Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 184: A new company is founded
Nika left the lecture hall after filling up the papers required to ensure the other involved parties went through with their word and working out the specifics about the mission with Jon and Ethan. Uriel followed after her with the intention to scold her for being reckless and landing them on a tough spot, but as soon as they were at a distance she was the first one to speak.
"I’m sorry I did things this way, but it was the only thing I could think of that would keep their suspicions at bay and allow us to get an equal share."
"I don’t care about you saying I’m your employee, you could have said we’re partners but whatever. What bothers me is you stirring things up with the army. Do you not know how dangerous it is to be on their crosshairs?"
"You don’t get it, do you?"
"Huh?" Uriel was taken aback by her question and couldn’t formulate a proper answer.
"No matter how dangerous the army is, Jon is far more dangerous. That dude always means trouble and he’s currently on the Mapple corporation payroll. The reason why I acted like that was to send a message, that neither the army nor the Mapple corporation can deal with us because the government is backing us up."
"Wait... they are?"
"Geez! How can you be so smart sometimes and so effing dumb the next moment. The first thing I did after receiving your text was to contact the Cryptid hunting agency and they put me in touch with Samuel Song who happened to be Sam’s father which, by the way, also played in our favor. Had I not done that, you would be who knows where being tortured to give up your relic."
To say Uriel was flabbergasted by Nika’s actions would be the understatement of the century. He couldn’t reconcile the carefree pervert that would eat chips and drink beer while lazying around in the couch the entire day with the person in front of him. Somewhere in between the time they’ve been living together Uriel forgot how disciplined and efficient she was when he first met her.
Nika had not only succeeded in giving Uriel an equal share of the profit, but she also made arrangements to get a vehicle and supplies for the trip along with an assistant the Cryptid hunting agency would send over and the best part was that Sam would join Uriel on the exploration of the dungeon.
Everything would have been perfect if not for one ’tiny’ detail.
"Have you heard anything of Luna?" Uriel asked as he packed his backpack with supplies and gear to last a week and Nika replied by dejectedly shaking her head. She was nowhere to be found and wasn’t replying to any of the texts they sent her. "How long until we depart?"
"There wasn’t much time for discussions, but tomorrow morning we’re supposed to show up at the west gate with the relic. If by that time Luna doesn’t show up..."
That night turned out to be way longer than Uriel expected. He was anxious and couldn’t help but worry about Luna’s whereabouts. If there was one thing he knew was that his team wasn’t complete without her. Even if he had never seen her fight and didn’t even know anything about her trait, she was a very reliable companion and her knowledge about cryptids had proven to be helpful more than once.

Unfortunately for Uriel, time waits for no one and by the next morning he found himself waiting for their ride to the west gate without Luna. When the vehicle arrived at their location, a young woman hurried over to open the door for Nika while completely ignoring Uriel who was carrying not only his backpack, but also Nika’s and a package with the Comanche war bonnet.
"Hey kid, hurry up with the bags!" Nika scolded, yet both Uriel and the woman remained still. Uriel, because he was encumbered by the bulky luggage and couldn’t even see what was in front of him while the woman thought she was speaking to the junior ascended. "Are you deaf? Help him put the bags in the trunk!"
"Certainly, Miss Nika." The assistant replied and rushed to help Uriel, but when she took the package from his hands and she was able to finally see him, she almost dropped it to the ground in shock.
"Careful with that! it’s an important artifact!" Uriel scolded her.
"You!?" The woman was in disbelief because the person in front of her was no other than the scumbag that abandoned his friends on an incursion.
"I know you..." Uriel raked up his brain trying to figure out where did he see her before.
"Oh, yeah... I remember you told me about the lovely receptionist at the Cryptid hunting agency and decided to hire her as our assistant." Nika chuckled at her own devilry.
"Why did you hire someone who hates my guts? I’m so making you pay for this." Uriel said after getting inside the vehicle.
"Don’t you dare speak like that to Miss Nika, she’s our employer!"
"Shut up and drive." Nika bossed her around like she usually did with those who were beneath her on the Mapple corporation ranks. Scared, the woman did as she was told and turned on the engine in silence. "I did it because she needed to be taught a lesson and we will need help in the dungeon."
"We don’t need her, let’s just ditch her at the gate." Uriel casually mentioned while looking through the window dismissively.
"We can’t do that. Mister Song insisted we take someone from the Cryptid hunting agency with us, but don’t worry, she won’t spill the beans on anything she witnesses."
"How can you be so sure?" Uriel wasn’t thrilled about hiring someone as judgemental and impulsive as the woman who made things hard for him at the agency, but Nika had been handing things well and he gave her the benefit of the doubt.
"Because, we basically own her and by we, I mean you."

"What do you mean?"
"She, as a member of the Cryptid hunting agency, is an agent of the government. As such, she was ordered to become the link between the government and our company."
"Our... company?"
"Oh! I forgot to mention that, you own a company now. I came up with a cool name and everything. And before you get mad again, it was a necessary step to be granted rights to the orichalcum vein. For the time being You’re the owner and CEO, I’m your assistant and she’s our first drone."
"Why her? Why not someone more capable?"
"This exploration is going to be dangerous, it’s not like we can be certain that whoever goes with us will be able to come back and she’s disposable. Besides, we’ll be able to get as many employees as we want after we explore the dungeon." Nika grinned.
