Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 179: You Gave Birth to My Child, Yet Still Won
Sienna could tell that Silas was serious.
Their relationship had started over, but it wasn’t at the point where they could get married yet.
The first time, she’d stumbled into things with Silas in a daze, and that’s why it ended the way it did.
They’d both suffered a lot during that process.
She’d even lost her beloved son.
This time around, she didn’t want to repeat her old mistakes—every step, she wanted to think things through carefully.
Sienna quickly interjected to stop him: "Silas, things between us aren’t what you think. I don’t need you to take responsibility for me. Let’s talk about everything else after you recover your memory."
Silas gazed at her, earnest and genuine: "Is it because I did something unforgivable to you before? Is that why you gave birth to my child but still won’t forgive me?"
Sienna wanted so badly to say, your son wasn’t born to me—he’s the child of you and some other woman.
But she was worried that Julian wouldn’t be able to handle hearing that.
So she could only shake her head: "It’s complicated. I’ll explain everything later. What you need to do now is regain your memory as soon as possible and take back what belongs to you."
Lucy Rhodes also nodded: "Julian, Sienna’s right. The Prescott Group is already a mess; everyone outside is spreading rumors that Damien is going to take your place. Even though Grandpa stepped in to keep things under control, it seems like he might not be able to. You need to get better fast."
Hearing that, a layer of coldness settled in Silas’s eyes.
"Don’t worry—I won’t let the bad guys get their way."
While they were still talking, the door suddenly swung open.
A middle-aged woman in haute couture stood in the doorway, her eyes an exact match for Silas’s.
The instant he saw this woman, all of Silas’s good mood vanished.
He said, his tone cold and distant, "What are you doing here? You’re not welcome."
The woman walked in elegantly, looking Silas up and down.
Her lips curled into a cold sneer: "No matter what, I’m still your mother. Is this how you talk to me?"
The veins throbbed in Silas’s forehead. "The moment you refused to save me, I stopped having a mother. Ms. Sommers, from now on, we are nothing to each other."
Sophie Sommers scoffed impatiently: "You think I want anything to do with you? You’re the child of me and that bastard, your father. If he hadn’t gotten drunk and forced himself on me back then, I wouldn’t have married him or given birth to you. To me, you’re totally unnecessary—not even as good as the kittens I keep."
Hearing all that, Silas’s fingertips trembled involuntarily.
Childhood memories suddenly swept through his mind.
He’d brought home a perfect test to show his mother, hoping for just one word of praise. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
But what he got wasn’t praise at all—just ridicule and mockery.
Back in kindergarten, every day he’d hope it would be his mother coming to pick him up.
But except for the family butler and his grandfather, he never saw anyone else.
He grew up with this constant cycle of hope and disappointment.
He didn’t know how many times he’d doubted himself.
He questioned whether he was good enough, wondered if he wasn’t doing enough. Otherwise, why didn’t his parents love him?
His young heart was crushed again and again, but his love for his parents never disappeared.
Until that one time he was kidnapped and both of them abandoned him.
Only then did he finally lock all that love away inside himself for good.
Recalling all this, Silas’s eyes turned bloodshot, and he looked at Sophie with a cold gaze.
"I don’t need your love anymore. Leave. I’ll just pretend I sprang full-grown from a rock."
Sophie let out a cold laugh: "Cutting ties with me? You’ll never have that luxury. You’re just an abandoned child—your father only loves his youngest son and not you. In my heart you’re less than a pet. Silas, you were born pathetic—a pitiful creature unloved by your parents. And not only do we not love you, no one else will, either."
Hearing that, Silas shook with fury all over.
Scenes of both his parents abandoning him in his darkest hour swirled through his mind.
Seeing his growing distress, Sienna gently stroked his head.
She spoke soothingly: "Silas, if they’re so heartless, you don’t need their love. You have me, and Julian, and Lucy, and Grandpa—every one of us loves you."
Julian also reached out with a tiny hand to touch his daddy’s cheek: "I love you, Dad. I’ll always love you."
Lucy chimed in, "Yeah, Julian, we’re here for you. We’re your family—your family who will always love you."
Those words finally calmed Silas, who’d been on the verge of breaking down.
His eyes red, he looked at Sienna, begging in his voice: "Sienna, don’t leave me, please?"
Sienna nodded: "Okay, I won’t leave you. Just sit down for me. Wait a moment."
She guided Silas into a chair.
Handed him a glass of water to help him recover.
Then she strode over to Sophie, her gaze ice-cold.
"So you’re the so-called mother who can’t take responsibility for Silas?"
Sophie raised an unimpressed eyebrow: "And what if I am?"
Sienna’s lips twisted with a cold smile.
Without hesitation, she slapped Sophie soundly across the face: "That was for Silas as a little boy—for the time when his life was on the line and you just abandoned him."
Before Sophie could react, Sienna slapped her again.
"And that’s on behalf of all the mothers in the world—for you being unworthy of the title. Since you chose to have him, you shouldn’t have been so cold that he ended up with psychological trauma. Let me make it clear: from now on, Silas is cutting off all ties with you as his mother. You’ll be getting a lawyer’s letter soon.
Someone as irresponsible as you does not deserve such an outstanding son. Get out of here now, or don’t blame me for what happens next."
After taking two slaps from a young woman, Sophie was shaking with rage.
She jabbed a finger at Sienna’s nose, shrieking, "Sienna, who the hell do you think you are? You actually dare hit me? I’ll tear your mouth apart!"
Just as she was about to hit Sienna, her wrist was seized tightly by Silas.
Without mercy, Silas threw her to the floor, his voice cold and harsh: "Get out. I don’t ever want to see you again."
Sophie was so angry she was grinding her teeth: "Silas, you dare hit me?"
"A few days ago, I begged you for help, but you ignored me. From that moment on, we were done as mother and son. If you provoke me again, I won’t be this gentle next time."
Hearing this, Sophie looked at him with some disbelief.
Had Silas really lost his memory?
Did he really only remember up to ten years old?
Remembering all his reactions just now, Sophie was convinced this was the case.
A sinister smile appeared on her lips: "Silas, just you wait. You’ll pay for what happened today."
With that, she turned and left.
Taking out her phone, she made a call: "Silas really did lose his memory. We can put our plan into motion."
A man’s voice answered, "Mom, are you sure you want to go through with this? My brother’s always treated me well."
