Endless Leveling Done Right!-Chapter 609: Smoother Than A Baby’s Butt

Alex looked at his right hand, slowly curling it into a fist.

His body felt ten times heavier than usual. Despite the healing potions he had consumed, he felt barely better than before. The attacks he bore from Reverse Alex must have some sort of debuff, affecting his entire body in a deeper level.

The flames that the sword "Everblade" had unleashed might have some special properties that prevented injuries from healing normally.

’Just why did he come to see me?’ Alex thought before glancing at the sleeping dwarf beside him.

Fran was hugging his left arm, sleeping peacefully by his side. Lulu only knocked her unconscious and didn’t harm her at all. That was great and all, but that only made Alex more baffled about their unknown purpose for coming.

Also, according to Dim Dim, the Reverse Dim Dim just played around with it and didn’t take their battle seriously.

This meant that Reverse Dim Dim was stronger than the current Dim Dim.

’Well, Dim Dim is a pacifist, so the Reverse Dim Dim might be a troublemaker,’ Alex mused before sighing in his heart. ’Still, I need to know why they came. Also, how did they cross over? I thought the portal leading to the Reverse Arcana could only be opened in the clubroom.’

He had so many questions, but no answers were in sight.

After the recent attack, Fran decided to stay one more day in the Shadow Forest, moving their departure date to tomorrow.

And if what Francesca and the two other Dryads said were true, they would also accompany Finn back to the academy.

Alex could still remember the young man’s blushing face as Francesca hugged him from behind, while two other beautiful dryads lovingly held his left and right arms.

Truth be told, Alex couldn’t help but give the three Dryads a thumbs up in his heart. Finn had grown much calmer than before, and he had even started greeting Alex properly.

Perhaps Finn thought that Alex had been injured from fighting to protect Fran, so he gave the young man brownie points.

Despite the mishap in the middle, this trip had been worth it overall. Not only did Alex and Fran gain closure on their past, but Finn also took the first step toward accepting Alex as his sister’s boyfriend.

And now that he also had "girlfriends" of his own, the dwarf might also start to open his heart more and even ask Alex for advice in relationships.

While Alex was thinking about what gift he would buy the three Dryads when they returned to the academy, Fran started to stir beside him.

"Good morning," Alex greeted.

"Good morning," Fran replied.

The two shared a good-morning kiss, after which Fran asked how Alex was feeling.

The young man didn’t lie and told Fran that he still felt weak. If he had to run for his life, he’d probably die. On the bright side, he could at least walk by himself.

However, walking was too slow. Summoning magical shields to carry him on their journey back would be ideal, but he also couldn’t muster his power properly.

"Maybe things will be better tomorrow," Fran said. "Just get plenty of rest and recover."

"Okay." Alex nodded.

A few hours later, Fran and Alex visited the graves and put down some offerings, like flowers.

From time to time, the young lady would give side glances to Alex, which made him wonder if there was something on his face.

Little did he know that Fran had just seen new memories about what had happened in Alex’s past.

She saw the years Evangeline and Alex had spent together when they were younger, as well as the fight between the Paragon and the Prism Knight.

Fran also saw Alex frozen in a block of ice, then falling down a cliff.

The young lady then reached out to hug Alex’s waist while looking at his grave, which she had personally cleaned a while ago.

The young man thought Fran merely wanted to have some skinship with him, so he hugged her back.

"Alex," Fran said. "No matter what happens in the future, I’m on your side, okay?"

"Thank you," Alex replied. "I’m also always on your side, Fran."

Fran smiled faintly, but after briefly seeing a "possible" future from what The World had shown her, she instinctively understood why the Reverse Alex and Reverse Dim Dim made their appearance.

Her heart ached a bit after learning what would befall her beloved. Unfortunately, she couldn’t tell him. It was simply impossible.

As much as she wanted to tell him something, "The World" said that it was meant to happen. And if she wanted to help, all she could do was stay by Alex’s side and ensure that he would recover from his inevitable ordeal.

Since their departure was the next day, the Fairies and the Dryads decided to hold a farewell feast for them.

This, of course, included letting Finn drink some fruit juice, which made him start dancing with the other Dryads, making them feel joyful.

"Yaaarrr!" Dim Dim jumped from one place to another while wearing its pirate hat and eye patch.

It was even holding a mini toy sword to complete its pirate cosplay.

Suddenly, Poppy and Dewdrop approached Alex, telling him something they had decided on.

"Can we also come with you back to Frieden Academy?" Poppy asked. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"You want to go with us?" Alex looked a bit surprised, not expecting the two Fairies would want to go back with them to the academy.

"Yes!" Dewdrop said firmly. "Can we?"

"Well, I don’t mind," Alex replied. "But Fran, what do you think? Will the Headmaster allow them to stay in the academy?"

"The Headmaster is very kind," Fran answered. "As long as the Dryads and Fairies promise not to hurt the students, he will allow them to stay with us. I’ll do my best to convince him to let Poppy and Dewdrop stay."

"Really?" Poppy looked incredibly happy after seeing Fran’s affirmation.

"Yes." Fran nodded.

The two Fairies then exchanged high fives with each other, which they had learned from Dim Dim.

The two immediately flew to the little bun that was currently rolling on the ground like a ball and told it that they would be going with them to the academy.

"""Yay!"""

The three exchanged high fives with each other, then held hands and started dancing while moving in a circle.

Alex could only shake his head helplessly. Finn and Dim Dim sure were fun drunks.

"Hey, Alex, when we’re back at the academy, your birthday will be in a few weeks," Fran said. "Is there something you would like as a gift?"

"I already have the best gift I can have in my life," Alex replied before intertwining his hand with Fran. "You are the best gift I can get on my birthday."

Fran blushed before giving Alex the "I’m sure that’s what you’re going to say to all your girls" stare.

Alex coughed lightly. Fran was smart and could pick up his thoughts right away. Sometimes, he wondered if the Gaia Ring also gave Fran some mind reading powers.

Somewhere in the forest...

"This guy’s sweet talk is smoother than a baby’s butt," the Little Devil muttered. "You are the best gift that I can get on my birthday. Hey, what would you do if he said the same thing to you, Himea?"

"Hmm..." the young lady wearing a fox mask pondered for a bit. "I think I’ll feel happy. But I’ll give him a pinch once I find out he said the same thing to other girls beside me."

"A pinch, not a punch?" the little devil laughed. "He’s really getting off easy."

The little devil was very tempted to play a prank on the weakened Alex right now, but he was sure that if Himea caught him, she would nag at him for breaching their contract.

’Hmph! This guy will get his karma one day.’ The little devil smirked knowingly. ’I hope I’ll be there to see him cry a river of tears.’

An evil chuckle escaped the little devil’s lips. "You’ve worked hard, Himea. What kind of reward would you like? Do you want the usual?"

"Sure," Himea replied.

"Very well," the little devil replied. "Let’s make it count. I have the perfect setup. Do you want to hear it?"

"I’m all ears," Himea replied.

She was very curious about what kind of setting the little devil was thinking of. Surely, it would make her reward a memorable experience.
