Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 855 - 891: Dilemma
The car stopped in front of a Sichuan restaurant. Dorian Howards and Alice Conley went inside, and Alice ordered the dishes, all spicy, and then glanced at Dorian, "If you can’t handle it, just order a few dishes without spice for yourself."
"It’s fine, you order. Whatever you can eat, I can eat too," Dorian smiled.
Alice shrugged, finished ordering, and handed the menu to the waiter.
Before long, the dishes were served, and Alice was eating happily, beads of sweat covering her forehead. Dorian reached across the table with a tissue to wipe the sweat from Alice’s forehead.
She was startled and turned her head to look at him.
He gave a slight smile, "Take it slow, no one’s rushing you. If it’s not enough, we can order more."
"What about you? You don’t seem to have eaten much," she said, "Is it too spicy?"
"Not really," he said, taking a bite voluntarily, "I genuinely didn’t know you could eat so much spicy food."
"I didn’t expect it either. You wouldn’t know, but lately, I’ve been craving spicy food so much. My parents were dumbfounded watching me add chili sauce to everything," Alice laughed at the exaggerated expressions of her parents at home.
Looking at her smile, he became a little entranced.
How long had it been since she’d smiled so naturally in front of him? Watching her smile like that, he realized how much he missed it, how much he wished he could always see her smile, and how much he wished they could spend their lives together forever.
"Alice, let’s get married. I’ve thought it through. I believe I won’t regret making this decision today."
Alice was stunned, the piece of meat she had just picked up fell onto the table, "Um... marriage... hahaha... Don’t you think I don’t really love you? Getting married like this doesn’t seem right either. Come on, eat before the food gets cold."
She laughed awkwardly and buried her head back into eating. He knew that every time he mentioned marriage, it was like a temptation for her. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"What if I believe you love me?" he said, "then would you be willing to marry me?"
"What?" Her face was full of bewilderment, seriously doubting her ears, "What did you say?"
"I said, if I am willing to believe it. I believe you love me, believe you’re not marrying me just for the child. Alice, would that be okay?" In recent days, he had thought a lot, yet one thing was certain—he still couldn’t bear losing her.
He had tried forgetting this relationship with her, but he simply couldn’t!
When he didn’t see her, he desperately wanted to; and when he did, he didn’t know what to do, even unable to tolerate her being with another man.
"Are you really willing to believe it?" she asked, surprised.
"Yes, I believe it, I’m willing to believe it. Whatever you say, I’ll believe. Whether or not you’ve ever loved me, I don’t want to let you go!" he said.
The joy in her eyes turned into disappointment. Actually... he didn’t really believe it, did he? It’s just... he probably truly doesn’t want to lose her, which is why he said those things.
He must really love her, and she... She knew very well that in her heart, there was only him.
But now, in this situation, should she really marry him? Clearly, she loved him, and he loved her too, yet he still refused to believe she loved him.
