Educated Youth in the Countryside: She is the Village's Embroidery Queen!-Chapter 395: I Could Just Quit School
Yi Chichi turned around and left.
Wen’s mother, "???"
What does that mean?
"Chichi, stop right there, why are you running?"
"Mom, I really need to pee, I’ll come back later."
Wen’s mother twitched at the corner of her mouth, this kid really knows how to bluff.
"Remember to pick up your Uncle Kang later for dinner."
"Got it!"
Yi Chichi went back to the house, sat in front of the embroidery frame, and threaded the needle to start working.
Acting all carefree and carefree.
Peeing urgently was impossible; the main thing was that having kids wasn’t urgent.
So, it’s better to work and make money.
At four o’clock in the afternoon, Qin Jiu came back from the Youth Corps Courtyard after attending a small class, didn’t even have time to take off his backpack, and ran to the workshop to tell Yi Chichi, "Aunt, Teacher Wang is going to be a mom!"
Yi Chichi’s hand shook, and the thread meant for the needle hole went astray.
She stopped her hand, turned her head to look at Qin Jiu, "How do you know?"
"Teacher Wang threw up during class, it was a mess. Ms. Juanzi and the others took her to see Grandpa Yaozi, and when they came back, they told us that Teacher Wang is going to be a mom. She won’t be teaching us starting tomorrow due to health reasons, and her classes will be taken over by Teacher Bai."
Yi Chichi understood, Wang Nan’s pregnancy reaction was too severe.
She went "oh", got up, packed some things and prepared to visit Wang Nan.
But she didn’t make it out the door, as Wen’s mother asked her to call Uncle Kang back for dinner.
When Yi Chichi went out, she was carrying a food box wrapped tightly in a cotton quilt.
In the food box were pig tripe soup and intestines, along with a portion of sweet and sour pork.
The portions were large, and with the weight of the food box and the cotton quilt, by the time Yi Chichi delivered it to her aunt and uncle’s place, her arms were so sore she could barely lift them.
"Eat it while it’s hot!"
Yi Chichi placed the food box and quilt on the table as she came in, gave a quick greeting, and was about to leave.
Mrs. Song was puzzled, "Why are you in such a rush?"
Before, when she brought food, she would stay and chat with them.
Today, she barely put the things down before wanting to run.
Yi Chichi gave a brief explanation, and everyone understood, indeed it was urgent.
"Alright then, go call them quickly, can’t keep the guests waiting."
"Okay, grandpa, I’ll be off, I’ll come get the food box tomorrow."
Saying that, Yi Chichi dashed out and headed straight for the brigade office, realizing everyone was there.
Except, for some reason, the brigade leader had a few scratch marks on his face.
He also had a grumpy, I’m-really-upset look on his face.
Yi Chichi’s curiosity was piqued, so she eagerly went over to him, pulled out a cigarette from her pocket and handed it over, "Uncle, did you get into a fight with aunt and get kicked out?"
"Pffft hahaha..."
Before she finished speaking, the brigade leader hadn’t reacted yet, but Kang Youxin and the others burst out laughing.
"What fight, he was scratched by a cat."
The secretary explained while laughing, and the brigade leader rolled his eyes, "You’ll never shut up, you really don’t have to speak."
That was definitely not okay, at least the secretary wasn’t planning on keeping quiet.
He said to Yi Chichi, "Your brigade leader uncle was teasing Da Li all cheekily, and when Da Li got annoyed, he swiped back with his paw, and that’s how he got scratched."
Yi Chichi had a different focus, "Da Li’s here?"
"He wandered over earlier."
She nodded, Da Li was really wild, couldn’t even stay home in the cold, had to be out roaming.
Only willing to go back once he had enough fun, way wilder than Big Orange.
"You gave me a cigarette without a lighter?"
The brigade leader grumbled at her, Yi Chichi twitched the corner of her mouth, "I don’t smoke, where would I get a lighter from."
"If you don’t smoke, why do you carry cigarettes with you?"
"That’s for you guys!"
With that, she tossed the cigarettes onto the table, "You distribute them yourselves, I’m taking Uncle Kang back home for dinner now."
"Alright, remember to send Mr. Kang to my house after you eat, or I’ll worry he gets lost."
Kang Youxin wanted to say he wasn’t that dumb, but remembering his stuttering speech issue, he swallowed back his words.
Choosing to nod along with Yi Chichi.
And so, uncle and niece went home for dinner.
Seeing the lavish spread on the dinner table, he thought Wen’s mother had made it specially for him.
Moved to tears, he thought to himself that his elder sister really was his elder sister, she was so good to him.
Wen’s mother saw his expression and said irritably, "Don’t get moved for nothing, we’d eat like this even if you weren’t here."
Yi Chichi nodded in agreement, Qin Jiu enthusiastically invited him to sit down and eat while it was hot.
Even Big Orange, who got his own bowl of pig tripe soup and a few pieces of water-boiled intestines, joined in with a meow.
Instantly, Kang Youxin’s emotions froze on his face.
Then, he remembered something, looked at Qin Jiu and then at Yi Chichi, his face turned puzzled.
Is this his sister’s grandson?
But isn’t the age difference between the grandson and daughter-in-law too big?
His expression was so obvious, it was hard for Yi Chichi to ignore it.
She helplessly filled a bowl of soup and placed it in front of him, "Uncle stop your wild ideas, this is my nephew, not my son."
She couldn’t possibly have a son this big.
Kang Youxin sat down with a sheepish grin to eat, Wen’s mother routinely asked Qin Jiu about his studies.
Usually saying pretty well, today he sighed and gave a different answer.
"I think I could skip this school."
This startled the two adults and Kang Youxin into giving him their full attention.
What do you mean by you could skip this school?
After asking, it turned out he thought attending the small class was a waste of time.
Wen’s mother, "??? The teacher’s not good?"
"Not really, it’s mainly that the lessons follow the learning pace of Dun Dun and the others, but my pace is different from theirs, I’ve already mastered what the teacher is teaching, and my basics are strong."
Saying that, he looked at Yi Chichi, "Aunt, could you get me some higher-grade textbooks?"
That’s possible, but, "Which grade do you want?"
"I think middle and high school would be fine."
Kang Youxin swallowed, wanting to ask how old he was.
Seeing Yi Chichi and his sister with calm expressions as if it were only natural, he silently drank a mouthful of soup.
His sister’s family was a bit unusual, he better keep his mouth shut.
So as not to say something wrong and anger his sister and get hit.
"Actually, no need to search, Teacher Wang and the others have them, I’ll borrow them for you tomorrow!"
Qin Jiu responded with an "oh," and then worriedly asked, "Would Teacher Wang lend them?"
"Definitely."
Yi Chichi was confident about this, after all, they had a good relationship.
Plus, she’s borrowing, which means they’ll be returned.
So, it’s impossible not to lend.
And that’s exactly what happened, the next day when Yi Chichi went to find Wang Nan and explained the situation, Wang Nan took out the textbooks.
"I don’t have middle school ones, you’ll need another way for that."
Yi Chichi acknowledged, took the textbooks, and checked them carefully, found them to be in great condition, with neat and clear notes on the pages, and the paper was clean.
"I’ll have him copy them, and return them once he’s done."
Wang Nan looked puzzled, "Copy the whole set of textbooks?"
Isn’t that too big a task?
Can Qin Jiu handle it?
