Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode-Chapter 456: Dying Sun
Chapter 456: Dying Sun
While the searing light of the sun flared against the writhing black mist of corruption, Asqa soared beside the clash, her focus locked onto Fujin.
She didn’t slow or hesitate. There was no time left for caution. She wanted this battle ended quickly.
Like Clyde, she knew this domain was already drawing too much attention. Reinforcements would arrive soon. And before they did she and Clyde needed to thin the ranks of the Celestials. Every god they killed tilted the balance in their favor.
She had already killed one . That alone marked progress. But it wasn’t enough.
She had to keep killing. The fewer enemies remained the stronger she and Clyde would become. The less resistance they would face.
High above, Fujin felt something twist in his chest. The divine connection with Hachiman had vanished and the truth struck him. Hachiman was dead.
He could barely believe it.
Hachiman — the God of War — was supposed to be the last one standing, if not him. Not like this and so quickly. Defeated by these anomalies
But now he was gone and Fujin knew then that these enemies weren’t just powerful, they were much more terrifying than he thought.
That man had been holding back earlier when he faced him. Fujin realized it with icy dread. Because now, Clyde was battling Amaterasu and matching her power. Amaterasu, who was stronger than Fujin and Hachiman.
"Enough grief!" Fujin told himself. Enough hesitation. Hachiman must be avenged.
"I’ll kill that creature," he snarled with surgin fure. Wind howled around him as he flared his power while diving toward Asqa.
Asqa spotted him approachin fast. But she didn’t falter.
She wasn’t a melee fighter by nature. Even though she was sure that the Celestial power she had absorbed gave her the strength to fight hand-to-hand she chose to remain at a distance.
She raised her wand.
In mere seconds, thirty enormous fireballs roared into existence in front of her. The sheer magnitude of her power now made such feats feel effortless.
Fujin’s eyes widened in disbelief, but he had no time to react.
She launched the fireballs.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
...
One after another, they slammed into him and detonated in the sky — a wave of explosive force so massive it rivaled the clash between Clyde and Amaterasu nearby.
The sky lit up with hellish flames, shockwaves cracking the ground of Amaterasu’s domain, toppling buildings and tearing into the floating structures.
From the inferno, Fujin emerged. His face burned, his body scorched, and black mist now curling around his wounds.
He survived but could feel that his body is failing, the pain lancing through him. He gritted his teeth and pushed forward, trying to close the gap to Asqa.
But she didn’t let him get too close.
With the same calm ruthlessness, Asqa conjured another twenty fireballs and launched them.
Then another twenty more in the next wave.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
...
Fire rained from the heavens. She bombarded him mercilessly, one wave after another.
Meanwhile, few meters beside them, Clyde and Amaterasu remained locked in place while suspended in a clash of raw power.
The sky pulsed with white-hot light and pitch-black mist. Neither of them moved. Their energy colliding in the air, pushing against one another like two divine forces of nature that unwilling to yield.
The black mist surged forward, slowly but surely pressing against Amaterasu’s solar radiance.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. Her sacred and all-consuming light, was being forced back.
Clyde gritted his teeth, the smirk that once played on his lips now gone. The casual and mocking grace he wore like a second skin had fallen away, replaced by grim resolve.
No more playing and holding back. He had reached the edge of his patience and now, he was beginning to reach the edge of his power. After he had fought with Susanoo and Tsukuyomi his power were start to drain. He actually overestimating his power and level but that was thought for another time.
The black mist around him thickened as he drew deeper from the wellspring of the Ancient One’s source. It responded to his call and flooding his body and soul with more strength. His aura flared, blue-black tendrils writhing violently as he pushed further against Amaterasu’s solar blaze.
For the first time, her light wavered under the pressure.
But Clyde’s thoughts were already two steps ahead. He could sense the approaching tide of other Celestials or perhaps even Archangels. Time was running thin. He had to end this now.
His right arm trembled from the effort of containing the growing black mist. Slowly, he raised the hand clutching the Elderglass sword. The air around the blade cracked and distorted as its cursed metal channeled his energy.
Moving it felt like lifting a mountai but he endured. His teeth clenched.
Then, with a sudden and focused motion, he leveled the blade at Amaterasu.
A thin beam of concentrated blue-black lightning exploded from the tip, screaming through the battlefield. It tore through the mist and the light.
Amaterasu barely had time to react. The bolt struck her square in the chest.
Her body jolted. Her mouth opened in a gasp and a stream of blood poured out. Her divine radiance sputtered. The light dimmed.
Clyde didn’t hesitate.
Instead of pressing with more mist he released it. The corruption began to scatter and fade like smoke caught in a storm. And in that sudden moment of disarray he moved
Before Amaterasu could even blink, Clyde stood in front of her. His arm drove forward in one smooth motion. The Elderglass sword pierced her.
The blade slid into her abdomen, singing with malevolent power, its corruption burrowing into her core.
Amaterasu’s eyes widened in shock, light leaking from her mouth, her wounds, and her very pores as the sword drained her strength.
Their faces were only inches apart now.
He twisted the blade and Amaterasu let out a scream and the whole domain shook.
Above and below, the domain itself trembled as one of the greatest of the Celestials was dying.
The portal opened in the ground. Zeus and Bael step out from the portal with their army and saw the devastating sight with wide eyes.
