Chapter 316: Commendable

The Frost Scale Boa opened its mouth slightly. It had been itching for a long time since it was the only one who wasn’t able to enjoy the destruction. Lin Feng knew this, so he grabbed Mu Yao just in case she lost balance.

When the ancestor heard the answer, he nodded. "I see..." He immediately attacked. Although he knew that he would die and his attack wouldn’t matter, he was still not going down without even trying.

A large amount of wind gathered, forming a silhouette of a massive dragon above everyone. In size, it was even bigger than the Frost Scale Boa.

Lin Feng felt the strength of the attack from the old man. He felt the wind getting still before immediately going on a rampage like a storm in the area around them.

When the dragon was formed, the ancestor of Quiet Wind Sect waved his hand, and the dragon immediately swooped toward Lin Feng and the others.

The Frost Scale Boa opened its mouth wider and blew. A torrent of mist released from its simple breath, and it froze everything in its path.

SHKKKK!

The wind dragon vanished the moment it hit the mist, creating a raging storm at the point of collision, but even then the mist passed through it unhindered.

The white mist encompassed all the Quiet Wind Sect along with the ancestor and the other leftover elders.

They weren’t even able to react before getting frozen stiff and falling to the ground.

"Tsk... Puny human trying to mimic a dragon in front of me..." The Boa snickered and spoke with smugness.

Lin Feng shook his head. The attack of the ancestor was strong. If it had hit him, then even his bones wouldn’t have been left. Nonetheless, it was nothing in front of this Boa.

Mu Yao was totally wide-eyed right now. She was too stunned seeing the wind dragon, and seeing it getting destroyed like nothing shocked her further. She instinctively looked at the snake she was sitting on before and patted it. "You are so strong, senior snake."

The Boa became elated hearing her compliment. "Hahaha... this is nothing. I will show you my real strength—"

"Stop it. There is nothing left here for you to show anything..." Lin Feng stood up and flew down toward the approaching disciples of Frozen Heart Sect.

When he arrived, the shocked disciples bowed. "Greetings, chief disciple." They had seen the destruction from far away.

Lin Feng nodded. "I hope you handle it from here, junior sisters."

Although there was nothing left for them to handle other than collecting the treasures and resources from the dead and the treasury.

"Of course, chief disciple, but what about him..." One of the disciples bowed and pointed toward the only left disciple of Quiet Wind Sect.

Lin Feng looked at the cultivator and gestured to him. "You can leave."

He didn’t care if this cultivator had done something bad or not. Since this guy had listened to him and come to the mountain, he was free to go.

"Thank you, senior, for your mercy." The cultivator bowed and immediately left. He had seen what real strength was.

All the disciples of his sect had gotten the taste of what they were doing all the time, and he was sure that they must have felt the same despair as those villagers.

In the end, only he who kept his morals had survived...

Lin Feng watched the disciple leave and went back onto the head of the Boa. "Let’s go. We have two more targets to take care of..."

....

A few days later, Lin Feng, Mu Yao, and Hei Ying returned to the sect. They had eradicated all the powers which had acted like devils when Frozen Heart Sect wasn’t paying attention to them.

The news of the destruction was already spreading in the whole northern region, and Frozen Heart Sect had taken responsibility for destroying them while providing proofs of the atrocities these sects had committed.

Those who were thinking of joining these factions to get some benefits felt a chill run down their spine. They finally understood that Frozen Heart Sect wasn’t something that they could take lightly just because they had never punished these sects before.

They also understood that Frozen Heart Sect definitely wasn’t as weak as it seemed. This war definitely wasn’t going to be one-sided. Nonetheless, only time would tell.

....

Some days passed in peace when Mo Yan and Xie Ruyue came back from their mission.

When these two landed on the spirit peak, they were surprised seeing the scene in front of them.

A little girl was struggling to climb on a small branch of a tree to pick an ice plum.

Xie Ruyue looked toward Mo Yan with a little confused gaze. "From where did these trees come from, and who is this adorable little girl?"

In these days, they hadn’t only completed their mission of eradicating bandits and devil cultivators but also bonded like sisters. Mo Yan had told Xie Ruyue everything about the sect, so Xie Ruyue was sure that no one else lived on the spirit peak other than them.

There were some other things she got to know which were even shocking for her—the relationship they had. It was very hard to believe that Sect Master Xuan Xue would have that kind of relationship.

Mo Yan shook her head while smiling a little. "I have no idea..." Looking at the pouting expression of the little girl as she struggled to pluck the fruit was quite endearing. "Let’s go and see..."

Just as Mo Yan said that, their eyes went to a dark wolf which came out from behind the tree and looked at them.

"Hm... how did we miss its presence? Was it here all the time?" Xie Ruyue spoke out a little louder as her eyes widened in a little shock.

The tree was too thin to hide a wolf like this completely, yet they had missed it completely.

Mo Yan was a little shocked too. "Sigh, it seems we let our guard down too much after reaching the peak. That’s not a good habit..."

Mu Yao finally turned around when she heard their talk, as they weren’t slow like before, but this made her slip, and she immediately fell from the branch.

"Nooo—"

Before she could finish her crying, she was caught in two arms.

Mo Yan, who had caught Mu Yao, smiled. "Hello little one... would you mind telling us about yourself?"

Mu Yao took a deep breath. She was scared, although given her cultivation realm she wouldn’t have gotten hurt, as even senior brother had told her that it was safe for her to fall from that much, but it would have hurt nonetheless. "Se-senior sister, I am Mu Yao. I just recently joined this sect as a disciple of the spirit peak... Senior brother Lin brought me here."

Mo Yan was surprised. "Ohh..." The sect must have gotten a lot of new recruits due to recent events, so she must be one of the victims, but how did junior brother meet her? "I see..."

Mo Yan put her down and rubbed Mu Yao’s head. "My name is Mo Yan, and this is Xie Ruyue. From now on, if you need anything, just tell me, okay?"

Just as she said that, she felt a spiritual sense, and immediately Lin Feng appeared near her. Sensing his cultivation realm, both Mo Yan and Xie Ruyue got surprised, but they had a little inclination how he reached there.

"Congratulations, junior brother." Mo Yan smiled charmingly.

"Sigh, I was hoping to bully you. Well, whatever. Congratulations, junior brother." Xie Ruyue sighed while smiling.

Lin Feng shook his head. Given her strength, she could still do it. "Welcome back... Let me tell you guys about recent developments."

Lin Feng began telling them everything, and when he finished, Mo Yan and Xie Ruyue were surprised and looked toward the faraway mountain where the beasts were resting.

"So finally we got rid of those devils." Mo Yan was happy to hear that. They hadn’t gone to cities, so they hadn’t heard about the recent news.

After talking among themselves for a while, Mo Yan and Xie Ruyue went to the mission pavilion to report everything to Hua Ying.

Lin Feng waited for them to finish and looked at Mu Yao, and after that at the trees. They were almost empty, with only a few fruits hanging on slim branches.

It seemed her appetite was more than what he had assumed, or she just liked eating them since she didn’t feel much hungry due to her physique. Nonetheless, he would bring more fruit trees. "You want those fruits?"

He had a feeling why only the outer fruits were left—she couldn’t reach them.

Mu Yao nodded immediately while maintaining her expression to not let him find out that she had fallen just now. It was embarrassing. "Yes."

Lin Feng nodded and plucked all the fruits with his spiritual sense and gathered them in front of her.

Mu Yao immediately used her robe to hold most of them and caught one in her hand before biting it. She had been craving them for quite a while now.

Lin Feng watched her speechlessly as she devoured the fruit immediately. He looked at Hei Ying, who was looking at him. He patted her head. "How you handled her before we met is commendable."
