Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 911 - 948: Fever Subsides
Alright, to accommodate his injury, she proactively placed her face in front of him, then closed her eyes, waiting for his kiss.
On her lips, a warm feeling gently descended, like a delicate kiss, but it made her feel sacred. Because for him, he was kissing her with genuine seriousness.
Once, and then again, she couldn’t count how many times he had kissed her, but seeing how happy he looked, she felt it was worth it.
Once the kissing was over, Mabel Quinn suddenly remembered that she didn’t know how long she’d been asleep. One look at the time showed it was already four in the morning.
"You... haven’t slept at all?" she asked.
"Mm, sister fell asleep, so I stayed beside her," he replied.
"Aren’t you sleepy?" she asked.
"Sleepy," he admitted honestly, "but I’m afraid if I fall asleep, when I wake up, I won’t see you, sister."
Mabel Quinn fell silent. He only appeared when Kyle was feverish, but when would it happen again? That was uncertain.
Besides, if one day Kyle’s illness were cured, then perhaps this version of him with the mind of a five or six-year-old would no longer exist.
"Sleep now, I’ll be here with you," she said while holding the hand on his uninjured shoulder, "See, I won’t leave. I’ll be by your side, and when you wake up, you’ll still see me."
He looked at her, then at their clasped hands, finally seeming reassured. He obediently lay down, closed his eyes, and shortly thereafter, seemed to fall asleep.
Mabel Quinn let out a gentle sigh, lifting her other hand to softly touch Kyle Kinston’s forehead, feeling the temperature there. It had already subsided a bit; perhaps by the time he opened his eyes again, he would have returned to normal.
Maybe because she had already slept for several hours earlier, Mabel Quinn didn’t feel sleepy at the moment, watching Kyle Kinston lying on the sickbed.
Time kept passing, and during this period, the doctor came by twice to check on Kyle Kinston’s condition. Only each time Mabel Quinn wanted to give way, she found he was still holding her hand tightly, and if she truly tried to pull away, it would probably wake him up.
Fortunately, the doctor was understanding and allowed Mabel Quinn to stay as she was, checking the data on the instruments and informing her that Kyle Kinston’s condition was all normal.
The nurse also took Kyle Kinston’s temperature: 36.9, back to normal range, so... his fever had indeed subsided.
When Mabel Quinn watched the slightly fluttering eyelashes of the person sleeping on the sickbed, then saw him open his eyes, and when her gaze met those dark pupils, she knew it was the Kyle she was familiar with. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"You’re awake? How are you feeling?" Mabel Quinn asked.
Kyle Kinston furrowed his brows slightly, "Did Caleb tell you?" Otherwise, she had no reason to appear here under the circumstances.
"Yes," Mabel nodded slightly, then said, "You’re injured, didn’t you consider that hiding it from me would upset me even more if I found out one day?"
"I just didn’t want you to worry," Kyle Kinston said, "Besides, this injury isn’t serious for me. It will be fine in no time."
