Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 205 - 210: Want Money
Chapter 205: Chapter 210: Want Money
"I’m just here to pick up some things," Mabel Quinn said, knowing full well that her mother wouldn’t treat her kindly. Yet, hearing her mother’s words still pierced her heart.
"You want to take something? Hmph, haven’t you already latched onto Mr. Kinston? What else do you need to come back for? Let me tell you, I would rather burn and destroy your things than give them to you!" Evelina retorted angrily. Thinking of her daughter living with Mr. Kinston in such a grand mansion, riding in luxury cars, while she and her son were still cramped in this small house—Mabel wouldn’t even spare a word to help them. Evelina felt like she’d raised an ungrateful child.
At that moment, Evelina wished she could vent all her frustration onto her daughter. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Mabel’s expression changed dramatically. Among her belongings were many memories she shared with her father. If her mother really burned them, then even those memories with her father would be gone!
"Mom, have you ever truly regarded me as your daughter? I don’t expect you to treat me as well as you treat my brother, but why is it that when my brother does something like this to me, you show no sympathy, only continuous scolding? Is it really just because he’s a son and I’m just a daughter?" Mabel asked.
Or perhaps this question was one she’d already asked herself too many times growing up.
But Evelina’s face showed nothing but impatience. "Don’t talk to me about this nonsense. In any case, I’ll burn your things. You won’t get a single item back!" With that, Evelina moved to shut the door.
Mabel reached her hand into the iron gate and stopped the closing wooden door. "What would it take for you to give my things back to me?"
"Give them back to you? Sure, give me ten million, and I’ll let you take your things!" Evelina demanded exorbitantly. "Aren’t you in good with that CEO? Go ask him, he has money to give you ten million!"
As Mabel heard the sound of the door closing, she felt the last thread of attachment to this home completely disappear from her heart.
Perhaps since her father’s death, this house had ceased to be her home.
Ten million, where else could she find such an amount besides going to Kyle Kinston?!
And would Kyle be willing to give her this ten million? Even if she worked her whole life, she might not earn that much!
Yet, how could she give up those precious memories with her father?
Mabel stood at the familiar doorstep, her body feeling waves of coldness. It was June, so why did she feel so cold, shivering from the chill?
She made a call to Kyle Kinston, and soon, that cool yet slightly gentle voice came through the phone, "What’s up?" After all, she rarely called him on her own initiative.
"Yes," she responded briefly, "Could you...lend me ten million? But, I don’t know when I can..."
"Sure." Before she could finish, he agreed without asking for any reason, just inquired, "Where are you now?"
"At my front door," she replied.
"Wait for me." With those two simple words, he ended the call.
Yet, just those two words seemed to give her strength. Mabel squatted at her own doorstep, quietly waiting like that.
