Chapter 918: Chapter 955: Burial

Mabel Quinn murmured, as she always did when she was at her father’s grave, feeling like there were so many things she wanted to say to him.

"Oh right, Dad, I dug up our Time Box, although it’s been many years, I saw the photo you put in the box back then. It must have been your happiest time." She paused for a moment and continued, "And my wish, I brought it too, Dad, you can take a look."

Saying so, she took out the envelope containing her wish from the Time Box and glanced at Kyle Kinston, saying, "Kyle, I just... want to burn it for Dad to see, after all, it’s something Dad and I agreed upon back then."

She feared he might overthink because her wish back then was for Daniel Harris’s eyesight to be restored.

He smiled faintly, understandingly saying, "I know, don’t worry, I won’t overthink it."

It was only then that she brought the envelope close to the candle flame, and the letter was quickly engulfed by the fire.

Suddenly, Mabel Quinn felt a bit lighter, as if another matter was resolved.

She then took out Clover’s photo and the badge, saying to Kyle Kinston, "Kyle, can you come with me to my old place later? I want to bury another box at the place where we dug out the Time Box last time, and put these two things together."

He looked at her thoughtfully and said, "Okay."

She placed the photo and badge again in front of her father’s tombstone, thinking perhaps her father would want to see them too.

Time was passing by, and Mabel Quinn shared many memories between her and her father with Kyle, memories she truly wanted to cherish for a lifetime.

As she spoke, tears uncontrollably welled up in her eyes. If it hadn’t been for her father saving her back then, he would still be alive, and she could dutifully care for him, letting him enjoy his later years.

A gentle hand soothed her cheek, wiping away her tears, "Alright, don’t cry. Your father wouldn’t want to see you this way; he would want you to be happy." Kyle Kinston said, and although she hadn’t mentioned anything, her expression revealed enough for him to guess her thoughts.

"Hmm." Mabel Quinn sniffled, trying hard to stop her tears.

As they were leaving, Kyle Kinston swore to the tombstone, "Uncle, I will treat Mabel well my entire life. Your daughter, whom you’ve protected, will now be protected by me. I will regard her as my life! I will share my life with her!"

Mabel Quinn’s eyes were still wet, but the corners of her lips gently lifted.

Dad, did you hear that? This man will certainly treat me very well.

Dad, you can rest assured; I will be very happy in this life.

Her life was given by her father. He found her, raised her, saved her, and without him, she wouldn’t know how many times she might have died.

Upon leaving the cemetery, Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn arrived at her old neighborhood. Mabel Quinn came to the place where she previously dug out the Time Box and took out a new box, placing the badge and photo inside. Then she used a small shovel to dig the soil again and buried the box.
