Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy-Chapter 2553 Aethersage’s Request
Chapter 2553 Aethersage's Request
The ones who could not get involved in what was happening, namely the other three winners and their associates, were placed in a barrier bubble that protected just the few of them.
Aethersage could hear and see everything, but being inside the barrier, he couldn't do anything at all. The four people and four beasts had begun fighting near where Alex was.
The Alchemy God stood against the Sword God. And the War God, Poison God, and Puppet God stood to the other side, still undecided on what they wanted to do. The rest of the people that had come had yet to act.
As for the old woman who started all this, she was on the floor, kneeling on the ground as if she could not bear to witness that which she had asked everyone to do.
He felt a deep sense of disgust for her.
"This is wrong," Pinklily spoke from the side. "They are trying to kill him just for a prophecy."
"But… it is a prophecy of our doom," Wineweed said. "I do not believe there is a right or wrong in this matter. For our own survival, we need to do what is best."
Aethersage shook his head. "No, this is wrong, Master. Very wrong," he said and walked up to the edge of the barrier, looking at the man who stood right outside with his arms crossed.
The Formation God stood in protection of his future heir.
"Formation God," Aethersage called out before quickly choosing another word to refer to him. "Master!"
The Formation God turned to look at Aethersage.
"Don't look if you can't, disciple. It will be hurtful," he said.
"And leave my friend to die without doing anything, Master?" he asked. "Isn't that an easy way for me to struggle in my future?"
"Then watch," the Formation God said. "There is nothing else you can do anyway."
Aethersage looked at the many gods and accepted that. "You are right, Master. I am a nobody here, and I can't do anything. But you can. Surely you can stop it."
"I do not intend to," the Formation God said. "I am sorry for you, disciple, but this must happen. For the sake of our own survival."
"You say that like it's certain that he is our doom, Master. As far as I know, the future is never set. Anything can happen," Aethersage said. "Besides, how is a mere alchemist supposed to destroy the world? How is he supposed to destroy the sun and the moon? Who has ever even come close to being able to do so?"
The Formation God didn't say anything, but he did mull over the words. There was some semblance of sense in his disciple's words. How was one supposed to get to the sun? Even just a few millennia away from the Celestial Realm, he had yet to create a formation strong enough to allow him even halfway to the sun.
Most things were burned away getting that close to the sun, after all. So how could Alex ever do what he had been prophesied to do?
"You understand it, don't you, Master?" Aethersage asked. "You need more information."
The Formation God slowly nodded. He could agree to that much. "But if I were to get more information and it still appears that your friend might be the cause of our doom, what will you do?"
Aethersage fell silent at that moment. "If I was to handle the situation, I wouldn't kill him even if he were the cause. I would…" As much as he didn't want it, the critical thinking part of his mind was at work now.
"I would capture him instead of killing him. Understand what it is that gives him the power to destroy the entire world. If possible, I would take it for myself so that no one else could ever use that power."

The Formation God raised an eyebrow in surprise. He never expected his disciple to make such a decision when presented with such a complex dilemma.
"I did right in choosing you to inherit my knowledge," the Formation God said with a smile. "Alright, let me go find out what I can. If it is at all possible that the prophecy is wrong, I will save your friend."
Watching the Formation God leave, Aethersage breathed a sigh of relief. However, the situation was not done yet. Far from it.
The danger surrounding Alex was only getting worse.

"Anyone who dares attack my alchemist will become my sworn enemy," the Alchemy God claimed with an angry voice, causing each and every sage and reverend to think twice about what they wanted to do.
Becoming the Alchemy God's enemy did not just mean a threat to their life, but also that they would lose a major supplier of the most important pills for them. When they needed the best pills to be made, this was where they would come.
So, with the Alchemy God against them, their future cultivation itself would be at risk. They could not offend this man. The only people who could offend him and get away with it were the Gods, so most of them let the Gods handle the situation.
The Alchemy God stood before the Sword God, his eyes glaring at the man before him.
The Sword God held his purple sword upright in his hand, its blade leaning on his shoulder. "Why are you so adamant about saving just one person?" he asked. "You heard what Starsight said. He is to be our doom. This must be done."
"I will not trust the words of a woman who wasn't able to divine a single thing for the past century. She needs to prove herself first for me to believe that she is correct. Even then, I may not let you kill my Alchemist."
The Sword God scoffed. "Do you think of yourself as a saint now?" he asked mockingly.
"Have you forgotten how many others you have killed for less? What hypocrisy is this that you now want to save someone who will destroy us all?"
