Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode-Chapter 522: Sensing It
Chapter 522: Sensing It
The morning air was thick with silence and cold when Clyde opened his eyes. The sky beyond the window was still dark, not yet touched by dawn. It was around 4 a.m judging by the stillness that blanketed the world.
He sat up with ease. He feels his body light and rested. His new vessel responded well, better than he expected.
Clyde dressed in Jack’s old tracksuit and quietly stepped out of the room. The house was silent. No sign of the uncle.
Outside, the streets were empty, lit only by the occasional flicker of a streetlamp. In his mind, Jack’s memories guided him through the layout of the neighborhood.
It was strange, having someone else’s memories like this, but helpful nonetheless.
He jogged in a steady pace and cutting through a few alleys until he reached a small park nestled between apartment blocks and a fence of thin trees.
The place was empty and silent except for the distant chirp of early birds and the rustle of leaves in the breeze.
He took a breath and began stretching. It wasn’t anything elaborate just simple movements he remembered from long ago. Enough to wake the muscles and loosen the joints.
This body was different. Even with his magic sealed, the core of his being—the essence that had endured war, death, and rebirth—was still strong.
His physique, compared to a regular human, was already far above average.
He dropped to the ground and began his push-ups in fast paace. Dozens passed. Then a hundred. Then more. He don’t even feel tired.
Pull-ups came next. He moved to the metal bar by the playground and started the next round of drills and burning through each rep like a machine.
The sun began to rise slowly. Orange cracked through the sky and colored the buildings.
He finally stopped. Not because he was tired, but because he felt something.
A flicker deep inside his body, buried within this mortal shell. His magic start stirring again.
He felt the quiet hum of his magic power pulsing beneath the skin. And more than that, he could feel the Ancient One’s energy too. It was still very faint now but clear. Clyde thinks that it was for the best.
It made him smirk. "So it’s all still there. Just sleeping. Good for now. They will not suspicious about me for the time being."
Then his senses flicked again.
He heard footsteps.
He turned his head slightly and saw a girl entering the park from the opposite path. She wore a light hoodie, jogging shoes, and tied her hair back casually.
Clyde squinted at her, and Jack’s memories surfaced.
She was familiar. Her name was Mina. She was Jack’s old friend from childhood.
They used to play when they were little, but time, life, and bullying had pulled them apart. In school, Jack never dared to speak to her. Just watched from afar. Always too scared to dragg Mina into his trouble or afraid that Mina saw him in his pathethic state.
Clyde thought that was sad. Jack’s soul really had been broken before he came.
Mina noticed him and approached with a smile.
"This is the first time I’ve seen you out here this early," she said warmly.
Clyde finished another pull-up, then landed with a light step.
"Guess I was just in the mood today," he replied, wiping his hands on his pants.
She chuckled lightly. "That’s new. You never really exercised before, right?"
He gave a sideways glance, nonchalant. "Maybe I changed."
With that, he stepped back up to the bar and continued pulling.
To his surprise, she joined him.
Mina grabbed the other side of the bar and began her own set of pull-ups. She was slower but with a determined rhythm. She glanced at him mid-way.
"You look different today," she said. "I mean... not just the exercise."
Clyde didn’t answer at first. His arms lifted him again.
Then finally, he said, "Not sure what you mean," and kept going.
The air between them settled into a quiet rhythm of movement and breath.
Clyde wasn’t here to reconnect.
They continued in silence for nearly an hour.
Mina kept up beside him the whole time. Alternating between jogging, stretches, and more pull-ups.
Clyde kept to his routine with mechanical focus. He didn’t speak unless necessary, and Mina didn’t press him, though she often glanced his way with subtle curiosity.
Then it happened.
A soft, blue glow flickered briefly in the corner of Clyde’s vision. A notification only he could see.

Clyde exhaled through his nose and let out a dry chuckle.
"Only one point each after all that?" he thought. "This system really wants to make me work for it."
Mina looked his way. "What’s funny?"
"Nothing," he replied quickly. "Just done for today."
He hopped down from the bar, grabbed the towel slung around his neck, and patted his face dry.
"I’m heading back."
Mina straightened up from her stretch. "Wanna walk to school together later?"
Clyde turned to look at her. Her smile was hopeful and warm.
"No," he said flatly.
He didn’t wait for her reaction. He simply turned and jogged away down the park path, leaving her behind with the rustling wind and long shadow of morning.
Mina stood still. Her lips parting slightly at the rejection. But she didn’t seem surprised. Just a little disappointed.
"...figured," she murmured to herself before jogging in the opposite direction.

By the time Clyde arrived at school the streets had begun to stir with life. Students filed in lazily through the front gates.
Clyde walked quietly through the courtyard, backpack slung over one shoulder. But his mind wasn’t on school.
It never was.
"I can’t waste time like this by going to school," he thought grimly. "This daily act just a mask. The Selection Stage could begin anytime."
His hands clenched in his pockets. "The first time it came, I didn’t expect it either. It just began with no warning or any signs. The sky shattered and everything changed."
Then he felt a twinge.
Clyde froze mid-step, his foot hovering above the pavement. freёweɓnovel_com
It wasn’t a noise or a sound or a breeze. It was some kinf of magic. His magical senses caught it.
His eyes narrowed. Slowly, he scanned the crowd around him.
"That wasn’t natural. There were someone or something magical is nearby?"
It wasn’t strong. But it was definitely there.
Clyde’s mind sharpened like a blade.
"Who else here is have magic power right now?"
