Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 82: Do You Really Think I’m Pretty Handsome?
The deep dark and hollow night was persistent with rain, the murky ground washed clean by the rainwater, erasing the night’s ferocity.
Tang Si wore his training uniform, one hand in his pocket, the other holding an umbrella as he walked towards the field, the wind carrying heavy rain rushing towards him, with a bone-chilling cold.
This unstable rainy night made people feel anxious and confused at heart.
The team leader, in his thirties, was a steady man, watching Tang Si: "Take a flashlight."
Tang Si took the flashlight from him with the hand in his pocket, smiling lightly, "The team leader is always so meticulous."
The team leader didn’t respond, his heart still worried about the missing boy.
The two walked side by side, yet their backs gave off different vibes; both were tall and upright, but Tang Si’s silhouette seemed free and easy.
He was someone who could provide a sense of security. No matter how urgent the situation, his presence alone was enough to reassure people.
Because he always appeared composed and confident.
In reality, someone like him was cold-blooded. He would shoulder his own responsibilities, but once his tasks were done, he would learn to let go of things unrelated to him.
For those in this line of work, empathy couldn’t be too strong. If it was, handling one case would be enough to trap you, making it impossible to excel in the job.
Yet, one couldn’t be completely inhuman and devoid of compassion either, as that would also make one unsuitable for this field.
So in terms of psychological strength, one needed to balance and process it well personally.
The heavy rain fell on his shoulders, and he glanced to see that the path back to the dorm was without cover.
He lowered his gaze, took out his phone, intending to send her a message.
But he received a message from her.
In the rainy night, the man looked at his phone, his steps paused, his deep eyes fixated on the screen, gripping the phone tightly, lips gently pursing and relaxing.
"What’s wrong?" The team leader noticed Tang Si hadn’t caught up, so he turned back to ask.
Tang Si sent out a message and slipped the phone back into his pocket.
"Nothing much." Tang Si lifted his head with a mischievous smile, his tone lazy: "There’s always a little fox trying to seduce me."
It sounded like a joke.
The team leader paid no mind, earnestly reprimanding him: "Be serious, you know what others say about you? No matter how skilled and excellent you are, they’ll still say you’re unreliable."
Tang Si walked with big strides, the corner of his lips curved in a faint smile, his tone indifferent: "In my view, ’unreliable’ describes an effortlessly suave yet lazy handsome guy."
As he finished speaking, the man tilted his head to look at the team leader, noting his somewhat exasperated expression.
He raised an eyebrow at him: "Why are you looking at me like that? Do you really think I’m quite handsome?"
"..." Even a peacock isn’t this narcissistic.
As Song Yi prepared to leave, her phone vibrated. Keeping the phone in the dorm wasn’t safe, so she always kept it on her.
She took it out and looked.
— "There’s an umbrella in the bottom drawer of the second layer of the bedside table."
Seeing such a message from Tang Si, Song Yi instantly broke into a radiant, gentle smile.
She couldn’t help but smile as she headed towards the bedroom with the phone in hand and a light step, muttering to herself: "Seems you do care about me."
She refused to believe there was anyone she couldn’t win over!
Walking into the bedroom, she reached the bedside table, and habitually began pulling open the drawer from the top down, even though Tang Si mentioned the second layer.
So, when Song Yi opened the first drawer and saw the contents, her eyes widened instantly.
