Emperor's Domination (Web Novel)-Chapter 6451: Golden Lord
Chapter 6451: Golden Lord
Li Qiye entered Gold Village searching for one of the three souls. He scanned the region before choosing a destination.
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
Despite its size, cultivators and natives filled it up due to their love for gold. Time flowed differently here so eras have passed by. The natives had time to populate and flourish.
He visited a town with an octagonal boundary in a remote corner, not belonging to anyone’s territory including the six great trees. Its freedom made it a popular spot for trading.
It looked just like a prosperous town in the outside world with merchants and their stalls on both sides of the streets.
“Thirty pounds of gold for a monarch weapon!” An expert advertised loudly.
Stronger cultivators could excavate gold from deep underground - an advantage unavailable to the natives.
This would be unheard of in the real world since gold only had value in the mortal world. Cultivators only cared for chaos refined jades and similar items.
“Scroll of an emperor for 30,000 pounds.” A big shot from an imperial lineage willingly advertised his heirloom.
“Buying gold, a better deal for large quantity. Ask for anything including a meeting with an emperor with a golden tree.” One native set up a stall in front of his home.
Of course, the town had protectors and enforcers to maintain orders. Otherwise, robbery and thievery would be unavoidable.
The town was started by three monarchs who came from imperial lineages. Their power and background ensured safety.
“An interesting dream, something as vulgar as gold towers above everything including cultivation.” The skull smiled.
“It’s almost reality.” Li Qiye said.
“My treasure spring is the reason for this. They merely took over my home.” The skull snorted.
The dreams in Gold Village and Paramount grew due to the constant power stemming from the springs. They inched closer and closer to reality with time.
“They were just sitting there, it’s fine to let people dream a little.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Not like I’m stopping it.” The skull complained but couldn’t do anything about it. Not only did he have to start over with cultivation, there were plenty of shackles and taboos.
They came across a dilapidated house decorated with overgrown weeds and spiderwebs, seemingly abandoned.
“This spring of wealth and Gold Village, can’t even have a nice dream.” The skull frowned.
“Creak.” Dust and spiderwebs fell as Li Qiye opened the door.
A sour and moldy scent greeted them, as uninviting as could be. A worn-out bed could be seen with someone on it.
He didn’t move an inch and could be mistaken for a corpse. The blanket covering him almost turned black and hadn’t been washed in who knows how long. Next to the bed were bowls and moldy leftover food.
“Who is it?” The man said feebly
The light through the window revealed him - a middle-aged man identical to the one protected by Left and Right Splendor.
Li Qiye approached with a smile. The man opened his eyes and the room lit up. The pupils resembled gems, a stark contrast to his dirty appearance.
“I’ve seen you.” The man smiled back.
“Yes, just not in reality.” Li Qiye said.
“I’m thirsty and hungry.” He looked lazy, seemingly not wanting to talk without being offered food or drink.
“How long since your last meal?” The skull had no love for him.
“Don’t remember.” He said.
Li Qiye didn’t mind and gave him a hot meal along with a cup of tea.
Not bothering to leave his bed, he placed the noodle bowl on his chest and started eating. Perhaps he wished to have someone to feed him.
“Unbelievable, still alive.” The skull remarked.
“I want to starve to death but can’t in this dream.” The man said.
After a long while, he was finally full and wiped his mouth using the blanket.
“What’s the point of being like this?” The skull asked.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“This whole village is your dream.” Li Qiye looked out the window and said.
“I know.” He replied, clearly finding talking a chore.
“Don’t want to be a golden lord?” Li Qiye asked.
“I thought about it. Splendor told me if my roots are deep enough, I can surpass everything and become the greatest golden lord.” He said.
“Bah.” The skull said: “This is because of a spring I casually dug, the basis of your fantasy.”
“Yes, but even fantasizing is tiring, so I stopped.” He said.
