Duality of Shadows-Chapter 1017: Solid Will
After Ruri and Meru felt satisfied visiting the place where Alm and Bruno lived in the past, they headed toward another inhabited planet in that galaxy. Upon arriving on a world where many elves lived, they confirmed that they were similar to the people of Earth, with the abnormal law inside them. This confirmation was repeated on another planet in a different galaxy.
All forms of intelligent life, those capable of imagining and thinking clearly, exhibited the presence of the calamity law within them. However, plants and ordinary animals had not received this influence.
They soon moved to the center of the universe. Alm and Bruno analyzed everything closely, and now that they knew exactly what the item was and how its law worked, it would be easy to find.
Searching through the still-developing laws of the place, just a few minutes later, Alm spoke to the two:
"It’s infiltrated in the base of the celestial laws of this universe. This isn’t recent; it infiltrated people through the laws, and everyone who’s born carries this influence. But now, it’s not just influencing people; it’s helping to rewrite the broken laws..."
As he said this, an idea crossed his mind. Before, they had asked Caipora how he found the primordial chaos items. They could only be found in the underworld, as they were always in constant movement.
Their fluctuations could be subtly felt before they arrived somewhere in the underworld, allowing Caipora to track them down. But where did these items stay the rest of the time?
"It’s possible that they always infiltrated random universes. Eventually, they would leave for the underworld and then be detected; it’s like leaving a house and going to an open field. But since there are countless universes and calamities don’t always interfere greatly with things, that information is hard to get. Only the Queen should know about it, as eventually, they invade one of her universes. Since it happens randomly, and even she can’t capture them easily, there’s not much to be done."

A theory formed in both their minds. When they destroyed the laws in the past, they felt the three items in the underworld moving randomly through the chaos. They were so frantic that capturing them seemed impossible.
Their power had been created by the celestial laws and the will of the heavens; thus, they were one with the ancient celestial laws. After the event that destroyed everything, it was as if their programming had crashed; they lost part of their purpose and didn’t know how to proceed.
Now, with minimal stability, they couldn’t return to what they did before, but they still tried. As they infiltrated the universe with the broken laws...
As soon as they thought of this, Alm and Bruno immediately activated their celestial souls to the maximum and carefully searched for something in the broken laws of this universe. It didn’t take long before they found something very subtle hidden there.
"The Heaven’s Will of the Pearl has been absorbed by the universe’s laws," Bruno said, surprised. They consulted the system, trying to find any information that could explain it.
[Searching...]
[No information found in the Akashic records or celestial knowledge.]
They both snorted. Now they understood well the origin of the system’s information. The Akashic records were compilations of people’s memories; everything someone had discovered or created was recorded, allowing for a search.
It was surprising to find that people’s memories weren’t just stored within their Origin Law. The previous Heaven’s Will had managed to preserve this, ensuring the system remained active to help them.
Celestial knowledge, on the other hand, was the basic rules of the world that governed life forms; it was information that the previous Heaven’s Will naturally knew upon birth. Since Alm and Bruno were born mortals and took on the role, they had to learn everything little by little.
If this information didn’t exist in either of the two places, it meant the reason for the items’ actions had been inserted into them from the beginning of everything. Neither the Heaven’s Will nor the people who came later could have knowledge of it. In other words, the only way to understand it was to discover it on their own, by observing the clues.
The whale snorted and waved, focusing on sensing all the influence of that pearl within the laws. It didn’t take long for things to become clearer.
"The law of the Pearl of Chaotic Imagination was responsible for distorting time in this universe. The power of the pearl is the extreme ability to alter reality, creating illusions or even real things. It all depends on the imagination of the one using it, not the item. This means someone did this...!"
As they murmured, they noticed that when using the pearl’s power to the maximum, the will of the one who did it became marked in it. He waved, and they started attracting the whole body of that item, which was fragmented into runic forms.
Had someone ever mastered a primordial chaos item? There were no records about it, but the world had existed for a long time—even the Queen was a recent thing compared to the world’s age. Mastering an item didn’t depend on cultivation; someone just had to overcome the calamity, which was sometimes just a test.
Before long, a small bluish pearl formed before the whale. Meru and Ruri, seeing this, became excited. They had come to this place for this reason, and they had reached their goal.
Without delay, Alm and Bruno focused on feeling the will’s mark left on the pearl. Then, they noticed it was a solid will, not a common mark. It seemed something left by an immortal cultivator... as they released it, an ethereal figure slowly appeared.
It was a human man, with an ordinary, forgettable appearance. Alm and Bruno had never seen him before, but... the whale’s heart beat irregularly, an instinctive feeling that both of them sensed but couldn’t immediately understand.
The figure stared at the whale, and it stared back.
"Hm?" The whale squinted his eyes.
Immediately, Ruri and Meru’s eyes widened. They knew right away by his mannerisms. Alm and Bruno also noticed a second later.
"You! You’re me!?"
