Entangled in Midnight: Mrs Grant wants a Divorce-Chapter 150: Madam, Give Me a Chance to Take You Out
The mansion at Azurean Bay was spacious and lacked any warmth.
Almost after Eleanor Winslow moved out, Adrian Grant rarely returned here. Later, when he moved into Eleanor’s large apartment, he never returned at all, with servants sending over his laundered clothes.
Eleanor planned to stay in the guest room, but unexpectedly, the man had already placed his razor and other essentials in the guest room’s bathroom, and moved her suitcase to the master bedroom.
In less than an hour, the latest ready-to-wear clothing from various brands was delivered by sales representatives according to Eleanor’s measurements.
The villa instantly regained vitality, with the comings and goings of people filling the long-empty space in Adrian Grant’s heart.
The servants, who lived nearby, quickly returned to clean the house and prepare meals. When they saw Eleanor appear, they cheerfully called her ’Madam,’ as if they had been expecting it, completely unaware of her and Adrian Grant’s looming divorce.
The heart that had been cold and numb because of Melody Nash warmed in the lively atmosphere of the house, and Eleanor returned their smiles one by one.
Adrian Grant worked overtime in the study until ten in the evening.
Upon opening the door, he found Eleanor still awake, sitting on a small sofa in the hallway watching a documentary, her eyes vacant, obviously not watching.
Adrian Grant stood in front of her door for quite a while without the woman noticing, feeling a bit stifled.
He could only take the initiative to speak: "Why aren’t you asleep?"
Eleanor returned to her senses, was stunned for two seconds, and stood up.
"I haven’t thanked you yet."
Adrian Grant leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, smirking: "The last time you wanted to thank me properly, you planned to offer yourself. What’s your plan this time?"
Eleanor’s expression froze.
She had no such intention, looking rigidly at Adrian Grant with a hint of caution.
"Just teasing you!" Adrian Grant ruffled Eleanor’s hair, making it a mess.
After speaking, the man didn’t linger at all and returned to the guest room, closing the door.
As if his earlier words were truly just a thoughtless joke.
In the empty hallway, Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief.
She couldn’t determine if Adrian Grant was joking or not.
But one thing she could be sure of was that he probably did want something.
When the two of them hadn’t publicly confronted each other, he was quite infatuated with her body.
And now, Adrian Grant chose to completely respect her.
-
The next day.
Eleanor first went to the bank to prepare the jewelry and antique painting receipts and transfer documents left by Melody Nash in the safety deposit box. Not knowing where Melody Nash lived, she asked a bodyguard to deliver the items to Zoe Nash at her hotel to pass on to her mother.
Then she returned to school to handle the admission procedures for her doctoral studies, and to apologize for the abrupt departure at the celebration party that day. However, except for Julian Jacobs, the others happened to be unavailable.
Julian Jacobs asked Eleanor, "What happened a few days ago? Was there something upsetting?"
"Family matters, something was upsetting, but it’s been resolved." Eleanor said half-truthfully, not wanting to fully deceive Julian Jacobs, but also not wanting to share those troublesome family matters outside.
Julian Jacobs observed Eleanor for a moment, his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the colorful gemstone bracelet he had gifted her on her wrist, and he smiled: "Glad it’s resolved. If you encounter any difficulties, remember to find me."
"Okay, thank you, senior. Then let me treat you to a meal today as an apology!"
Julian Jacobs nodded in agreement, and the two of them walked side by side out of the school.
"Sister!"
Suddenly, a voice called out.
Zoe Nash waved happily and jogged over.
"I don’t have a sister." Eleanor reminded coldly, "You can address me by my full name."
"Sister..." Zoe Nash looked a bit hurt at Eleanor, then noticed Julian Jacobs beside her, paused, and curiously asked, "Who is this?"
Eleanor ignored Zoe Nash’s inquiry, saying to her, "Someone will visit your hotel today with items to pass to your mother, thank you."
After saying that, she directly told Julian Jacobs, "Senior, let’s go."
Julian Jacobs nodded, as if he hadn’t even seen Zoe Nash.
Zoe Nash watched the two leave, subconsciously biting her lip.
"Student Nash?"
Zoe Nash turned around and saw a girl with delicate features: "Are you Delia Sullivan from the Aethelgard University debate team?"
"Yes!" Delia Sullivan nodded happily.
As the second debater in the competition, she did not stand out. She didn’t expect Zoe Nash to not only recall her but also remember her name, which made her feel appreciated.
"Student Nash, why are you here? Isn’t your debate team visiting Aethelgard’s attractions today?" Delia Sullivan asked curiously.
"I’ve been to those places. Zoe Nash pointed to the silhouette of Julian Jacobs and Eleanor walking away together not far away, asking, "Who is that person next to Student Winslow? I think I saw him backstage at the debate."
"His name is Julian Jacobs, he’s our senior."
Delia Sullivan’s tone was evidently sour and bursting with jealousy.
Yesterday, she had texted Julian Jacobs to ask him out for dinner and a movie, but he said he didn’t have time. Unexpectedly, it was because he had plans with Eleanor!
If she’d known, she wouldn’t have used the excuse of being busy to decline Eleanor’s invitation!
Zoe Nash asked with a mischievous smile, "Do you like that senior? He does seem very outstanding."
Delia Sullivan’s cheeks reddened with a bit of shyness, huffing, "Of course senior is outstanding, otherwise, Eleanor wouldn’t still be stringing him along despite having a man! The senior gave her a bracelet, and she’s wearing it on purpose, showing it off!"
A bracelet?
Zoe Nash hadn’t noticed, but she kept this in mind.
"Do you know why Student Winslow returned to school today?" She asked offhandedly but added quickly, "Am I prying into privacy? Sorry, I—"
"There’s nothing that can’t be said! She came back to handle direct doctorate enrollment procedures."
"I see, she’s amazing!"
...
"Miss, were you looking for that Miss Winslow? Didn’t find her?" the driver noticed Zoe Nash return so soon, inquiring.
Zoe Nash gave no answer, instructing, "Take me to the Grant Group headquarters."
Daniel was engaged in trading and maritime business in Europe. After the last cruise disembarkation, he got in touch with Adrian Grant. With the numerous industries under Grant Group needing overseas sales, Daniel specially returned home to discuss collaboration with Adrian Grant.
Zoe Nash expressed that she was Daniel’s daughter, confirmed by Daniel’s assistant, so the secretary arranged for her to wait in the guest room.
As soon as Daniel exited the meeting room, he saw a petite figure sitting on the sofa: "Zoe?"
Zoe stood up and ran over to give Daniel a big hug.
"Daddy, surprise?"
Daniel pretended to be angry and tapped Zoe’s nose: "What are you doing here? Daddy’s working, stop fooling around!"
Zoe snorted, glanced at Adrian, and then said to Daniel, "I know Mrs. Grant. I was originally planning to have a meal and chat with her, but she had plans, so I decided to come find you!"
"Miss Nash, my wife doesn’t like socializing, I hope you don’t approach her on your own." Adrian didn’t want Zoe proactively contacting Eleanor as it would remind her of sad things.
"Doesn’t like socializing?" Zoe frowned in confusion, "But I saw her chatting and laughing with a handsome guy today, didn’t seem like someone who doesn’t like socializing. That handsome guy seemed to be her senior; he even gave her a pretty bracelet before."
Handsome guy?
Senior?
A chilling glint flashed in Adrian’s eyes, but he said nothing.
He glanced at Charles, who was ready at all times.
Charles made a ’please’ gesture: "Mr. Daniel, Miss Nash, let me escort both of you out, this way please."
"Mr. Grant, if you’re worried, the next time I want to invite your wife out, I’ll send you a formal invitation first, okay?" Zoe persisted.
Adrian didn’t reply to her but instead looked at Daniel.
Daniel looked helplessly at his daughter, said goodbye to Zoe and Adrian.
"Zoe, I’m discussing business with President Grant, what would sending him an invitation achieve? Even if you want to meet Mrs. Grant, you should send her an invitation."
"Oh."
"Why are you so interested in Mrs. Grant?" Daniel asked, puzzled.
Only then did Zoe remember that Daddy still didn’t know about Mommy’s connection to Eleanor.
However, there was no need to tell Daddy.
"Mrs. Grant is very outstanding, I’d like to learn more about her!"
Daniel always pampered his daughter and didn’t pursue the matter further.
-
Eleanor’s phone rang while she was having lunch with Julian.
"Have you eaten?"
In the President’s office, Adrian held his phone expressionlessly, yet his tone and voice sounded normal.
"I’m eating right now." Eleanor instinctively glanced at Julian.
Julian pointed towards the restroom and stepped out voluntarily.
A polite act of not overhearing others’ phone conversations.
"Did the kitchen prepare dishes to your liking today?" Adrian asked.
"Yeah, they’re quite tasty." Eleanor thought as the meal was about to end, there was no need to say much, so she went along with his words to avoid trouble.
Adrian lit a cigarette and took a puff, the nicotine calming the multitude of emotions within him, like magma frozen under ice.
He said, "The weather’s nice today, shall I accompany you for a stroll this afternoon?"
Eleanor was stunned.
Sunbathing and strolling, such peaceful and warm activities, Adrian had never accompanied her in doing before.
"...I need to accompany Blake for a prenatal check-up this afternoon."
Adrian smirked silently, yet his eyes remained cold.
He gently accused, "Mrs. Grant, you’re not giving me the chance to invite you on a date."
Eleanor said, "I do need to accompany Blake for the check-up."
Adrian didn’t insist and agreed with a ’fine’.
Julian came back when Eleanor had already finished the call. She tried to pay the bill but was told it was already settled.
"How’s it proper for a woman to pay?" Julian laughed, helping Eleanor with her bag, "Shall we stroll around?"
Eleanor hurriedly took her bag to carry herself: "No, I have to accompany a friend to the hospital this afternoon."
"Accompanying Miss Lockwood?" Julian asked.
"How do you know?" Eleanor was shocked.
"I happened to hear about matters involving Miss Lockwood and the Hawthorne Family." Julian said, "Miss Lockwood’s parents and mine are also acquaintances, let me give you a ride over, and also visit Miss Lockwood."
Julian brought up his connection with Blake Lockwood, intending to visit Blake, leaving Eleanor unable to reject, so she sent Blake a message in advance explaining the situation.
Julian’s visit was quite formal, bringing health supplements, and then actively drove Eleanor and Blake to the hospital.
Blake didn’t refuse, and Eleanor found it hard to say anything.
Julian didn’t leave immediately after taking them to the hospital, saying he’d take them back later.
Once they were a bit away from Julian, Blake murmured to Eleanor: "My parents and his parents do have some ties, but haven’t contacted for years, suddenly showing up to visit!"
"And you let him become a burden!" Eleanor said, speechless.
Julian is still a patient!
"Wasn’t he deliberately offering himself?" Blake mischievously winked at Eleanor, "Eleanor, he’s interested in you!"
Eleanor was shocked: "Don’t talk nonsense!"
"Absolutely! I’d bet the naming rights of my child on it!"
"..."
Eleanor carefully recalled Julian’s various behaviors, indeed... seeming... a bit attentive towards her.
Feeling slightly apprehensive, Eleanor only hoped Blake was joking, and she wasn’t overthinking it.
"I don’t feel that way about him." To prevent her friend from acting rashly, Eleanor declared first.
"Alright." Blake seemed slightly disappointed, "I’ll thank him myself later, he came for me, it has nothing to do with you."

Grant Group, President’s office.
Adrian received news from the hospital: "President Grant, Mrs. Grant indeed accompanied Miss Lockwood to the hospital for a prenatal check-up, escorted by a young man in his twenties, whom Mrs. Grant referred to as ’senior’."
Suddenly, the President’s office seemed to drop several degrees, the air pressure sinking, sending chills down one’s spine.
