Chapter 883: Chapter 919: He’ll Never Get the Chance in This Life

All kinds of voices were swirling around, and more and more people were gathering together. Many were holding up their phones, aiming at her and recording.

"Stop filming, stop filming..." Indigo Quigley shouted, trying hard to push those people away and escape, but it was to no avail. Her hat and sunglasses were knocked off, and amidst the chaos, there were opportunistic hands groping her.

In the end, it was the police who intervened and finally calmed the storm, and Indigo Quigley made it to the gossip pages once again.

Alice Conley felt no sympathy for Indigo Quigley’s situation. If Dorian Howards hadn’t stepped in for her, maybe Indigo would still be flaunting around the Studio today; perhaps she wouldn’t even consider that collision to be a big deal. Worse yet, if the baby hadn’t been saved, Indigo might have sneered at her.

Even Indigo’s so-called apology was laughably insincere. Perhaps she believed that as long as she apologized, others had to accept it and forgive her.

In the evening, Alice Conley talked to Dorian Howards about the incident, and Dorian said, "Don’t pay her any mind. If she dares approach you again, I’ll make sure she never dares come near you." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

She trusted his words.

"How are you feeling today? Any nausea?" Dorian inquired, concerned about Alice Conley’s health.

"I’m feeling good. I went to work today and felt alright." Alice Conley replied, "I didn’t have any nausea today; maybe the morning sickness phase is over."

"If you’re feeling tired, don’t go to work. Stay home and rest," Dorian suggested.

Alice Conley chuckled, "How tired can I possibly be? You don’t know, everyone at the Studio knows you want to marry me, and they’re treating me like a panda. If I’m thirsty, I don’t even need to go to the pantry myself; someone will pour water for me."

But Dorian looked quite pleased after hearing this, and even said he would give the Studio staff a raise, which left Alice Conley speechless.

In the middle of their conversation, Alice Conley received a text message on her phone. She glanced at it and saw it was from Daxton, saying he had just landed and didn’t know if she was asleep yet, so he sent a text. He also asked when she’d be free to grab a meal together.

Daxton had been out of the country for a work trip recently, so he wasn’t aware of what had happened to Alice Conley.

Looking at the text, Alice Conley couldn’t help but smile, but when she was about to reply, her cheeks were suddenly pinched by two big hands, forcing her to look up into Dorian Howards’ face.

"What are you doing? Let go of my hands, I’m trying to reply to a text!" Alice Conley quickly said.

"Who is this Daxton? Why are you smiling and texting him?" Dorian Howards asked, feeling upset.

Was she smiling? Alice Conley blinked and then said, "Daxton is... um, that tall and thin guy you saw at the Civil Affairs Bureau last time, who looks quite good."

Dorian Howards gritted his teeth, "Just mentioning the Civil Affairs Bureau is enough. You don’t need to add ’tall and thin’ and ’looks good’ as descriptors."

Alice Conley flushed, "I was just afraid you wouldn’t remember!"

"My memory is pretty good. How long ago was this? How could I forget?" he said. "In any case, you’re already going to marry me. Reject this kind of blind date, and as for him wanting to marry you, he shouldn’t even think about it in this lifetime!"
