"...a human? What's that? Like a new creature or something?"

In one of the buildings within a commercial planet, a group of people sat in front of a table having a small discussion. They were gathered here for a reason, but they were a little too early, so their conversation was either full of pleasantries or very casual. freewёbnoνel.com

The question was asked by one of these people. Others also had a curious expression because apparently, the last person they're waiting for was precisely this human.

A Mystic Fae, one that is visibly more noble and more knowledgeable than the rest, nodded and said,

"Well, they've been around for some time, but they only joined the alliance fairly recently. That's what their race is called: humans."

The people around him had varying reactions, but it mostly consisted of initial understanding and slight curiosity.

"They must be clever people then, having been able to enter the scene through food, of all things." The one who said this had a slightly humorous tone.

"Say what you want, but you can't deny their food is awesome." Someone who's definitely a member of the beast race interjected, shamelessly stuffing his mouth full of delicacies offered on the table.

This group of people was actually in the restaurant of these humans. They are in the VIP section, specifically, and to show hospitality and generosity for these important people and possible business partners, they are offered a fine selection of food offered here.

Little did they know that these were but appetizers.

"Well, I certainly can't deny that the food is great." Someone stated, "Though I'm a bit puzzled, because while this was certainly impressive and all, especially considering it's for an unheard race, if I might add, I still don't think that it's enough to garner the attention of the Mystic Faes that they'd even send an Archfae as an envoy to negotiate a possible partnership."

His words caused the atmosphere in the room to turn slightly stiff. This was a very obvious probing, not anything like the vague pleasantries and friendly and casual conversations earlier. This person was practically questioning the presence of the Archfae here, shedding all manner of pretense at once.

Yet despite that, the Archfae barely looked bothered. Still as elegant as the moment he entered these doors, displaying the grace of a true Archfae, he replied:

"Well, that's because we ought to show them our sincerity."

His reply caused curiosity to ripple amongst the crowd. They all looked at him, eagerly waiting for him to shed more light on his meaning.

"The governor of the human race is a person of importance, a VIP of the Mystic Faes. I believe I don't have to explain what that means, right?"

Shocked gasps echoed in the room. The majority of people here looked at the Archfae incredulously; others were skeptical.

Well, how can I not feel this way? A VIP of the Mystic Faes? Just how many cosmic realms did the governor of humans save in his past life to have this kind of honor? What exactly did he do? Why was he given a status that only members of 'The Six' can enjoy?

Yes. This was unprecedented. The VIP status meant that this person could go wherever he pleased within Mystic Fae territory, and they'd be welcomed with open arms. This honor is something that only a handful of people managed to acquire throughout history, and all of these people were members of 'The Six.'

This is why some were skeptical of this claim, because for the Mystic Fae to give this honor to a person coming from an unknown and most likely underdeveloped race was truly unbelievable.

The Archfae truly didn't care whether they believed him or not. He wasn't here to prove them anything, nor is he concerned about what they think of this situation. The fact that he has given them a heads-up about the person they're about to deal with was already him being very generous.

Unlike these ignorant people, this Archfae knew that he had to watch his actions here. He knew exactly what transpired and what led to that family gaining the VIP status of their race. He had the misfortune to be nearby and felt just how horrible that person's aura was.

He knew that, even though he was dealing with that person's son, he had to start off neutral and polite, lest he provoke the ire of that person. That's someone that even their chancellor had to cater to, so the background of this place was far from simple.

The hushed discussions continued for a while before they all sensed a presence.

They felt his aura before they saw him. His presence felt warm, gentle, and comforting, like the first light of dawn gracing the cold land with its warmth.

All of them instinctively felt pacified with his aura, which was definitely astonishing given the fact that the source of the aura probably didn't even mean to do this. It just shows that, while they might be dealing with an unknown person coming from an unknown race, they're far from being simple or a pushover.

Now, they're more inclined to believe that the Archfae truly wasn't lying when he said that this person was a VIP of the Mystic Faes.

The doors of the room parted and revealed the person of importance. And in that moment they saw him; all of them felt dazed.

The human was tall and had long and luscious black hair tied neatly in a ponytail. He's wearing a set of clean white robes with golden linings with divine beasts woven in. His skin was fair and smooth, and he radiated warmth, confidence, and friendliness. And most importantly, his eyes...

Those golden eyes of his looked like a pair of suns embedded in his eye sockets, making it slightly difficult to maintain eye contact with him. Moreover, it felt like his eyes could see through every single secret they're keeping. It felt uncomfortable, yet they're also helpless against it.

This person looked as if an art started moving. He was dazzling, and his aura felt like he was a saint. None of them could've expected that they'd be dealing with this kind of person. Except for the Archfae, of course.

"Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sorry for making you wait," he said in a light and friendly manner. His voice was deep, resonating in the heads of his listeners and causing the ladies to flush slightly.

"My name is Godwyn Stormrider—the 2nd Generation Governor of Solaris Prime, home of the Human Race. I'm also the CEO of the 'Hearth Culinary Industries.' I am honored to have you all here."

With a confident gait, Godwyn walked to the front. The attention was focused on him, obviously, but even more so now that he finally showed himself.

"We humans value time, as we are rather short-lived creatures for the most part. So to not waste our time, instead of going through the traditional and frankly boring way of discussing business matters, allow me to do things differently."

"Ladies and gentlemen, I will have my trusted culinary masters display their humble skills in front of you. I will also let you experience just what we at' Hearth Culinary Industries' can offer through this business partnership."

Godwyn stilled and suddenly let out a humorous chuckle.

"Ah, sorry. I guess I just can't endure this stiff way of talking." He cleared his throat and adopted a more casual body language and tone.

"So basically, I'll have my people show you what culinary arts is. To put it in simple terms, they will cook for you. Once you've tasted our food and feel its effects, it'll be up to you to adjust the contract for this business partnership."

"How closely we'll work together will be up to you. I won't do any further convincing throughout this event. Whatever your offer is by the end of the sampling is what I'll accept. Of course, if any of you don't feel like pursuing a future with us, I will understand it. No hard feelings, I promise. Am I clear so far?"

Godwyn received a bunch of nods from the crowd. Then he asked, "Any concerns or immediate questions?"

There was none, and so things can begin.

"Alright. Without any further ado, please welcome our culinary masters."

The lights within the room dimmed, and the curtains in front parted to reveal a small but clean and neat kitchen. In front of them, five humans wearing clean uniforms bowed at the audience before walking to their stations.

What followed was a rather peaceful and quiet display of a skill that none of them had ever seen before. The way their knives danced as they sliced and processed meat and other ingredients was nothing short of artistic. This was also accompanied by soft and gentle music playing in the background, making the atmosphere more intimate and comfortable.

A few minutes after they began, a mouthwatering scent wafted in the air. As it flowed through the audience, it only served to whet their appetites and make them look forward to the fine dining they're about to experience...
