Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 909 - 946: Feeding
Mabel Quinn suddenly found it amusing yet perplexing, but her hand gently caressed his head, stroking it softly.
His expression seemed somewhat happy, also a bit comfortable. At this moment, Mabel Quinn felt he resembled a lazy cat.
"Is your shoulder still hurting?" she asked.
He shook his head, "It’s okay, I can bear it. Even when it hurt more in the past, I was able to endure it." He seemed to imply that this pain was negligible.
Yet Mabel Quinn sensed from his words that there had been even more painful times. What kind of pain was that? His memory, presumably, only goes back to when he was 5 or 6 years old. At such a young age, had he already experienced that kind of "greater pain"?
Whenever she learned about aspects related to his childhood from his mouth, she felt discontent towards his mother, even resentful. Why treat a child like that? No matter how many grievances exist between adults, children should always be innocent. Even if she didn’t truly want to have this child, even if she couldn’t love this child, abuse should not occur.
"If it hurts, it’s okay to cry out loud. There’s no need to always endure it silently," she said. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"But I am a boy; boys shouldn’t cry out in pain," he said earnestly. That expression, serious and solemn, somewhat resembled the usual demeanor of Kyle Kinston.
However, his expression soon turned bashful. He originally wanted to raise his hand to hug Mabel Quinn, but as soon as he lifted his arm, it tugged at his injured shoulder, and immediately, his face scrunched up in pain.
"What’s wrong? Don’t move your arm; it will strain the wound. If you need something, just tell me," Mabel Quinn said quickly.
He said somewhat plaintively, "I just wanted to hug you, sister."
Mabel Quinn was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "You can’t hug me now. You’ll have to wait until you’re healed before you can."
Yet the next time he appears, who knows when that will be.
"How about I keep you company watching animation?" Mabel Quinn suggested.
Kyle Kinston nodded, so Mabel Quinn turned on the TV, selected a children’s animation, and sat with him to watch.
Gurgle, his stomach made a noise, then he looked at her somewhat embarrassed.
Only then did she realize, he probably hadn’t eaten much for quite a while, so she pressed the bell to ask the nurse to prepare some food.
Soon, the nurse brought a plate of food with porridge as the staple dish. Mabel Quinn noticed it seemed quite sumptuous, and it must have been prepared in advance; otherwise, it wouldn’t have come so quickly.
Mabel Quinn took the initiative to assume responsibility for feeding.
Kyle Kinston cooperated well with her feeding actions. Each time she moved the spoon to his lips, he opened his mouth and swallowed the porridge.
And she made sure to blow on it each time to cool it down, so it wouldn’t burn him.
Not until most of the porridge and several side dishes were eaten did he say he was full.
The nurse came in to tidy up, and soon only the two of them were left in the room again.
"I like it when sister stays with me like this," he suddenly said. "When I grow up, I’ll marry sister and make her my bride. Sister, would you be willing?"
Huh?
Mabel Quinn blinked and met Kyle Kinston’s dark eyes, but unlike his usual self, his eyes were filled with childlike innocence and expectation, so eagerly anticipating.
