Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 537 : Breakthrough Success; Ancient Chaos Cosmic Serpent
--
The Void Creatures sensed the void leaking to the other side and didn't hesitate to inspect it. The moment they confirmed that there was a hole in the seal, which could allow him to invade, they unhesitatingly wormed their way in under the urge of their 'mother.'.
Alas, they were very unfortunate. They would've never imagined that what awaited them on the other side was a gathering of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm's best and strongest warriors.
Any and all delusions they entertained about causing destruction and havoc to the realm will only remain as that—a delusion.

Boom!
Making sure that none of these creatures would disturb Jormund's breakthrough, the Cosmic Level experts moved as carefully and as decisively as they could.
However, at the behest of Cedric, they didn't kill the Void Creatures they caught. They just suppressed and gathered them in a single spot.
"Why not kill them?" The Ancient Titan Chancellor asked, puzzled as to why Cedric made this request.
It is known that Void Creatures were immensely harmful to living beings. Moreover, even if they're killed, there are no gains one could get from them. They're simply pests that need to be eradicated mercilessly, so it is understandable that some people found Cedric's decision a bit confusing.
"Jormund has evolved into a Cosmic Serpent," Cedric stated. "Based on what I've learned, Cosmic Serpents could pretty much digest anything, turning even the most harmful substance into nutrients to support their growth."
"I don't know if ordinary Cosmic Serpents could safely devour Void Creatures, but Jormund isn't exactly an ordinary Cosmic Serpent. He has stepped into the Void Refinement Stage at this point. So I think that he can devour them safely. But this needs testing, of course. And since the test subjects willingly presented themselves to us, why refuse?"
His words elicited varying reactions from the crowd, but most of them didn't think that the idea was too outlandish. Cedric's words made sense, and the opportunity to test was right here, so yes, why refuse?
Even the Primal Beast Chancellor and the Wise Dragon Chancellor looked very interested in the idea. But they're going to have to wait until Jormund's evolution is over.
Speaking of Jormund's evolution, it's going swimmingly...
Currently, inside the cocoon, he's like an infant submerged in a tub of amniotic fluid consisting of raw Chaos Energy refined from Void. His consciousness floated in a semi-lucid state, vaguely knowing what's happening to him yet not in control of anything.
Jormund felt comfortable. And even in his semi-lucid state, he knows that he'd never felt this comfortable in his entire life. He subconsciously wished that he could stay in this state forever, but he's also vaguely aware that that's impossible.
Within him, earth-shaking changes were happening at each passing minute. His state of mind, physique, and spirit were all elevating into something that felt foreign yet natural at the same time.
Because Jormund reached the 4th Transition before switching to the Ancient Chaos Path, his realm and potential must be compensated before his evolution ends. This was the reason why Cedric has yet to close the leak on the seal, because he too was estimating how much raw void Jormund needs, and it's obvious that he needs more.
At the third hour after Jormund's evolution, though. Another change happened.
Jormund felt a sense of fullness, and his consciousness stirred awake. As his mind started to turn active, he began to move, but he's still mostly following his instincts at this point.
Crack!
Slowly but surely, he broke out of his cocoon. His movements felt strange to him, like he suddenly had to re-learn how to move his own body. He already had an idea of why he's feeling this way, but it wasn't so bad either. At least, not to the point where he would complain about it.
With another exertion of his force, Jormund completely broke free out of the cocoon, revealing himself to the crowd of witnesses.
Under their watch, Jormund started growing in size tremendously. 10 feet, 100 feet, 1,000 feet...
Before long, the length of Jormund's body was almost rivalling that of the Wise Dragon Chancellor's True Dragon Form size.
Jormund was a full-on serpent with rainbow-colored scales that seemed to reflect the very formation of the cosmos on the surface of each scale. He looked majestic, and he carried a primordial aura that commanded respect and authority from his fellow beastkin. Any beastkin that faces him would think that they were facing their ancestor or the Primal Beast Chancellor.
Hiss!
An exhilarated cry resonated throughout the cosmos. However, the sound could only be heard by a select few, so it didn't cause a realm-wide panic. Honestly, nobody could blame Jormund for reacting this way. Very few people could truly understand what he currently feels.
From now on, he no longer had to worry about bottlenecks. The stone that had been pressing on his chest for thousands of years was finally gone, allowing him to breathe easily and comfortably. This kind of exhilaration was a novel experience, one that Jormund would cherish for the rest of his life.
His celebration didn't take long, though, because he already remembered that he's being watched and he had regained some semblance of shame. With a thought, he started shrinking in size, reverting to his half-humanoid, half-serpent form.
Only this time, he no longer had three pairs of eyes. He only had two eyes after this evolution, but that doesn't mean that his visual acuity took a hit, no, in fact, his eyesight was even better than before. He also looked more youthful and spirited compared to before. Gone was his anxiety and depression; he didn't look like a defeated loser anymore. Instead, he looked like a respectable expert, befitting of his actual status.
Jormund unleashed his Inner World without a word.
The total size was within Cedric's expected range, which was 9,999 miles, corresponding to the estimated size of someone who entered the 4th Stage of Void Refinement. The difference, though, is that Jormund's Inner World was mostly occupied by the neutralized void, with the Chaos Energy only existing at the core.
Well, it's nothing that a brief period of seclusion won't fix. After all, even as Jormund just breathes, the neutralized void was already being converted into Chaos Energy. If he focuses his efforts on it, then the conversion would be even faster.
However, what set Jormund apart from Cedric was the existence of a totem at the center of his Inner World.
That totem was incredibly noticeable. After all, it stood as tall as the Inner World's diameter, standing like a pillar that supported the heavens.
The totem had an image of a serpent coiling all around it, with its head mounted at the top and its tail embedded at the bottom. The serpent looked incredibly lifelike too, as if it's going to move any second now. That serpent looked exactly like Jormund's true form—a Cosmic Serpent.
"Interesting..." Cedric muttered softly. "So the Atavism Totem, instead of residing in its illusory state within one's sea of consciousness, migrates to the Inner World upon switching to the Ancient Chaos Path."
His golden eyes glittered in splendor as he inspected the movement and phenomenon with Jormund's Inner World that the others can't sense.
"The totem serves as the main foundation of the Inner World; it also speeds up the conversion of neutralized void into Chaos Energy. Moreover, because this totem represents your bloodline, it also serves as a medium to not only channel Chaos Energy but also enhance your bloodline power even more."
Jormund was stunned, but he recovered quickly. "As expected of you, Director, nothing escapes your sight. It is indeed as you say."
"HAHAHA! GOOD! Good! Very good!" The Primal Beast Chancellor came over with a flushed face, patting Jormund's shoulders in satisfaction as he fervently gazed at the Atavism Totem.
He's understandably excited because this was a massive success. He could already see just how miraculous this Inner World was, especially with the Atavism Totem serving as its main foundation.
Not only did his people gain another Cosmic Serpent, but they also received a Pioneer that has so much untapped potential. How can he not be happy? How could he not be excited?
Out of nowhere, Jormund's senses buzzed. He sniffed and smelled something weird. Eventually, his eyes landed on the dozens of suppressed Void Creatures, and his predatory instincts flared. His throat suddenly felt parched, and his gaze turned a bit heated.
He didn't miss the way the void creatures seemed to cower at his gaze, and an inexplicable thrill ran down his spine. Of course, the people around him saw this happening too, and their expressions turned a bit strange.
But Jormund couldn't care less. His instincts yelled at him, somewhat rudely. But he didn't dare to move without permission, so he asked Cedric and the Primal Beast Chancellor:
"Can I eat them?"
The chancellors looked at each other with strange faces. Cedric didn't look fazed at all and said:
"Yes, you may. But eat one at a time. Let's test first if you can actually digest them."
With that, Jormund reverted to his true Cosmic Serpent form but controlled his size. Then, he swallowed one void creature, and not even a minute after doing so, his body shook in delight, and he couldn't help but exclaim:
"Delicious!"
