes twitched. He recalled how every goblin would just wear a leaf skirt. And how he was teased by other goblins.

'I even had a title as 'Shy Goblin',' he grinned with nostalgia.

The next moment, Gilirima turned solemn, knelt down, clapped her hands, and prayed, "Oh, Goblin Ancestor…"

The Goblin Lord stood up, lit incense sticks, and placed them near the statue's legs, where an incense holder was placed.

A sweet, calming scent spread through the church.

Turning to the Goblin Lord, Lily asked sharply, "So how do we get recognition from a statue?" Her eyes were sharp and cold.

The Goblin Lord broke into a sweat but replied confidently, "The statue can speak—and if it doesn't, it glows when someone speaks to it with a true heart."

"True heart…" Averon raised his brows. 'How did my statue gain this kind of power? Even I, the main body, don't have it.'

"So what should I do?" the young slime asked.

"Speak your wish to the Goblin Ancestor," the Goblin Lord replied, pointing at the statue. "If he glows, we'll acknowledge you as our Lord and submit to you."

The Goblin Lord had a cunning smile as he moved back.

Lily narrowed her eyes.

'Do they have a different plan?' Averon wondered. 'However, this is my statue… I wonder if it can harm me.'

He glanced down at the King's Mark—it was a new day, and he could unleash it again. And Lily was standing next to him.

He then raised his gaze, staring into the statue's eyes.

Gilirima sneakily pulled the Goblin Lord back and cast, "Demonic Silence Barrier!"

The dark demonic force erupted from her, covering a few meters around them like a dark cone barrier, and disappeared in the next moment.

She asked, knitting her brows, "Do you think the Goblin Ancestor will acknowledge him?"
