Chapter 191 - The Four Kings
[Skill: Fireball (F) activated.]
BOOM!
A blazing fireball slammed into the charging Lizardman warrior’s face. Jhin twisted his body mid-air, narrowly dodging a thrusting spear. In the same motion, he drew out a thorn and slashed upward, carving open the creature’s exposed throat.
KIIIIEEK...!
The beast fell with a dying shriek.
Before he had time to breathe, another Lizardman lunged from behind.
Jhin ducked low, flowed into the opening, and drove the thorn deep into its elongated snout — a seamless string of movement.
He’d lost count of how many he’d taken down already.
[Skill: Phantom Step (F) activated.]
With light, feathered footwork, Jhin danced between spear points and blades, spun in the air, and clenched his fist.
[Skill: power Focus (E) activated.]
BOOOOM!
One more Lizardman down.
Jhin exhaled slowly and stepped beside Adonis, who was locked in fierce melee.
"You okay?"
"...Y-Yes! I’m holding on... nngh... barely!"
Despite the chaos, the Arc players were holding their ground far better than expected.
Maybe it was the result of their week-long quest spree — all that grinding was paying off.
With skills and tactical science on their side, they were shining even on this bloodied battlefield.
Even with slightly lower levels, the players’ diverse abilities injected unpredictability into the combat — turning the tide in unexpected ways.
"Huff... huff...!"
"Damn it, they just keep coming!"
But the longer the battle dragged on, the duller their strikes became, and the injuries piled up.
A drawn-out battle would be fatal.
"Hang in there! The chieftain is preparing something big!"
"...Understood!"
Encouraging the players, Jhin spotted another monstrous Lizardman emerging — another Company-touched variant.
Again?
All across the field, mutated beasts — creations of the Company — added a layer of danger that turned skirmishes into chaos.
"Will they ever stop showing up?! Seriously...!"
Jhin leapt onto the beast’s tail and scaled its back in a single bound. His eyes gleamed with golden light as he raised his hand.
Its weak point — like the fake Giant Horn Lizard — was beneath the abdomen, but there was no need to crawl under it.
I don’t need to reach it. I just need to blow it up.
Flames churned in his fist, a swelling fireball glowing hotter with every heartbeat.
[Combo Skill: Fire Explosion (F) activated.]
He brought the burning fist crashing down — detonating a massive explosion across the Lizardman’s abdomen.
The monster burst like a rotted gourd — viscera flung in every direction.
Blood rained across the field.
Then — it happened.
The Horn warriors suddenly surged forward, slicing through the chaos with fresh momentum.
It was the signal they’d been waiting for.
"HAAAAAAH!!"
With a roar that seemed to split the sky, Atlas unleashed a torrent of power.
Just watching the flow made Jhin’s heart drop.
He’s going to level the whole area...
That incredible force channeled into his spear, spiraling like a hurricane as he spun it once.
Then—
KRAKAKAKAKAAAAANG!!
The spear launched forward like a divine thunderbolt.
So that’s what a real spear looks like...
Jhin remembered the time when Caleb had summoned tidal waves with his weapon — how impressive it had been.
But compared to this?
Child’s play.
This wasn’t a wave.
This was a tsunami.
Everything in the spear’s path — Lizardmen, stone, tree — was shredded to pieces, scattered like leaves in a storm.
With a thunderous boom, the spear slammed into the far side of the lake.
The impact was so immense that the surrounding waters were blown away — like the lake had been split open.
Atlas calmly observed as the lake slowly refilled around the crater where his spear had landed.
"Warriors..."
At his words, the Horn Tribe warriors instantly shifted into formation.
The Lizardmen, rattled by the blast, had no time to regroup.
"Give your lives!"
"UWAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
Led by Atlas, the warriors surged forward like a living tidal wave.
The Arc players followed without hesitation, sprinting through the path the spear had carved.
Though the Lizardmen attempted to regroup, it wasn’t a complete blockade anymore — they broke through.
And finally, they reached the coliseum’s outer boundary.
[Second Condition Unlocked.]
Possess the qualities of a king.
Among current quest participants, four individuals meet all conditions.
Above Atlas’s head, a red star lit up — unsurprising, considering his status as the Horn Tribe’s chief.
What was surprising... was the number.
Four?
Jhin narrowed his eyes and glanced around.
Sure enough, there was a red star hovering over his own head.
So the Goblin King title counts...
That made two of the candidates obvious: himself and Atlas.
The third? Most likely the Lizard King.
But who’s the fourth?
He didn’t have long to wonder.
At that moment, another message appeared — as if responding directly to his thoughts.
[Third Condition Unlocked.]
Possess the weapon of a king.
Among current quest participants, four individuals meet all conditions.
This time, the red star glowed over Atlas’s reclaimed spear... and over Jhin’s clenched fists.
Right. His gauntlets — the ones he obtained by killing the Wilow King — qualified as a king’s weapon.
That means...
Jhin had passed all conditions.
He could enter the coliseum.
Inside the arena, a group of warriors stood at the ready — formation tight, weapons gleaming.
The Lizard King’s troops.
And there, among them...
Jhin saw a face he hadn’t expected.
He couldn’t help but scoff.
"...You’ve got to be kidding me."
Beside the Lizard King, with a red star glowing above his head and a black dagger pulsing in his hand, stood one more king.
The fourth.
Jhin muttered the name under his breath.
"Nazoral."
Meanwhile—
Millie raced down the jungle path and peered into the darkness of a stone cavern.
This was it — the Lizardman prison.
Beside her, Karin’s mouth fell open in shock.
"You... what are you people?"
"...?"
"How... how did just the two of you wipe out an entire Lizardman battalion?!"
Chapter 192 - The Final Condition
At Karin’s question, Millie simply shrugged and walked toward the cave.
There was no need to explain that they had succeeded simply because they were stronger.
Though truth be told, she herself was still slightly shocked.
Tempah.
She’d known he was strong.
She hadn’t expected this strong.
A monster in human skin.
Millie pushed the thoughts aside and swept her gaze across the interior of the cave. Karin, too, seemed to shake off her lingering disbelief and quietly muttered:
"That’s blood."
They moved through the darkness, following the winding stone path. The stench of blood thickened the deeper they went, stabbing at their noses like knives.
It didn’t take long before they came across the first signs — tools, some rusted, others bloodied, scattered across one side of the cave.
Torture instruments.
"...What the hell were they doing here?" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Ugh..."
Karin gagged behind her. Millie, meanwhile, stepped closer to examine what looked like a dismembered Lizardman corpse displayed grotesquely against a wall.
Its body was riddled with blue bruises, its limbs torn and discarded like garbage.
Tempah casually picked up a paper cup from a nearby table.
"Someone was definitely here."
"...And from New Capital, no less."
No one would randomly tear open a packet of instant coffee inside a dungeon. That trash could only mean one thing:
A human had been living here. For a while.
Only one group came to mind.
"The Company’s work, again."
Clicking her tongue, Millie shook her head and pressed on.
"Let’s keep moving. I hear something ahead."
With [Burn Blood] constantly active, her physical senses were enhanced — even distant sounds, faint and low, rang clear to her ears.
[Skill: Sound Suppression (F) activated.]
A silent gunshot rang out — a crimson power bullet pierced a Lizardman’s brow.
The creature collapsed without so much as a cry.
Crunch!
Another soldier, turning a blind corner, caught a spinning heel to the temple from Tempah and dropped like a stone.
"It splits here."
"...Which way?"
"I’ll take the right."
Millie nodded. From what she’d seen so far, Tempah’s combat ability was beyond worrying about.
"Contact me if you find anything."
"Got it."
"Karin, you’re with me."
Moving down the left path, Millie soon came across a barred cell — inside, people were piled like sacks of grain.
Unmoving. Deathly still.
"...I think they’re alive."
She easily broke the bars and stepped inside, placing a hand beneath one of their noses.
Shallow breaths.
Alive — just barely.
And then—
"Millie! Break that device, now!"
Karin had rushed in and pointed at a strange machine churning mist along the far wall.
CRACK!
Without hesitation,Millie fired a power bullet — the device shattered, spilling green fluid across the floor.
Karin immediately pulled out several herbs and began chewing.
"It’s Stern’s Leaf. The fumes induce deep sleep."
"...I see."
"Please, you should take this too. The smoke from burning Stern’s Leaf can knock you out in under ten minutes."
But Millie declined with a shake of the head.
She didn’t need it.
[Exclusive Gear: "Revolver of power Bullets" — Skill: Burn Blood is active.]
[Stern’s Leaf’s sleep effect is suppressed.]
A technique that burned her own blood — any foreign agent, like sleep-inducing toxins, were incinerated with it.
Millie turned to the unconscious players and asked:
"Can that leaf wake them up?"
"Let me try."
Karin crushed the herbs into a paste. Thankfully, she had the proper counteragents in her pouch. In minutes, an antidote was ready.
One by one, the players stirred.
"Nngh..."
"...Where are we?"
Their eyes were hazy at first, but then one of them saw Millie and whispered:
"...An angel?"
"Cut the crap and focus."
"Ah— Millie!"
As they groaned and sat up, they quickly took stock of the surroundings. At least their levels hadn’t dulled their judgment.
They soon understood.
Millie asked bluntly:
"You don’t remember anything?"
"...None. Last thing I recall, we were heading east with Kyle ..."
"And then you woke up here?"
"Yes. What happened? How long were we out?"
With a sigh, Millie explained.
Their faces paled.
"...A whole week?!"
"The C-rank dungeon is almost cleared?!"
"There’s Company presence here?!"
Their expressions were almost too stupid to bear.
These were the same idiots who thought Nazoral was the real Kyle. No sense of judgment. Just inflated levels and zero critical thinking.
Fake rankers.
Millie scoffed and pulled out her communicator.
The targets were secured. All that remained was extraction.
But Tempah’s reply caught her off guard.
— "Come here. There are more hostages."
So she led the group down the right path, weaving through Lizardman corpses until they arrived.
Karin gasped behind her.
"M-My teacher?!"
There, crouched in the far corner, Tempah was freeing a crowd of emaciated humans.
One man, an elder with snow-white hair, was dangling from the wall like a broken marionette.
Millie raised her revolver and sniped the restraints cleanly.
The old man crumpled, weightless, into Karin’s arms.
"Master! Please wake up..."
She poured an HP potion into his mouth. The man trembled briefly, then opened his eyes.
"Uuugh... no..."
He wasn’t lucid yet.
His clouded eyes stared at nothing, and he waved his hands in protest.
"Don’t fight... must stop it..."
Mumbling the same phrase again and again.
Karin bit her lip, then explained:
"He can see the future. His foresight makes mine look like child’s play. It’s precise — incredibly vivid."
"...So he’s having a vision right now?"
"I think so."
Everyone around them fell silent.
Watching the old man.
Waiting.
His cracked lips parted.
"...The final condition... will be the number of people remaining..."
