Chapter 348: Chapter 338 Brother Li

A tenth-tier martial disciple? What even is that? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Smack!

Chu Hao casually waved a palm, and Steward Wu’s advancing figure immediately halted as if he were a puppet whose strings had been abruptly dropped by its master, leaving him completely unable to move.

"Just sit over there nicely." Chu Hao huffed, and Wu Cheng immediately plopped down, producing a booming sound, even smashing a hole through the floor.

It was clear to everyone that Steward Wu hadn’t sat down willingly, but the question was, who was Wu Cheng?

He was the spokesperson for the City Lord’s Mansion; Li Li was hardly ever seen outside the mansion, spending most of his time indoors, with Steward Wu handling most of the affairs, his prowess well acknowledged as easily quelling the Nine Great Nobles.

This was precisely why people speculated that the strength of the City Lord’s Mansion was inscrutable, because if a mere steward was so formidable, the power of Li Li was naturally even stronger.

But now, with just an airborne palm, Chu Hao had forced Wu Cheng to sit on the ground, even smashing through the floor. What kind of terrifying strength was that?

Mo Guyun felt his teeth chatter. He remembered what Chu Hao had told him earlier, warning him not to regret his decisions later. Now... he finally sensed trouble, realizing Chu Hao’s strength was far more terrifying than he had imagined.

Could he possibly possess the power to confront the City Lord’s Mansion?

Impossible, impossible. The power of the City Lord’s Mansion was unparalleled in the world, impossible for anyone to surpass, not even qualifying to stand on equal footing.

He consoled himself with this thought.

The beautiful lady appeared confused. Why hadn’t Wu Cheng managed to rescue her son even after making his move? She pointed at Chu Hao, saying, "You ruffian, release my son this instant, or I will slaughter your entire family from top to bottom—"

Smack!

A slapping sound echoed, the beautiful lady covering her face, incredulous as she looked at Chu Hao. She had actually been slapped across the face by a palm he swung through the air!

She was the wife of the City Lord, akin to a queen in Eastern Cloud City. Who dared to strike the queen?

"You, you, you—" she pointed at Chu Hao, her lips trembling, so furious she couldn’t speak properly.

"Swear again, and you’ll be slapped just the same." Chu Hao shot her a warning glance, his gaze passing over the hole in the shattered wall with a playful smile, murmuring, "Adversity reveals true nature; it’s just right to see who is loyal and who is a fair-weather follower."

He punched out, boom! The punch stirred the air, instantly blowing away the entire fourth floor’s wall, exposing the entirety of his room. Now anyone looking down would see a crowd fleeing from the inn—too many mouths to gossip, and keeping the young city lord’s kidnapping a secret was impossible.

On the distant streets, many figures were approaching, all prominent figures from the great noble families.

As one of the Eight Great Nobles, Chu Hao confronting the young scion of the City Lord’s Mansion was naturally a momentous event, causing even those "retired" big shots to come out in person.

Old Master Fu, Old Master Chen, Old Master Zheng, elders of the Eight Great Nobles were all present, the only exception being Li Li, the city lord in question, who was conspicuously absent.

Chu Hao spotted Tang Xin, who was accompanying Old Master Tang. Seeing Chu Hao looking his way, Tang Xin grinned and revealed a hint of confusion; they had previously agreed that toppling the City Lord’s Mansion was a minor matter which Tang Xin would handle, yet surprisingly, Chu Hao had taken action that very evening.

"Chu Hao, let’s talk nicely. Release Young Master Hao first," Old Master Chen shouted loudly.

Chu Hao shook his head, saying, "This boy acts recklessly, treating lives as trifles. One of my relatives was almost beaten to death by him, so, I also want him to taste this flavor."

Hiss!

Everyone gasped in shock. To beat the young city lord to death? What are you made of, daring to even say such words?

"Release him at once!" the head of the Qian Family said. He had no particular friendship with the Chu Family, and considering himself much stronger than Chu Hao, he saw no need to regard this junior with any significance.

"Bastard, did you hear? Release my son now!" the beautiful lady also screamed, looking at her son’s tearfully pained expression, her heart was breaking.

"Can’t you shut up?" Chu Hao casually waved two palms, smack, smack, immediately sending two figures flying from the fourth floor.

"Ah—" One was naturally the City Lord’s wife, who lacking actual strength, fell through the air, flailing her limbs and nearly having a heart attack.

The other was Steward Wu.

Whoosh, whoosh, the heads of the Qian and Cheng families almost simultaneously flew out to catch the City Lord’s wife and Wu Cheng. But when the people saw Wu Cheng fainting, each one of them was shocked.’

They naturally knew Wu Cheng’s capabilities; he was the recognized second strongest expert of the City Lord’s Mansion, a legitimate tenth tier of the Vajra Realm, yet now he had been knocked unconscious.

Who else could it be but Chu Hao?

The head of the Qian Family had wanted to yell at Chu Hao, but seeing this scene, he wisely shut his mouth. With even Steward Wu defeated, who had the standing to challenge Chu Hao? Now it was a fight for King Yan, and the lesser devils could only watch from the sidelines.

They awaited Li Li to take action; no one else was possibly a match for Chu Hao.

Chu Hao sat alone in the high building, like an emperor, with everyone else merely fit to worship him from below. He glanced at Mo Guyun, asking, "Regretting it now?"

Mo Guyun gritted his teeth and said, "Don’t be so smug. Once the Lord of the City arrives, all you can do is obediently accept your death."

"It seems you still haven’t learned your lesson," Chu Hao shook his head and then smiled at Li Hao, saying, "Let’s continue."

"No! No!" Li Hao quickly shook his head, tears and snot streaming down his face, unable to endure such torture.

"Had you known this day would come, why act as you did? If there’s a next life for you, remember to be a good person," Chu Hao said indifferently.

"You, you’re going to kill me?" cried Li Hao. Wasn’t it enough that this guy had tormented him so much?

"Don’t you deserve to die?" Chu Hao countered. "Ask yourself, how much cruelty have you inflicted, how many people have you harmed?"

"Those were just lower beings. A thousand deaths, ten thousand deaths, how does that compare to me?" Li Hao stated unrepentantly.

"You truly deserve to die!" Chu Hao shook his head, seeing no sign of reflection from the other side.

"Release me, or my father will surely kill you, he definitely will!" Li Hao alternated between pleading and bravado, acting like a madman.

"Chu Hao!" Finally, a commanding voice thundered as Li Li, the City Lord of Eastern Cloud City, made his appearance dressed in brocade robes. His not-so-tall stature radiated a powerful authority that even made the giants of the Eight Great Nobles seem weaker in his presence.

"Release him!" he commanded, his face bearing an intimidating aura of angerless authority, his powerful presence making everyone tremble, as if they could hardly stand.

All but one person, Tang Xin, because he too was a martial master.

The levels of martial arts in the Lower World were too backwards, so naturally, there was no need for a Martial Sect to oversee this—being a martial master was more than sufficient. However, Li Li was still a bit stronger than Tang Xin, mostly due to his age, having reached the Six Meridians, whereas Tang Xin, having only recently had access to Chu Hao’s resources, had just broken through to the Five Meridians.

"Tang Xin, can you handle it?" Chu Hao asked.

"Of course!" Tang Xin replied eagerly, stepping forward to block Li Li’s path, saying, "Brother Li, let’s spar."

Brother Li?

Upon hearing Tang Xin say this, all the elders of the Eight Great Nobles were collectively dumbfounded. Li Li was the City Lord of Eastern Cloud City, his strength enigmatic and unfathomable, and even the united force of the Eight Great Nobles was no match for him.

To address him so casually, wasn’t that the height of irreverence?

It wasn’t just foolhardy.

All eyes turned towards Old Master Tang, as Tang Xin was his most favored grandson. What to do now? Having angered Li Li, not only might Tang Xin die, but the Tang Family could be dragged down into disastrous misfortune as well.

Old Master Tang had a complex expression. On one hand, he believed the things his grandson had told him during the day, yet on the other hand, he found it hard to believe that his grandson could stand against Li Li at such a young age.

"Who would’ve thought you’d have taken that step so soon?" Contrary to everyone’s expectation, Li Li did not react with anger but instead looked at Tang Xin with a deep, seemingly approving gaze, acknowledging his address as "Brother Li."

Tang Xin was thrilled. Two years ago, he was no different from anyone else, seeing Li Li as a Heavenly God, an untouchable entity.

But now, he could stand on equal footing with him. The difference of a minor realm was miniscule, and Li Li’s potential was nearly exhausted, unlike him, in the prime of his youth, with an abundant supply of cultivation resources—it wouldn’t be long before he surpassed Li Li.

"Come on, fight with all you’ve got," he said, his fighting spirit soaring.

Li Li snorted. "You are indeed remarkable, but you’re still no match for me. In a fight with me, you can only lose, not win."

"We’ll only know after we’ve fought!" Tang Xin retorted stubbornly. He practiced the Minor Formless Mysterious Skill, and his Star Force was more concentrated, which might just close the gap of a minor realm.

He lunged forward, attacking Li Li.

Boom, boom, boom, they immediately engaged in a fierce battle, evenly matched for the time.

Seeing this unfold, everyone was stunned.

Tang Xin could actually stand against Li Li, an unimaginable feat. In their minds, Li Li was an untouchable Heavenly God. Now, it felt like the skies themselves were collapsing.

Incredible, truly incredible.

After two hundred moves, Tang Xin finally could not match and retreated to the side, stopping the fight.

He was young, after all, lacking the combat experience and depth in Martial Techniques that came from the teachings of the Yunliu Sect, thus still unable to match Li Li.

But this was enough to shock everyone. Old Master Tang’s face beamed with joy, finally believing the things his grandson had told him that day.

Li Li did not pursue the advantage. After all, the opponent was only slightly inferior. If it came to a life-threatening fight, he might have to pay a huge price, even possibly dying together.

"Chu Hao, quickly release Young Master Hao. Otherwise, these people will have to die!" At this moment, Huang Ting and Chen Bo suddenly appeared, holding Uncle Yu and nine others hostage, while behind them, Fat Cat, bored, yawned atop Flying Fire.
