The stars in the sky were more abundant in Neville, Celine sat on the hammock chair on the terrace of Natalia’s apartment. She looked back into the house where Leo was sitting by the table playing a crossword puzzle silently while Leah was engrossed with feeding the cat treats.

"Leah, what’s your cat called?" She heard Natalia distantly ask.

"Her name is Boba, would you like to pet her?" Leah’s sweet voice drifted over a second later.

"Screech!" The sound of Boba hissing immediately followed after.

"Ouch! It scratched me!" Natalia exclaimed.

"Sorry, Boba doesn’t like other people, she only likes me."

Celine smiled quietly at her kids and Natalia’s interaction, and after noticing that Natalia hadn’t been hurt from the cat’s scratch, she looked away focusing her gaze to the stars in the sky.

"That’s all the treats I have Boba." Leah muttered softly to the cat, running her tiny fingers through its fur. The little girl glanced towards the terrace where she could distantly spot their mother sitting quietly to herself then lowered her eyes thoughtfully before shifting her gaze to her brother.

Leah poked him the moment she sat next to him at the table.

"Hm?" The boy answered with an indifferent hum though he didn’t lift his gaze off the crossword puzzle sheet he was so engrossed with. He had solved more than half of it but determinedly focused on finishing it.

"Do you know what it means, Mommy said someone doesn’t want us." The little girl asked the question she’d had on her mind for a while.

Leah was supposed to be taking a nap at the time, however she hadn’t been able to fully fall asleep, she had been awake and overheard the conversation her mother was having with Natalia.

"Who doesn’t want us?" The boy looked calm as he matched two words while waiting for his sister to give her reply.

"Someone." She replied then started to think really deeply, "Godmother said his name."

Leo stopped the puzzle when his sister took too long to reply. "You forgot again didn’t you?"

She pouted her pink lips guiltily. She was sometimes very forgetful that their Mommy always had to remind her of things.

"I don’t remember the name, but Mommy said that we never ask about our father."

Father?

This seemed to hold her brother’s interest so Leah was even more eager to continue talking about it.

It felt like a forbidden topic since earlier when she had walked out of the bedroom, Mommy and godmother Natalia had immediately stopped talking about it.

"Danny and Nora have a father, Winnie also has a father, he always picks them up from school, but Mommy is the only one who picks us from school. She tucks us into bed, sings us lullabies and makes food for us everyday, we’ve never had a father. Do you think we have a father too?"

Leo looked like he was thinking, he placed his little elbow on the table and supported his chin with his fist.

"Danny said not everyone has a father, his cousin Mikey doesn’t have one too."

"But why don’t we have one?" Leah looked disappointed now.

"I don’t know, Leah." The little girl felt like her brother wasn’t as interested in this as she was, so she pouted sadly and crossed her arms on the table laying her head over it with a sad look in her adorable blue eyes.

Seeing such an expression, one would want to give the beautiful little girl whatever she might ask for.

From the corner of his eyes, Leo saw that his sister had a sad look on her face, he suddenly stopped what he was playing.

"Do you want to have a father too?" Immediately he asked this, Leah whipped her head up and nodded repeatedly.

"Danny’s father always play with him, and they go everywhere together."

"Mommy goes everywhere with us too and she plays with us all the time." Leo argued.

Yes, their Mommy did that for them too. Leah thought, but somehow she would always wish to have someone like Danny’s father.

"Nora’s father built her a big dollhouse." Leah said recalling something else.

"Mommy bought you the biggest dollhouse too." Leo reminded.

That was right, their Mommy did do that, but Leah still wished she had a father just like Nora’s.

"But..." She muttered thoughtfully, her left cheek dipping in to reveal a dimple when she pouted. "Winnie’s father always takes her to play games, they eat lots of ice cream and have lots of fun!"

Leo facepalmed, "But Mommy does all that too Leah."

"That is true." Leah agreed softly while playing with Boba’s ears. The cat sat itself perched on the table flicking it’s tail here and there lazily.

"Leo, do you think we don’t need a father, just like Mommy said?"

Leo looked down at his crossword puzzle, his hazel orbs hid the truth of what he actually wanted.

"Mommy’s enough." Though the little boy said this, his hands couldn’t fully draw a circle over a certain word he identified.

"Do you remember the name now, that person who doesn’t want us?" He asked his sister whose eyes lit up after two seconds.

"Oh yes, I remember now! Godmother Natalia said that person who doesn’t want us...she called him Mr Grayson."

"Little cuties, where are you? I got you guys some snacks." Natalia’s voice echoed over to the two kids they exchanged glances before Leah quickly put a smile on her face when Natalia appeared while Leo’s expression remained unchanged.

Later, after Celine had tucked the twins in bed and kissed them goodnight then turned off the lights and left the room, Leo sat up in bed.

He heard small distant voices of Natalia and Celine bidding each other goodnight and once the voices had died down he pulled out his iPad from a nearby bag.

The screen lit up the dark room and an automated voice drifted out.

"Welcome back, Leo." The voice sounded like it belonged to a childlike robot.

"Trixy, I want to find someone." Leo said and there was a momentary delay before the robotic voice replied. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Certainly Leo, who do you need to find, I can gather any information online and give you an accurate location."

"I want to find a man, I only know that his name is Mr Grayson."

Leo knew the story of why Danny’s cousin doesn’t have a father. Danny’s Mommy had once told Nora’s mother that Danny’s father ran off and abandoned the little boy with his mother. Danny’s mother had also said that he had broken the woman’s heart because he was too scared of having a kid, so he left her all alone.

Leo knew that all kids had a mother and father, so he knew they had one too. His Mommy just never told them why theirs wasn’t with them.

When Leo thought about his Mommy being sad because their father abandoned them, he felt very angry in his heart.

It was peculiar to see such a sharp look in the eyes of a boy that young, but this very look showed on Leo’s young face at this very moment.

"Here’s what I found about Mr. Grayson...." The robotic voice suddenly sounded, "Tristan Grayson, born Tristan Elias Blakewood is a businessman and entrepreneur known of his leadership of the multi-billion dollar empire Grayson Corp. Mr Grayson has been named the wealthiest man in Neville for seven years straight..."

"It’s him! That’s the name I heard godmother Natalia say to Mommy!"

Leo had assumed that Leah had fallen asleep, but he suddenly heard her voice and spotted her eyes glistening as she quickly sat up.

"That’s our Daddy Leo!" Leah said excitedly looking at the picture displayed on Leo’s ipad.
