Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 102: We’re Teammates, Not a Couple
Zhan Qinxi’s voice came through.
Warm and appropriate.
Song Yi was carrying her own bag, turned to look at him, "What’s up?"
The woman’s fox-like eyes peeked out from under the hat, slender and charming, gently blinking with a languid allure that unintentionally captivated.
Zhan Qinxi was stunned for a second.
He walked over with a polite smile on his face, "Let me carry the bag for you, save your strength."
As he said this, he reached out to take it, showing gentlemanly demeanor.
Song Yi lightly shifted her bag, discreetly avoiding him, smiling as she looked at him, "I’m not a delicate girl, don’t need your help, we’re teammates, not a couple, there’s no need for such gestures."
"We should aim to win together, not me holding you back."
With these words, she spoke elegantly and appropriately, creating a vast distance between the two, as if separated by tens of thousands of miles.
Zhan Qinxi furrowed his brows slightly.
This woman’s face often carried a smile, seemingly gentle and approachable, yet that smile had a barrier that distanced everything, keeping you out.
Not giving the slightest chance to approach or understand her.
Song Yi, when interacting with people, was like Tang Si, very measured, knowing what to do and say at the right time.
Appropriately neither making others uncomfortable nor allowing them to truly reach their inner depth.
Zhan Qinxi pressed his lips together and then said with a smile, "We’re teammates, why are you being so polite?"
"I just thought, since you’re a girl, I should take care of you a bit."
Song Yi heard and laughed, "Many men aren’t as capable as girls."
After speaking, she continued to follow the path forward.
Before setting off, she saw a missing person notice, a 10-year-old child was lost, it made her feel uneasy.
Tang Si also didn’t answer her call, it showed that it was hung up.
No need to mention how upset she was now, she just wanted to press forward, walk briskly.
As if only by doing so, could she alleviate her mood.
The mountain wind blew in waves, carrying a chilling coolness, Song Yi felt a bit cold, slightly trembling, pursing her lips without speaking.
Zhan Qinxi noticed and wanted to offer her a coat.
Song Yi refused, "Once you keep walking, you’ll warm up."
...
Not sure how much time passed.
Rain fell fine and dense, carried by the cool wind, Song Yi’s eyelashes were wet with rain drops, gently trembled.
She stopped to catch her breath, admittedly, so tired.
The road felt like it had no end, not knowing if they could get out tomorrow.
In front, bushes grew green and lush, and the air was filled with the scent of plants.
And, evidently, there was no path ahead.
Zhan Qinxi pressed his lips, speaking now, "It’s raining, the road ahead is slippery, and there’s no path."
He suggested, "I’ll go look for the path, wait here."
"If we go together, it will take too much time, I’ll be faster alone."
Song Yi thought for a moment, "Then let the cameraman go with you, I’ll wait here."
With the rain, if Zhan Qinxi went alone to find the path, she was really worried something might happen.
"If it really doesn’t work, press the button on the watch for help, let them come in, we can waive our rights," Song Yi said.
Safety comes first.
Zhan Qinxi smiled, "I’ll try to lead us to victory."
...
The soil and air here was very moist, it should be halfway up the mountain.
With the dense rain falling, Song Yi felt extremely uncomfortable.
Zhan Qinxi and the cameraman had gone to find the path, they hadn’t been gone long, yet Song Yi felt she was close to being bitten to death by mosquitoes.
Too many mosquitoes.
She rubbed her arms, pursed her lips, wearing a look of displeasure.
Suddenly, she turned to look at the bushes.
There, something seemed to stir, as if something was coming...
