Enemies Are All Nourishment for My Fungi-Chapter 257 - : Eradicating the Enemy’s Military Fortress in the Secret Realm (2)
Chapter 257: Chapter 257: Eradicating the Enemy’s Military Fortress in the Secret Realm (2)
“Fuck!”
Ye Nai couldn’t help but blurt out a curse.
“Don’t tell me this is also one of the Priest’s abilities?”
Ye Nai thought about it and felt something was off. How could a person have such a persistent, massive amount of energy to constantly maintain the inside of the Military Fortress clear of thick fog without a hint of it?
“No, there must be something that can disperse the dense fog.”
Ye Nai licked her slightly cracked lips, becoming interested in the supplies stored inside the fortress.
As soon as this thought occurred, she immediately controlled the constantly devouring Space, leaving some alive. She wanted to find and capture that tattooed Priest and interrogate him.
Language barrier?
Not a problem, body language is universal.
After sitting idly for another five or six minutes, the Space stopped moving, no longer capturing new enemies. Ye Nai spotted the Priest immediately amongst them.
His attire was the most distinctive.
Everyone had tattoos, the warriors too, but the patterns were inconsistent. Some had many, others few; some had large ones, others had small ones.
The Priests were the most unique, with their entire body from head to face to arm to leg covered in tattoos, wearing a big necklace around their necks and draped in a cloak made from animal hides.
Ye Nai released the Priest from the Space and threw him at her feet. He looked to have tight skin, probably not very old.
The patterns of the tattoos must all have their own meanings, but there were truly many. Ye Nai, who also had some knowledge of first aid and anatomy, thought upon seeing the Priest’s appearance, “If this guy needs an IV drip, how in the world would you find a vein?”
Fortunately, the man was still alive and hadn’t died in the Space.
To extract a confession, she used the three-fold method: half-squeeze the trachea, half-squeeze the vocal cords, and secure the limbs.
Then, wake the man up.
“Hey, hey…”
“#%¥…! #¥”
As soon as Ye Nai made a sound, the Priest blurted out a bunch of words first, then suddenly stopped with an incredulous expression on his face.
He likely finally realized his current situation.
“Listening, are you?”
“…##%¥”
The other spat out a barrage of words like a machine gun, sounding very aggressive.
“Great, talking to a wall here.”
Ye Nai shrugged her shoulders and manipulated the spores inside his body to give him a painful experience. This was a good opportunity for her to also understand the enemy’s physical condition, performing a bloodless dissection.
As soon as she started, the Priest began to howl. He didn’t cry out for long before tears and snot came streaming down; he seemed to have a low tolerance for pain. But with half his trachea and vocal cords squeezed, he couldn’t scream or take deep breaths, tormenting him to the verge of death.
Ye Nai let him experience the shallow depths of agony for five minutes.
She then patiently waited another minute, waiting for the Priest’s breathing to become stable, before she pointed outside the fortress walls at the thick fog.
“What method do you use to keep the thick fog out?”
The Priest’s eyes were blank, clearly not understanding her question.
And so, another five-minute pain package arrived.
This time, it was not the organs that suffered, but the blood vessels. A small group of spores set out from the heart and made their way into the head and peripheral vessels, occasionally forming a false clot to block the flow briefly before moving on.
The Priest once again experienced the feeling of dying and coming back to life.
It was just five minutes, not nearly enough to travel through all the blood vessels of the body. Ye Nai, kind-hearted as she was, stopped when time was up, still giving him a minute to calm down.
As soon as the time was up, Ye Nai pointed outside the city wall once more, repeating the earlier question.
“How do you keep the great fog outside?”
The tone of the Priest softened a lot when he spoke again, but there was still a language barrier between them, and Ye Nai wasn’t sure if he had understood her.
Just then, feedback came from the spores she had previously thrown under the altar, which had now grown into Fungal Mycelium. The altar was loosened and ready to be taken away at any moment.
Ye Nai had a brainwave and took the Priest back into Space, then used Space Teleportation to arrive beside the altar and released him.
When the Priest saw where he was, the utterly shocked expression on his face was supremely satisfying to Ye Nai.

Next, she nonchalantly rested her palm on the altar.
The faint light of the Magic Pattern on the altar unsurprisingly lit up.
The Priest immediately began shouting and looking at Ye Nai as if he had seen a ghost, filled with both terror and disbelief.
But that was not all. Ye Nai took the Priest to one of the city gates, making sure his head was turned so he could clearly see the thick fog outside, and then turned his head again to ensure he could see the clear and refreshing view within the perimeter enclosed by the city walls.
Fearing he did not understand the first time, she repeated this left and right three times.
Eventually, the Priest understood Ye Nai’s meaning, but his rapid speech was again incomprehensible.
Ye Nai took him back to the altar, while releasing a large number of spores into every room of the Military Fortress, removing all items including furniture and personal belongings and placing them in an open space, with foodstuffs and fruits from the storage rooms along with firewood from the kitchen all laid out.
The Priest’s eyes were wide open, and he kept babbling incessantly.
Ye Nai loosened the control over his legs a little, allowing him to stand up and walk, though his arms remained immobile, and he could not even twist his shoulders.
Thankfully, the Priest had good balance and, upon discovering his legs could move, stood up without the help of his hands, dragging his heavy feet toward an unremarkable cupboard with double doors.
All the cupboards were styled the same: double doors above and three large drawers below, indicating they were standard issue furniture in the Military Fortress, decorated differently according to the user’s preference.
The cupboard the Priest approached was tied with colorful ribbons.
Ye Nai quietly restored a bit of movement to his hands.
Standing in front of the cupboard, the Priest felt a slight strength return to his numb hands. Knowing the female warrior from the enemy side possessed formidable strength, he dared not play any tricks. He opened the cupboard to reveal six neatly arranged lidded black pottery jars on the double shelves inside.
He took the jar from the bottom right corner, shakily placing it in front of Ye Nai, then turned to the pile of firewood and picked out a thick stick, poured a little oil, and uttered a brief incantation. The firebrand ignited with a whoosh, the flame bursting forth powerfully.
Ye Nai didn’t touch the jar, focusing instead on the Priest’s performance, raising her eyebrows in surprise when he lit the firebrand directly.
The Priest came back with the firebrand, opening the jar.
Ye Nai took the chance to glance inside. It contained half a jar of unknown mixed powder, primarily white with a hint of gold, not finely ground, with visible granules.
The Priest pinched a bit of the powder and sprinkled it onto the flame, which erupted violently before he carried the firebrand towards the city gate.
Ye Nai followed behind.
The Priest walked straight out of the city gate into the thick fog. The moist fog made a hissing sound upon contact with the firebrand, and with a sweep of it by the priest, the fog enveloping him gradually dissipated and did not gather again.
