Empire Building With Infinite Warehouse-Chapter 79: The Global Broadcast
Kyle was on his last legs, holding his ground but just barely as he looked to the sides and saw the supporting hunters bleeding, bruised, and leaning heavily on their broken weapons.
The giant monster stood right in front of them, and even though Chris’s massive golden slash had chopped off its hand a minute ago, the beast was already regenerating rapidly.
The wound bubbled as new grey flesh grew back incredibly fast, and the monster raised its heavy foot, preparing to stomp Kyle straight into the ground.
Then the sky lit up bright orange as three massive fireballs shot down from three different directions, smashing directly into the monster’s giant eye before it could even react.
The explosion was loud and blinding, causing the beast to shriek and stumble backwards while clutching its ruined face.
Kyle blinked the sweat and blood from his eyes and looked up at the rooftops, where he saw figures standing near the edge of the tall buildings.
They were mages wearing clean, high-tier robes, which meant hunters from the upper districts were finally here, and the reinforcements had officially arrived to turn the tide of the battle.
On the other side of the district, things were still a total nightmare because the weak hunters were just trying to run away while the third boss stepped on them, crushing them into the broken road.
Just as the beast raised its arm to smash a group of trapped survivors, two people wearing heavy, full-body plate armour appeared from the dust.
They sneaked up perfectly behind the monster and swung their longswords in sync, slicing deep into the back of its thick legs so the beast roared and dropped to its knees, unable to support its own massive weight.
Then a woman jumped from the roof of a nearby apartment building, falling fast and holding a simple, small blacksmith’s hammer, but right as she got close to the monster, the hammer started glowing with yellow mana and grew instantly until it was the size of a small truck.
She swung her body weight and smashed the massive hammer right into the top of the monster’s head, and since the weapon was incredibly strong, the impact cracked the monster’s skull loud enough to echo down the block, forcing the beast to fall hard onto its back.
Multiple hunters poured out from the side streets and alleys, bringing ropes, spells, and weapons as they provided much-needed backup and started pinning the beasts down from all sides so the creatures could not escape.
Julien was still sitting in the dirt near Chris and Alice, and while his crushed hand throbbed painfully, he could barely feel it because his mind was totally stuck on that floating blue text.
’Earth 1151?’ Julien thought to himself, his stomach twisting into a knot of anxiety.
’What the hell does that mean? Are there over a thousand other planets doing this, and is this whole apocalypse just a tutorial for some sick multiverse game?’
He felt a cold sweat break out on his neck since they had barely survived this one fight, so he had no idea how they were supposed to handle a multiverse tournament against unknown worlds.
He looked over at Chris, noticing the blonde tank leaning heavily against Alice and breathing in shallow gasps.
"Did you see the notification too?" Julien asked, his voice coming out as just a whisper.
Chris slowly nodded his head and muttered, "Yeah, this has never happened before."
Before they could talk about it, a sharp sound echoed over the rubble, sounding exactly like high heels on broken concrete.
A woman walked through the thick dust and stopped right in front of them, sporting bright blonde hair and sharp red eyes.
She looked incredibly wealthy, but the strangest part was her clothes, as she did not have a single piece of armor or a sword and was instead wearing a perfectly tailored business suit.
She looked like a corporate executive walking into a boardroom rather than a survivor in a warzone as she looked around the ruined street and then stepped right up to Julien.
"We finally meet," the woman said, crouching down so she was right at eye level with him.
She smiled, but her red eyes were totally cold as she added, "Looks like Gina still keeps relying on weak people like you instead of clearing the problem herself. I am Isabella Cane, and we are going to have a long chat, Merchant."
Julien’s eyes went wide as he stared at her, recognising her face from the Association files he had studied.
’This is crazy,’ he thought to himself, his mind racing to process the situation.
Isabella was the leader of the Delan Lotus guild, but she did not have any combat skills at all, meaning she was just like him: a merchant class who controlled finances, contracts, and guild markets.
Seeing her out here in the middle of a red gate zone was completely insane, as it meant she had enough money and power to walk through a boss room without fearing a single scratch from the surrounding monsters. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Down the block, the combined guilds were going to work, and as spells flashed in the air and swords kept swinging, the constant, coordinated attacks finally broke the last two monsters.
The beasts dropped to their knees, totally trapped by the high-tier hunters and unable to fight back anymore.
A guy with messy black hair fell out of the sky and landed hard on his boots, coughing up a lungful of dust while leaning heavily on his long spear.
This was Leo, the second-in-charge of the Azure Knight guild, and he panted heavily while wiping sweat off his dirty forehead, saying, "Man, these guys are tough."
A short woman with bright orange hair landed gracefully right beside him, wearing the crest of the Octo guild on her shoulder, and she looked at him while rolling her eyes in annoyance.
"You didn’t even land a hit on him, Leo," she said, crossing her arms defensively.
Leo just grunted and looked around the area, taking in the smashed buildings, flattened cars, and torn roads, but despite the heavy damage, the district was technically still standing, and they had managed to save it from a total wipeout.
Then, everyone stopped talking, and the fighting paused completely as a loud noise rang inside every single person’s head at the same time.
It was sharp and impossible to ignore.
[Ding!]
[Ding!]
The giant, glowing text appeared again, floating high above the broken city so the new arrivals could see it clearly in the dark sky.
[Congratulations, Earth 1151.]
[Earth 1151 has officially entered the contest in last place]
[100 Earths have successfully participated]
[The rest will be terminated]
