CHAPTER 39

The following day came and Andromeda got herself ready for the tennis game she had with Liu Xueyi.

As soon as he arrived at her house, he met her waiting patiently outside and they rode off. Within minutes they arrived at one of the biggest tennis courts in the city.

"Hey, you can go change," he informed her, pointing her in the direction. "I had someone buy you a vest. Here." He handed over to her a bag and smiled warmly at her.

"Thanks," she took the bag from him and when their hands accidentally brushed against each other, a warm smile shone on her face. "See you in a jiffy."

"No worries." He watched silently as she disappeared towards the women's changing room while his heart raced in his chest.

For some reason he felt calm, agitated and concerned but being one to worry, he brushed it off and headed towards the men's locker room to have a change.

All the while his mind seemed to wander off every now and then, ignoring the few people inside changing with him.

Flashes of the night he had before in that hotel room kept coming back to his mind.

Although he wished to forget it but not because he hated or was repulsed by it, rather did not want to think of sad events for now.

Inhaled deeply, Liu Xueyi drew his nostrils as he let out a satisfied sigh. Earlier when he handed her the bag and their hands touched, he felt the same spark as he once did when he was with that woman.

However, he was reminded of his search. She was still nowhere to be found and that pricked at his fragile heart.

"Liu Xueyi! If you keep standing there so deep in thoughts, we may have to start the game without you," Tang Yan called out from the entrance. 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝒆𝘸𝚎𝙗𝒏oν𝙚𝘭.𝐜𝒐m

He took one last look at his friend and nodded his head. "Yeah."

He left the locker room and went to join the others outside. "Andromeda," he beckoned to her as he picked up a racket and tennis and walked over to the court.

They spent the next thirty minutes going over lessons and ways of play. To his surprise, she picked up easily and was becoming good for a learner.

At the side, his friends stood watching the scene unfold while making small talk. "Hmm, I must say, Liu Xueyi's babe sure is catching up fast," Rong Bolin noted.

"What do you expect when she is learning from the genius himself, huh?" Chu Fengjin asked, peeling his gaze to look at Rong Bolin.

"Just look at how intently he had been training her. If I did not know better, I would have said he was her personal paid trainer or hubby."

"Pffft, hehehe…" Tang Yan struggled not to smile, then released it with a chuckle as he earned himself questioning gazes from the others. "What?"

"What's so funny?" Chu Fnegjin attacked.

"You are. I mean, you say it as though you are jealous or something," he defended.

"Why wouldn't I be?" He turned his head to the side and slide his hands into his pocket. "He practically ignored us for her."

"So? He is on a date." All of their eyes widened at the new information as their heads turned to the informant.

Xu Fang gave a husky laugh but kept his eyes fixated on the couple ahead. "He looks so happy and for that I am glad."

"Huh, did he tell you this was a date?" Tang Yan inquired, leaning his upper body out, to get a good glimpse of Xu Fang.

"Nope. I just figured. What do you call two people hanging out together or a weekend?" He averted his gaze from Xueyi and Andromeda and waited for their answer.

"Hanging out?" Tang Yan willed himself not to laugh at Rong Bolin's answer but it was hard. In the end, he gave in and chuckled lightly.

"Naughty you. I tell you guys, we would soon be seeing more of her," Xu Fang finalised.

"Then that is good. It isn't a bad thing either," Chu Fengjin chipped in.

"No, it isn't. I hope the two can click things up quickly else, she can be stolen," Xu Fang explained.

They returned their gaze at them, loving the chemistry between the two as they played on.

"Yeah…" All focus them let out at the same time with a sigh.

It was not hard to tell that they liked her person but being who they were, they respected the fact that he got her first.

Liu Xueyi and Andromeda continued playing and later when he felt she was good enough, he changed opponents with his friends, giving them the advantage to play with her and also teach her.

"Ah! Hey guys," they returned his words with a smile and got ready for their turns. Just at that moment, one of his men dressed in a suit walked up to him and whispered something in his ears.

"Huh…" His face contorted into a frown and he stated sharply. "I'm busy."

"Yes, boss." The man bowed to him and left.

"What's the matter?" Xu Fang asked, sitting on the bench beside him.

"Business related. The son of the Sun family happened to be around and wished to greet me."

"I see."

"And we both know, it is for business. I am here to relax and not bring my business life with me. If he wishes to talk, he can make a schedule." He took a bottle of cold water and uncorked it, bringing it to his lips.

Xu Fang watched as he gulped a mouth full, before smiling. "Savage."

"I am being nice. When I come to play, I reserve the area to avoid situations like this. It is also the reason why I refuse my identity as Ye Yuan to be exposed. I need my peace in life."

"I understand you. Now stop being serious and go have fun," Xu Fang encouraged. "Ah!" He let out a satisfied sigh. "From here where to?"

"Swimming." He sharply said, taking another gulp of his water and smiling. His gaze remained focused on Andromeda as she managed to win once, against Tang Yan.

Her lips pulled back, revealing a charming smile. Out of all of them, Liu Xueyi was the best at tennis followed by Tang Yan. Winning over him was like an achievement.

"Hey, I just let you win," they heard Tang Yan say from afar and the other burst out laughing.

Seeing that smile on her face, Liu Xueyi involuntarily smiled himself and felt a still stronger flow of affection for her.

They had barely known for a short while but daily he could see a strong woman and a likeable young girl in need of protection.

She giggled nonstop with the teasing from Tang Yan and her cheeks started to burn. "Fine, let's do it again. Your game."

He watched as Tang Yan smacked the tennis at her and surprisingly, she played back, giving her own smash. The force accompanied by hers was much and fast that his friend actually missed.

"Yay! I did it!" Andromeda squealed.

"She learns fast," Liu Xueyi commented. He did not wait for a reply from Xu Fang and rose to his feet and walked away, leaving Xu Fang behind.

"And you fall fast," Xu Fang couldn't help but smile.
