Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 202: Why Didn’t You Come Find Us?
At the Grayson Corp company building.
Tristan was sitting behind his desk, handling some papers when he suddenly looked at his wristwatch. He frowned slightly but then resumed his work. After what seemed like less than five minutes, he once again glanced at his wristwatch for the second time. His frown deepened, nevertheless, he continued working.
Kaleb, who was standing at the side, silently watched Tristan with a half-smile on his face, which he tried not to show.
He seemed to be doing a silent countdown in his head because the moment it hit the five-minute mark, Tristan once again glanced at his watch.
This time, Kaleb couldn’t resist smiling and finally spoke up. "Boss, it’s not closing hours yet, but... if you want to leave work, no one can stop you. You’re the boss after all."
Tristan seemed to suddenly realize something, but the look of realization quickly disappeared from his face. He cleared his throat and said,
"Kaleb, you handle the rest. I have somewhere important I need to be."
Even without being told, Kaleb knew exactly what "somewhere important" he was referring to.
"Sure, boss."
Tristan dropped everything he was doing. He got up from behind his desk, picked up his coat, and was about to leave the office when Kaleb suddenly remembered something and stopped him.
"Oh, I almost forgot. This arrived for you earlier," Kaleb said, handing him a file.
Tristan paused, taking the file from him. He opened it and read through its contents, a warm smile forming on his face. Then he gave Kaleb a nod and strode out of the office.
Kaleb watched him leave with a smile.
How love changes people.
From someone who used to do everything he could to remain in his office all day, a hopeless workaholic, a working machine, he had now become someone who couldn’t wait for closing hours just to go be with his family.
Kaleb stretched happily. "Ah, relief. My life is going to become even simpler these days, I can tell." He beamed, then walked over and took a seat on the long couch in Tristan’s office. He even took off his shoes and stretched his legs out, lying down comfortably.
However, he had barely closed his eyes to take the short nap he had been looking forward to when his phone suddenly rang.
He opened his eyes, still wearing a relaxed expression, but frowned when he saw the caller ID. He swiped the screen to answer.
"The meeting with Mr. Hansen at seven, and the one with Mr. Anderson at nine, attend them in my place, and have all the files ready for tomorrow’s board meeting with the investors on time..."
Kaleb’s expression gradually shifted from relaxed and unbothered to one of pure misery.
Where were the so-called happy days he had just imagined? They had all flown out the window.
This new change in his boss wasn’t going to bring him any rest at all. Tristan changing from a workaholic to a family man was only going to dump all the work onto him, the poor and innocent one.
Ah! Someone bring back the workaholic Tristan Grayson!!
Nevertheless, he listened attentively to all the instructions Tristan gave him.

The black Maybach drove through the gates of the villa. Tristan stepped out of the car as it parked and strode toward the porch.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks when he saw a familiar figure sitting by the porch. Her arms were wrapped around herself as she gazed up at the sky.
A small smile formed on his lips as he followed her line of sight upward. It was a starless night. He wondered what exactly she was staring at, but after a moment, she seemed to sense his presence and turned to look at him.
A bright smile lit up her face.
Tristan noticed how she had her arms wrapped around herself, so he walked over, taking off his coat.
"Why are you waiting outside in the cold?"
"You’re here! I’ve been waiting for you." She wrapped her arms around his waist as he draped his coat over her shoulders.
Tristan smiled, savouring the warmth of her embrace as he took in her sweet scent. He placed a gentle kiss on her hair.
"You didn’t have to wait out here in the cold," he murmured.
She rested her chin against his chest and looked up at him with a soft smile. "You’re here, so it’s warm now."
A warm gaze filled his eyes as he leaned down and gently captured her lips in a soft kiss before pulling away.
"Let’s go inside?" she asked.
He nodded and followed her as she held his hand, and together they stepped into the house.
"Daddy!" Leah called happily as she ran toward him.
Tristan bent slightly and picked her up in his arms as she reached him.
"I missed you, Daddy. Did you miss me?"
"Of course I missed my little angel." He placed a kiss on her adorable cheeks, making her giggle.
Leo acknowledged Tristan’s arrival with a glance, but he didn’t show the same excitement as Leah. Though deep down, he felt it, he simply chose not to show it.
Celine led Tristan further into the house toward the dining room.
"Daddy, sit here!" Leah immediately patted the seat right beside her excitedly, her small legs swinging under the chair as she beamed at her father.
Tristan paused for a brief second, glancing at Celine, who only smiled softly as if telling him to go along with it. Without hesitation, he took the seat beside Leah.
The moment he sat down, the little girl clung to his arm like she had been waiting all day for this exact moment.
"I’ve been waiting for you," she whispered dramatically, as if she had suffered greatly in his absence, but the truth was she had been chattering non stop since that morning about everything her father did the previous day.
A soft chuckle escaped Tristan’s lips before he could stop himself. "Have you now?" he looked at his daughter, infinitely amused, the smile on his face was unlike his usual cold stiff upturn of his lips, it looked genuine.
"Yes!" she nodded seriously, then leaned closer. "Mommy said you were working, but I think that’s too long."
Tristan raised a brow slightly, amused. His whole attention focused on his daughter as Celine served dinner, "Too long?"
"Yes. Work is not more important than me," she declared confidently.
Celine nearly choked on her drink, turning her face away to hide her laughter.
"Baby, for your father, his works is actually..."
"You are absolutely right." Tristan interrupted before Celine could complete what she was saying. "Work is not at all more important than you."
Celine raised a brow at him, sending him a rueful smile. Leah beamed victoriously, clearly pleased with herself.
Meanwhile, across the table, Leo watched them quietly, his expression neutral, but his eyes lingered just a little longer on his father as if he were expecting the latter to say something to him.
"Daddy, when we weren’t with you, did you miss us?" Leah asked brightly.
Tristan thought about that question deeply, these past few days his life had changed drastically. He had suddenly found a small family and it was unlike anything he’d ever had in his life.
When he was around them, his heart would fill up with a strangely wonderful feeling...was this what true happiness felt like? If it was then he’d never had it... he’d missed something so beautiful for a long time.
"Yes Leah, I missed not having you." He replied softly making Leah beam warmly.
"Don’t worry Daddy, you have us now." Immediately Leah’s words fell another small cute voice interrupted.
"If you missed us, why didn’t you come find us?"
That question made everyone freeze.
