Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 129: You Took Off My Pants?
Last night coming up from the pool, she indeed changed Silas Prescott’s clothes.
But she washed and dried them and then put them back on him exactly as they were, how could he notice?
Chloe Nash looked at Silas Prescott calmly: "President Prescott, I don’t have a habit of taking off people’s pants while they sleep, don’t accuse a good person."
Silas Prescott leaned down, whispering hoarsely in Chloe Nash’s ear, "But how come my underwear is missing? You wouldn’t secretly have a crush on me, wanting to steal my underwear and hug it while you sleep, would you?"
As the man spoke, his moist and warm lips brushed against Chloe Nash’s ear intentionally or not.
The magnetic and pleasant voice vibrated her eardrums.
It made her ears burn in an instant.
Chloe Nash, startled, quickly moved back, eyes widening: "You’re talking nonsense, I clearly put them on you."
When those words came out, their heated gazes clashed.
Only then did Chloe Nash realize she had fallen into Silas Prescott’s trap.
The devious man deliberately angered her, forcing her to reveal the truth.
She cursed Silas Prescott harshly in her mind eight hundred times.
Silas Prescott, on the other hand, looked at her with a smile in his eyes, his tone relaxed: "So, you really did take off my pants?"
At this point, Chloe Nash found it unnecessary to hide anymore.
"You drank too much last night and threw up all over, I helped you change. You’re the patient, I’m the doctor, in front of a doctor there’s no male or female, what’s so strange about that?"
She absolutely couldn’t let Silas Prescott find out he fell into the water last night and she was the one who rescued him.
Seeing her full of lies, Silas Prescott only felt a sting in his heart.
His Sienna really didn’t want to acknowledge him, preferring to make up such reasons to deceive him rather than admitting she was Sienna Paxton.
If he revealed the truth now, would she secretly run away like she did five years ago?
Thinking of this possibility, Silas Prescott swallowed back all the words he wanted to say.
A trace of gloominess appeared in his dark eyes.
"Sorry, I missed Sienna too much last night, and I unintentionally drank too much. Thank you for taking care of me, I made breakfast in return." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Chloe Nash, seeing he no longer doubted her, finally relaxed her tense heart.
She stared at Silas Prescott’s wound and earnestly advised: "The wound is still inflamed, there’s a high chance of recurring fever; after the alcohol wears off, just take some anti-inflammatory medicine."
"Okay, I’ll take it later. Let’s go, I’ve prepared breakfast, after eating, I’ll drive you to work."
"No need, I’ll drive myself."
The two went downstairs together, and upon seeing the breakfast on the table, Chloe Nash’s fingers couldn’t help but curl up a bit.
The table was laid out with all the breakfasts Sienna Paxton loved to eat.
There were wonton noodles, soup dumplings, fried dough sticks, rice rolls, sandwiches, and some small snacks she liked to eat.
This was the breakfast Silas Prescott often prepared for Sienna when they were together.
At the time, she lived near the school, while Silas Prescott’s company was nearly an hour’s drive away.
Each time he’d get up, prepare breakfast for her, then drive to work.
Worried she’d oversleep, he even customized an alarm clock to wake her up.
Recalling those moments, Chloe Nash felt as if she had returned to five years ago.
Her steps slowed significantly.
Silas Prescott, noticing something was off, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is the breakfast not to your taste? I don’t know what you like, so I prepared according to Sienna’s preferences, hope you don’t mind."
Chloe Nash quickly gathered her thoughts, shook her head, and said, "No, it’s just a bit too much."
"Sienna was frail; I always wanted her to eat abundantly for balanced nutrition. I cared for her for four years and finally got her healthy, but then she disappeared. Dr. Nash, why did she leave me despite how well I treated her? I can never figure it out."
He handed Chloe Nash a bowl of noodles, added a dumpling and placed the rice rolls and sandwich on her plate.
His patience and meticulousness were just like the Silas Prescott from five years ago.
During those meals, it was he who served her food, sometimes even removing the fish bones.
Yet it was this very man she desperately wanted to escape from.
Chloe Nash was at a loss on how to answer Silas Prescott’s question.
She sipped a bit of soup, trying her best to hide the emotions in her eyes.
"Perhaps what she wanted was not these things."
But freedom.
Yet Chloe Nash didn’t dare say this out loud, worried Silas Prescott might discover something.
Silas Prescott’s deep gaze focused on her: "When I find her again, no matter what she wants, I’ll give it to her, as long as she never leaves me again."
Hearing these words, Chloe Nash felt a pang in her heart.
If she and Silas Prescott had a purely antagonistic relationship, she wouldn’t feel this upset.
Her feelings towards him were too complex, hard even for her to comprehend.
Silas Prescott was the dream of her teenage years, the object of her youthful infatuation.
With such a perfect brother, how could she not love him?
Except she never expected his perfection was merely superficial, with a suffocating sinister ghost beneath the surface.
Entangling her until she could barely breathe.
Just as Chloe Nash was struggling to find an answer to Silas Prescott’s question, her phone suddenly rang.
Seeing it was her father’s call, she immediately answered.
Before she could speak, Mr. North’s anxious voice came through.
"Chloe, I need to tell you something, don’t panic, okay?"
One sentence, and Chloe Nash sensed something was wrong.
The chopsticks in her hand dropped onto the table with a clatter, her voice tensing up.
"Dad, did something happen?"
Mr. North’s voice trembled: "Your mom accidentally fell off the cliff while taking pictures this morning and hasn’t been found yet. I’m worried about the worst, hurry over."
Hearing this, Chloe Nash was dumbfounded.
The Mornfell Mountain is two thousand meters high, falling from the cliff, if not fatal, would mean serious injuries.
Chloe Nash’s mind instantly flashed to the real Chloe’s dying words to her.
"Sienna, please take care of my parents, I beg you."
She used her life to protect her, yet she failed to safeguard her family.
Tears streamed down Chloe’s cheeks.
Her voice choked as she said, "Dad, I’m heading over now. I’ll call Jett Sterling, he’s in Varden, I’ll have him help search."
"Okay, be careful on the way."
Disconnecting the call, Chloe Nash slumped into her chair, her fingers trembling as she tried to call Jett Sterling.
Seeing her like this, Silas Prescott immediately embraced her, gently stroking her back: "Don’t worry, I’ll send people to search right away and we’ll find your mom soon."
Chloe Nash looked up at Silas Prescott, her voice carrying a pleading tone.
"Silas Prescott, please save my mom, she can’t have anything happen, or else, I..."
Otherwise, she would have failed the real Chloe.
Silas Prescott didn’t know the relationship between Sienna and Chloe.
What exactly happened between the two of them.
Chloe allowed Sienna to take her identity, to return to her parents, whether the real Chloe still exists in this world.
Silas Prescott bent down, gently brushing away Chloe Nash’s tears with his thumb, softly comforting: "Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to your mom, I’ll make arrangements now."
